Being using ESET since a while on over dozen machines with no issues. It's my favorite AV software mainly because it's really efficient and reliable. Not resource hog at all. Pretty customizable too.

Beyond expectations
As a pentester with 5 years of experience, ESET is one of the AV's I couldn't bypass and get a reverse shell from. It catches simple one-liners as you would expect. When I tried to obfuscate the code and encoded it with different techniques, it didn't remove the script file the moment I copied it on my disk. Then I ran the code it stopped the connection immediately. It was pretty amazing.
