Staff are not the most professional

Staff are not the most professional. They also lie about the product you’re getting and paying good money for. They also lied about how you can pay for it. They prefer the less safe options for some reason. First time renting a van and they made it so I never want to rent a vehicle again. I’ll just buy one instead. Would NOT recommend. Halifax, King’s Cross branch.

Absolute shambles

Absolute shambles. The car broke down at around 3pm on a Monday, so my wife called the recovery number only to be told that because the car was still under warranty it would need to be dealt with by the manufacturer dealership. She called them and was told they couldn’t help because she wasn’t the owner. She relayed this to Enterprise and was told she would be called back………..This did not happen that day. Suffice to say, as far as Enterprise were aware at this point she was on the side of the road waiting for assistance in the middle of a city alone and I can only presume they were ok with her spending the night in the car too.
THE FOLLOWING DAY she called in the morning and was told they world sort something out and call back. By mid day she had heard nothing.

For context. My wife was travelling alone. This was a 2 day work related trip with a fixed itinerary of events to attend. She was forced to abandon the car and take her personal and work belongings using buses and taxis to get to her hotel for the evening. The following day she had to do the same thing for each venue on her itinerary which were spread across the city.
The customer service is so incredibly poor that it is misleading to refer to it as “service”. Not returning calls is beyond rude. It’s sad that it needs to be said but abandoning a lone female with a broken down car is shameful. The fact that you are coursed into purchasing recovery because it’s the only way to get the tyre/wheel cover and then find the recovery is essentially none existent is verging on fraudulent. In essence they could not have failed more completely.
The void between upper management and the rental locations is filled with staff who wondering around with tablets, smiling and trying to look useful but seemingly have not a clue or a care in the world. Once it gets close to 5 pm they are more concerned with getting out of the door on time.
There is a VERY real reason for the poor customer rating. Be warned. A measure of any organisation is how they deal with problems- Enterprise demonstrate exactly what should not happen EVER. Getting it right now and then is not good enough if you are hiring cars to individuals let alone families or more vulnerable people in general. Offering extra insurance options should leave you feeling more reassured but should not simply leave you out of pocket. It certainly didn’t make the standard of service better, nor should it.
I can only hope that this review puts you off using Enterprise. I doubt it will prompt any attempt to improve the “service “ they feel they are offering.

It is no surprise that they do not have and email and the complaints procedure has to start at branch level. It is left to them to decide If the complaints require escalation. This is essentially like the head office management putting their fingers in their ears.

Enterprise Banbury

Enterprise Banbury. A disgrace. Was told by the first person 6 hours for a replacement car. Then phoned after 4 hours after hearing nothing. they then said it would no longer be the same class car as it was supposed to be. I have brand new Porsche panamera they were giving me a mini! They then said it wont be 6 hours and they were doing me a favour by dropping it off! They then said between 10 and 4 the next day. It gets to 2 oclock and they said they would miss the deadline. I said the service was s h. i. t and they then said they would not give me a car. Avoid these people

Excellent customer service!

Excellent service from Joe, Rhiannon, Shak and the rest of the team at Enterprise St George, Bristol. When the vehicle we had originally booked developed a fault, the team went above and beyond to find us an alternative vehicle which we loved! Would definitely use again!

Terrible customer service from the…

Terrible customer service from the Digbeth Branch couldn’t find me on the data base from the beginning it’s only when I had to get in touch with Emily from EB crash repair, who called them & they decided to go ahead with giving me a courtesy car which came in a filthy state, on arrival I noticed it was dented from the front left wing with scratch marks, not only this the inside back seats had white patch marks, to add the car air con & heating system smelt awful made me feel sick. The drive was so rough on it brakes /clutch worn out. Had it not been for work I wouldn’t have even bothered taking it. I spoke with Alexander the branch manager on 28/3 & raised my concern he decided to offer me £50 compensation for lack of customer service & guess what it’s been over 10 working days no sign of refund. I was honestly hoping better from the branch manager. It wasn’t even about the money it’s the principle of delivering great customer service which they have failed on. Don’t think il ever be using them again neither will I recommend them to anyone. They get a 1 star rating from me.

No problems here

When my Mini broke down a courtesy car was arranged for me through Enterprise. I was badly let down by another car rental company so my expectations weren't high. Once they received the booking from the garage an Enterprise employee from the Thornton Heath branch contacted me within 30 minutes. He advised that they could get a car to me by 2pm the same day. Following his call I was contacted by someone else from Enterprise who made sure I was satisfied so far with the service. The car was delivered well before 2pm by 2 very nice gentlemen who ran through the paperwork, payment and controls of the car with me. I had the car for 2 days, until my own car was repaired. Returning it was easy. I dropped it off at the garage and they contacted Enterprise to collect it. I also phoned and spoke to the branch so they knew where the car was. I would recommend the Enterprise, Thornton Heath branch as I had a very smooth car rental experience with them.

Compassionate staff

Following an accident, I needed to have a courtesy car. At the same time as this my mother had been taken into hospital and my father was end of life whilst my insurance claim was going through. The staff at your Tunbridge Wells branch were very kind and understanding ensuring I had the right vehicle for me that I felt comfortable with, so a big ‘Thank you’ to Fola and the team.

rented a car via Alamo (part of Enterprise), terrible experience, you will not get the car you reserved (not even the same category). Once we complaint, we were caught "on small print and technicalities" - very unhelpful and inconsiderate customer service. Stay away at all costs - especially when you want to reserve a car for your holidays!

I would give this zero stars if I could. No communication, no follow-up, zero customer service, and random billing for an insurance rental agreement. I was told one thing by the insurance company and the repair show, and Enterprise did the exact opposite. Despite my reaching out (after being threatened with legal action??????), my inquiries went somewhere into the ether. I sent more than 10 emails in hopes of better communication and received zero response. I would absolutely NOT recommend this Enterprise location and after this experience, Enterprise in general.

Rented a Nissan Quashqai from Enterprise Chesterfield
The car ended up in a Police compound.
Enterprise Chesterfield told me the car was accident damaged & undrivable & wouldn't tell me where the car was located. After some detective work I located the vehicle & went to inspect to find the car was perfect & undamaged.
Took photos & confronted Enterprise.
They're now backtracking, but meanwhile took £1500 from my bank without authorisation. Confronted again & told me it would be refunded after "costs" were deducted.
Dishonest company, steer clear

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE or CARE !!!

If I could rate -0- I would. Made reservation with pick up to coordinate w car accident repair as recommended by Allstate. Specifically reserved a mid size SUV. Was dropped off with an hour to get to an important mtg only to find they cldnt find the reservation & didnt have a mid size SUV. On-site manager had ZERO customer service skills. Young smug woman who cared less & then remarkably despite refused to rent me a car because I had the nerve to express my displeasure. I had to call someone to come & pick me up & delay our repair. Reached out to the Regional Manager asking him to call in 4 emails w/o even the courtesy of a reply. And this is an org that has the nerve to have posters on their walls that say "Putting you first is our first priority"

Enterprise Left My Family Stranded at Midnight – Disgraceful and Unforgivable

I have never experienced such appalling, incompetent and downright irresponsible service from any company in my life.

Months in advance, my wife and I pre-booked a vehicle with Enterprise Rent-A-Car for a trip to Brisbane to visit my elderly and very ill mother. We were travelling with our young child and had carefully planned everything to make the trip as smooth as possible.

Enterprise completely destroyed those plans.

On 15 January 2026, we arrived at Brisbane Domestic Airport at around 10:30pm. Our booking confirmation from Enterprise specifically instructed us to collect the car from the International Terminal, even though there is a perfectly good Enterprise pickup point at the Domestic Terminal. Before our flight we tried calling Enterprise at least FIVE times to confirm whether we could change the pickup location. Not a single call was answered.

Assuming the International Terminal instruction was due to our late arrival time, we gathered our exhausted child and all our luggage and paid for a taxi to take us from the Domestic Terminal to the International Terminal.

When we arrived at the Enterprise counter, we were greeted by a sign saying the office was unmanned due to “staff shortages” and that we had to go BACK to the Domestic Terminal to collect our car.

No email.
No text message.
No phone call.
No warning whatsoever.

So once again, late at night with a tired child and a mountain of luggage, we paid for another taxi back to the Domestic Terminal.

By the time we finally got back there – around 11:30pm – the Enterprise office was CLOSED.

Enterprise had literally sent us on a pointless, exhausting, expensive wild goose chase between terminals to offices they couldn’t even be bothered staffing.

We were left stranded near midnight in a city we don’t live in, with a young child and no transport.

Customer service? Non-existent.
The phone number provided in the booking confirmation went unanswered.

No after-hours support.
No emergency assistance.
Nothing.

After all of this, we had no choice but to pay yet another taxi fare into the city to our accommodation and make completely new arrangements for transport the next day at significant additional cost.

When I called Enterprise the following morning, I explained exactly what had happened and demanded an immediate full refund. I was told to send an email to customer service and that someone would contact me promptly.

That was FIVE DAYS AGO.
Not a single phone call.
Not a single email.
Not even a courtesy text message to acknowledge the complaint.

Enterprise left my family stranded at midnight based on false and misleading information, failed to communicate office closures, failed to answer their phones, and have since failed to take any responsibility whatsoever.

As a direct result of their incompetence, I have incurred several hundred dollars in additional taxi fares and the cost of hiring another vehicle at the last minute. More importantly, the delays caused meant I lost precious time visiting my seriously ill mother.

Enterprise’s behaviour has been nothing short of disgraceful.

I am extremely familiar with Australian Consumer Law and consumer guarantees, and I fully intend to pursue this matter to recover every dollar I am owed, along with the additional expenses their negligence has caused.

I will also make sure as many people as possible know exactly how Enterprise treats its customers.

If you value your time, your money, and your family, DO NOT trust Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

They cannot be relied upon when it matters most.

Update:
5 days on and I still have had no reply whatsoever form Enterprise. However I did manage to get hold of one of the managers and was told that the reason I incurred additional cab fares is because of decisions I chose to make and apparently there was a free bus service, therefore, the company is not at fault as a result of what happened.

The incompetence is absolutely astounding, the unprofessional behaviour and lack of any form of customer service is mind-boggling. This company has more care factor towards its customers, it will take your money and then youre on your own when something goes wrong.

Faulty/unsafe vehicle given

I was handed a vehicle in an unsafe condition something that should never happen. I immediately contacted the depot where I collected the car to report a serious safety issue. The advice I was given was utterly useless and showed a complete lack of concern for my safety.

When I called back to request compensation, I was insultingly offered just £50 off. For a genuine safety risk, this was unacceptable. At minimum, half of the rental should have been considered.

Days later, a manager contacted me and dismissively claimed there was “nothing wrong” with the vehicle, despite me providing clear photographic evidence. They showed no interest in listening, investigating properly, or taking responsibility.

I escalated this all the way to the CEO and was told someone would be in touch. Two weeks have now passed with absolutely no contact. The silence speaks volumes.

This entire experience has been appalling, disgusting, and deeply disappointing especially after being a loyal customer for many years. The complete disregard for customer safety and basic decency has ensured I will never use this company again.

Scam Company! Don't ever use them!!!

SUCH AN INEFFICIENT, CLUELESS, UNORGANISED COMPANY that I will never use again. Drivalia and Sixt are x100 times better. TRUST ME, AVOID ENTERPRISE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!
I made a car booking with a debit card online, Enterprise phoned me back and said they only accept same day bookings without a credit card and I will receive a refund within 10 days. That was over 40 days ago and Im still waiting. They said every time I phone asking why I have nt received my money they will add another 10 working days to the wait! They said that the issue is being sorted out in USA even though the booking was in the UK.
Absolutely uselass. Never again!
