Bought the Epicooler online at Christmas time. Was bitterly disappointed to receive 2 so called Epicooler Air Conditioners that actually turned out to be heaters with a fan mode. Cooling mode is a joke. No better than a desk fan on a hot summers day. The worst part is this company has no after sales service. Tried to contact them via email, which was conveniently full and receiving to much mail, and via their 24/7 customer care online. No answers. Did not proceed with phone calls or redirection through the internet as there was an Alert for possible Phishing from this site. I wanted a refund since this was not what I ordered. And ONLY after opening a dispute with PayPal, was I able to get a response and return the goods for a refund. This company used Instagram platform to advertise their product. So I thought I was ok buying a “credible” product online. Always use PayPal for purchases. Protect yourself. This False advertising and not quoting product in US dollars needs to be investigated by our Department of Fair Trading.

They were able to change the delivery address after I placed the order.
Placed it on to cool my room yesterday for 5 hours. 31 degrees at the beginning of the 5 hours and at the end still 31 degrees. I even took pictures with a large thermostat in the room.
Was set on 17 degrees celcius and cool wind and it just moved the air around and did not cool.

Scam!!! These units do not work!
I had to threaten with legal follow up in order to get a response. Was ignored until that point,
Money back guarantee (false advertising) they have offered me 25% refund - 50% refund and now 75% refund and if I want a complete refund they will make me pay postage costs and it has to be sent back the way I received !
Beware. ! Don't buy ! Comes from Hong Kong and the story of the man that built these is also fake !!!
Also it tells you a price but when it's deducted it comes out as USD and not AUD so it cost nearly $400 for 2 and not $220 as advertised and does not tell you it's American $$$ the name of the business as displayed on our bank recipe was CHECKOUTERA which is also another concern !!
Also advertised as aus and nz company but it's Chinese and stock comes from Hong Kong and when Australia post notified me the business name was a different name to the bank receipt also and still wasn't Epicooler.

Paid through Australian site but instantly changed in US dollars.
I’ve read a lot of other peoples reviews and everything said is exactly what I went through. I tried to cancel the order straight away only to receive automated answers and then the mail bounced back because of overload.
Was told eventually my order was made up and couldn’t be cancelled. I paid through PayPal so decided to get them involved because I wasn’t happy they didn’t cancel the order and refund me straight away. Was extremely stressful and frustrating. The conversations all went through PayPal from then on. I received the product after three weeks and it was rubbish. I asked to return it because of the US dollar charge instead of Australian dollars and was given an Australian P.O. Box in NSW to return it to. Cost $26 but much better than the 45% they offered to keep the product.
I received a refund today from PayPal, a day after i sent the product back.
It wasn’t an easy process but better outcome than a lot of others received.
Please don’t buy from this company, it’s a total scam. The product is just a fan not as it’s trumped up to be on the glossy adds. Lesson learnt!
Can’t believe they can continue to do what they are doing, hopefully they will be shut down soon.

I have had the epicooler for 24 hours and it just happened to arrive on a cooler summer day. This is my honest review because I don’t want people to be mislead , for the $240 Aus price tag - IN MY OPINION it is nothing but an expensive fan ! My bedroom is only 3.5m x 3.5m and if I was to rely on the cooling of this device - I would cook. I know AC s struggle in extreme heat but as I said it arrived on a cooler, windy and overcast day. My only win is that at least I didn’t fall for the multi-buy offer. I do not give reviews for products either positive or negative unless I am impressed or the opposite. Sorry epicooler, we did not buy for a few months so it was not an impulsive buy. I am not sending it back, but I regret the purchase. But please note that I live in Queensland - maybe ok for other climates

The Product is falsely advertised as a cooler. No Cooling facility, heater yes but in summer it's a useless fan. Customer service, what is that !!!
Contact to arrange return, first reponse is an automated one, please do a survey, then the mailbox is CONSTANTLY full.
Thank God for PayPal, refund was issued but only after the same information was provided several times

I ordered 2 epicooler AC units and ended up receiving 2 cheap fan heaters. The company claims to be Australian but they charge in US dollars but you don't find this out until after you have paid. They know the the epicooler does not work so they send you a cheap fan heater instead. The advertising for the epicooler is exaggerated and misleading with glowing reviews showing how quickly it cools the room but it is all fake. It is a scam so take your money elsewhere. Do not be misled by the false advertising. Since I complained, the company has told me I can keep the heaters and they will reimburse me 25% of the total price. Big deal!!!

Marketing scam + rubbish product + false advertising. It is not an AC, it does not cool the room AT ALL. It is just very expensive and very noisy low-end fan. There is no channel of communication to complain or get a refund, email box is overfull and emails bounce back. Also, price is quoted in USD which is not clear, so you end up paying much higher in AUD. It would be good to lodge a collective action to the Fair Trading to stop this product shipped to Australia.
Do not waist your time or money on the epicool fraud. No chance of it cooling any room down at all and then the customer service want nothing to do with you. I was offered a 25% refund, yet to get it, if I kept the useless items. Otherwise it costs more to ship them back than they cost. I am tsling this further and I hope others take note of review
CHEERS
Complete scam, bought online was more expensive that advertised. Took many weeks to arrive. Completely ineffective, emailed support until their email address became ‘undeliverable’. A joke. Do not buy - report these scammers.
Overpriced lightweight fan, that you would still have to make holes in the walls to set up!
Not even in the smallest room in the house, is this unit effective.
Total waste of money!
Would not recommend purchasing it!
On top of that the amount says one amount, but that is in US dollar amount, yet when you look at it, it says Australian dollar! So ends up costing more than double the amount.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Well everyone I just wanted to let you all know that after sending the two of them back to the company I used PayPal and they reimbursed them to me except for the delivery cost of eighty dollars yay
The Epicooler only heats, does not cool, I ordered 2 and only received one. Anything too good to be true, IS!!
Don't buy, it won't cool.
They wouldn't answer any emails once I received the goods.
DON'T BUY
We imported one of these units (ex China, paid for in $US and grossly misrepresented as Australian). We have an AC background and were profoundly suspicious of the claims.
Turns out we were right.
Stripped it down and there is nothing in this heap of rubbish to suggest it could cool a carboard box. It has a low setting of 16C but this is impossible to achieve unless the ambient air temperature is a maximum of 19C and then you would need to be in nothing bigger than a large closet, It's just a low end evaporate cooler unit without the water.
In fairness the heat mode does work reasonably well but conducting tests on power usage given internal wiring suggests this will not save you much money.
There is no case to buy one of these.
Classic case of Social Media Platforms needing to be made accountable for allowing this sort of advertising to exist.
Purchase at your peril.
Do not purchase this product. It is nothing but trash. Unbranded, doesn't work and I'm appalled that they get away with it.
If I could give -stars it would be -5 worst scamming company ever please Australia block such evil and stop people getting scammed PayPal also step in even when I had to send back had to pay $20 dollars postage please read reviews and stop being scammed
Absolute waste of money DO NOT BUY! Claims to be an Australian company but price is USD, so roughly $270
A cheap pedestal fan does far better.
Customer service is pitiful. Inboxes full (full of complaints probably), getting the return address is like pulling teeth, even via telephone.
Thankfully I paid thru PayPal and they finally responded via the PayPal dispute portal. Got a return address, and a refund, but they jibbed me $10 USD (close to $30 Aus). Bastards.
Oh, and check your PayPal, they had me down for recurring payments. Actual bastards!
