I ordered this book from Biblio.com who sells this company's books. Ergode listed the book as in "good" condition and never mentioned that the books was missing the dust jacket. The spine and cover... See more

The Prize in gard back
Ordered a book at the end of last year, not received an order confirmation nor the book, e mailed several times now but no response to date
steve, really annoyed
My order was refunded and re-listed at 10x the price
My order was refunded without cause, and when I emailed them requesting an explanation they claimed that the last copy was in too poor of a condition to send. When I looked on their website again the same copy of the book I ordered was listed at twice the amount. I responded to the original help ticket I placed and they claimed that it was a warehouse error and that they would reach out to their warehouse to change it. I have checked again out of curiosity and it is now listed at over $500 when I had originally purchased it at $30. I will never use their services again and I implore you not to either. It feels so scammy and they should do better.
Refund, an no explanation
I ordered a book. The purchase was refunded, but I did not request a return, or refund. I have not had any explanation as to why, and they are not responding to my contact.
no protective packaging at al
The order did arrive, but there was no protective packaging at all. Shipping was relatively slow.
Found the JBL History of Speakers for…
Found the JBL History of Speakers for 97.00, paid through Amazon. This morning received email saying book was damaged during shipping??? Same book is now onsale on their site for 197.00 dollars now. Filed complaint with Amazon and the Harris County AG. Slimey, slimey pathetic humans.
Much like what so many others have…
Much like what so many others have said.
I found a book at a very good price, ordered it, was notified within a day that it was shipped, and it never showed up. I called customer service to check, who put me on hold only a very short period of time... I would say 30 seconds to a minute... who told me that the carrier said the package was lost in transit (yeah, right). They offered to send me another book of equal value, or to reimburse me for the book, which I obviously chose to be reimbursed.
Reimbursement did not arrive within the given timeframe, therefore I logged a case with Paypal and with abebooks.com, through whom the order was made. Thankfully, Paypal was able to get the money reimbursed, fairly quickly. That said, I would never again order anything online without having done so through Paypal or something similar.
I wish I had read the reviews on this site before making an order. I also wish there was a way to direct other potential buyers to this site for the exact same reason.
Not a real store, a drop-shipping scam.
The person who sold me the book had no idea her book was drop-shipped from Amazon marketplace, sold to me on Biblio, by dropshipper Ergodebooks, who wiped the condition notes and pocketed the difference. I tried to return the book, and they pocketed that too (with my money), and scammed my refund out of the real seller, pocketing that too. That is a scam. Ergodebooks profits by relisting books listed by other sellers, and selling via dropshipping, but erasing or whitewashing information on books' condition, so they get the sale by fraudulently advertising. They give the original buyer a runaround when one tries to return for a refund, hoping buyers and sellers will get tired of fighting with them to get their book/money back. They have no inventory; their "official" address is an unrelated shipping store.
Wish I’d read reviews before buying
Wish I’d read reviews before buying. Bought a book mid September, arrived beginning of October, sat down to read it two weeks after it arrived and every second page is blank. Contacted the company who said it was “outside the return window” so they wouldn’t refund it. I tried to explain this was not honourable business behaviour given they’d sent me a faulty product only four weeks ago, but they stuck to their story. Really disappointing when businesses can’t honour their mistakes and make things right. Hiding behind “That’s our policy” to hang on to $20 they effectively stole from a customer just makes me sad.
I had a good experience with Ergode…
I had a good experience with Ergode Books. I received what I ordered. I would use them again.
NOT WHAT I ORDERED
I waited weeks for my purchase, which eventually arrived to discover it was not what I had ordered.
I have sent an email to Ergode Books and will change my review to a more balanced one if the mistake is rectified.
I received my book on time as promised.
I ordered a very old book. But I later read reviews and was worried. I wrote to the seller and they replied giving me the tracking number. The book arrived as promised without delay. Also my experience is 180 degrees different from the reviews I saw. I am really pleased with this purchase.
This company is un-ethical
This company is un-ethical.
I ordered a book for $11 from this site, after almost a week, they sent me an email apologizing that their last unit of this book was too damaged to ship and issued a refund.
I immediately looked on their site and they had inventory of the same book for $60.
This site is crooked, and there a reason 3/4 of anyone whose done business with them (or tried to) has a bad experience.
I beleive the good reviews are likely fake
An excellent experience
An excellent experience. I ordered a book on the 1st August and it arrived on the 18th - very fast shipping from USA to country South Australia. The book was better than described and very securely packaged.
I should have read the reviews before I…
I should have read the reviews before I did business with this shady seller! The book I ordered for $21.93 got "lost"in shipment. The replacement is more money of course. Bait and switch.
I, too, was conned by Ergode
I ordered a rare and out-of-print book which I really wanted to read. Owing to the fact that it is a rare and out-of-print book, there weren't many copies online, and it was an expensive purchase.
That was quite a few weeks ago now.
I have just received a cock and bull story from Ergode claiming that an entire pallet of books was refused entry into the UK by UK customs officials, and even though the books have supposedly been returned to Ergode, they may not be able to locate another copy to send me.
Why would they need to locate another copy, if the original copy had been returned to them, quite apart from the unlikely nature of the story in the first place?
I suspect that I have quite simply wasted a lot of money on a rare book which Ergode simply never had to hand. Reading the reviews here makes me suspect this even more strongly.
To be honest, I had assumed that Amazon vetted its third-party sellers. Clearly, it does not.
Item got delivered
I bought a very obscure CD off of them from Amazon, at around the same price of other listings. Similar to other reviews, the tracking number I got was invalid, status shown on Amazon page was entirely false. A few days after the estimated delivery date, I contacted them through Amazon. They told me the item had apparently been returned with a pallet of other items. After this not only did I end up getting a full refund, but they sent the item back to me anyway and it arrived today!
Take caution, of course, but at least in my case I did manage to get my item.
Please do not uses these monsters
Please do not uses these monsters. Honestly throwing your money down the toilet would be less painful. Paid for book. Book never arrived. Well over 100 emails sent back and forth, promises of a refund... Tbf it turned into a massive joke amongst my friends.
It's when they tell you the matter has been forwarded to their "concerned department" that you know your in for it.
Possibly the worst company on planet earth. Stay away.
Complete scam
Complete scam - ordered a book through Amazon UK and I was given a tracking number (on a Saturday) - which was untrackable - i checked with the courier - tracking number was false. I complained and was immediately refunded - but with the message that the item nmust be "lost in the post"! Avoid at all costs - look at the company history!
Addendum - I was contacted later by telephone (on my unlisted home phone!) and asked if I would be willing to change my review!
Total scam-fake tracking number for a very expensive book
Total scam, ordered a very expensive book from them. They provided fake tracking number that after weeks of waiting for the book was discovered. They never posted the book, yet claimed that the carrier Asendia was at fault. They didn't even send the item. Awaiting the refund from Amazon.
AMAZING
I was really freaked out from reading these reviews after ordering a book. But the book came in fantastic condition, very quickly, and for an amazing price! Thank you so much Ergodebooks :))
