Is a zero star rating available?

I rented a car on a Saturday by phone, and one hour later I Ubered to the car center, only to be told no cars were available. I showed my confirmation email, and the agent simply shrugged. I got ANOTHER Uber home, and tried calling both the local center and corporate. I got 3 different people, all of whom said they would escalate to a manager to get my car situation resolved. Not a single person called back.

On Monday, I called corporate again, and got a very sympathetic person, who said she would make sure I got a car. She called the local center, to no avail, so sent them a message asking them to call me. Again, nothing.

I would NEVER, EVER, EVER rent from Enterprise as 1) they have no idea what inventory is actually available at their locations , and 2) customer support is non-existent,

I ended up renting from a competitor who had a car when they committed to one.

I had a very traumatic experience with the Lawton–Fort Sill Enterprise Rent-A-Car service personnel. I reported my concerns to the manager, and I was pleasantly surprised when Heather, the manager, personally reached out to me. She was compassionate, understanding, and took the time to listen. She was able to resolve the issue, and I am truly grateful for her support. I’m very happy with the outcome. I would definitely use the company again.

Thank you for the wonderful service I received from Karl at enrterprise, Briarhill, Galway, this afternoon. Having had an extremely difficult service from a dealership in Briarhill, when my car was recalled, and caused such stress. It was such a pleasure to get such wonderful customer service from Karl. Would highly r recommend enterprise.

Enterprise Car Rental

I reserved a car rental a week in advance for 13 and 14 May in Schertz,Texas. I called on Monday 11 May to get a pickup at 12:30 on Wednesday. I called on Wednesday at 7:45 to verify my 12:30 pickup. I called Enterprise at 12:45 when they did not show up. I was told that I did not have a pickup scheduled. I cancelled my reservation at 12:45. At 1:45 a driver called me to say he was outside my house. I had left an hour earlier. This is the second time that this has occurred. Enterprise should not advertise pickup if they are unable or unwilling to provide the service.

Unauthorised £699 charge for a 3mm chip – Breach of contract

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Enterprise Bolton branch (Rental Agreement: 2Q1S0L). Despite my rental agreement explicitly stating a £0.00 Damage/Theft Excess, Enterprise proceeded to deduct £699 from my personal bank account without authorisation. The charge is for a minor windscreen chip, which is objectively less than 3mm in diameter (photos taken with a scale for evidence). According to BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standards, damage under 10mm in Zone A is repairable. However, the branch staff (Ref: Huzzy) admitted during a phone call that while the chip "could probably be repaired," they chose to replace the entire windscreen as a "commercial decision" for the next customer. This is a clear violation of several points:Breach of Contract: My excess is contracted at £0.00. There is no legal basis for Enterprise to bypass this and charge my card directly. Failure to Mitigate Loss: Charging £699 for a repairable 3mm chip is completely disproportionate. A resin repair would cost under £100. Unauthorised Transaction: The vehicle was provided via insurance cover (esure), yet Enterprise ignored the protocol and charged my personal card instead of settling with the insurer. I have already initiated a formal dispute and a chargeback through my bank. I strongly advise others to be careful when providing card details to this company, as they seem to ignore their own signed contracts and industry standards.

Update but still the same

Hertz ended up not being the company that supplied my rental. I called and visited other Enterprise locations and didn't get a vehicle. However...I talked to another representative that attempted to help. Once again I was told someone would call to rectify the situation and no one called...again.

People were great, vehicles are terrible! La Mesa CA

Tried to rent a car at the La Mesa CA location - I'm going to write two reviews - one about the people working there, and one about the company itself. I would have given 5 starts for the people. I worked with RJ, Jesse, and one other man whose name I don't remember. They were all so pleasant and helpful. They were patient even when I was frustrated by the lack of suitable cars for rent. It's unfortunate that they are left with so few cars to rent but it's not their fault. On my third visit to swap cars yet again, he got a returned car out of the line and had it cleaned up for me, and thought to complete the paperwork while the car was prepared to get me on the road quicker. Just one suggestion for Jesse - when you say you will wait for me to arrive after hours, please be there. Thankfully there was the third man there to kindly help me even though he was busy and they were officially closed - you know who you are, sorry I can't remember your name.

Unfortunately everything else about this experience was a disaster. My BMW 2 series was in the shop. On Wednesday I reserved a "small luxury sedan" on the Enterprise website. When I arrived on Thursday to pick it up, all they had were two SUVs. That is not small nor sedan. I needed something so I took the Audi. It was the most uncomfortable vehicle I've ever been in. I'm 5'0" so I need lots of seat adjustment and this vehicle didn't have it. The headrest leaned so far forward that I couldn't sit up straight to drive.

I brought it back at end of day - all they had to put me in was a crappy old Toyota Camry - says it's 2025 but looked like 1999 inside. It stunk inside of cleaners - the smell got in my hair and I smelled it all day. Seat adjustments were manual and again I could not make it comfortable - it hurt my knees. Back again I go on Friday to trade it for a crappy Toyota Corolla 2024 very basic, again only manual seat adjustment, no USB ports - don't all cars post 1999 have USB ports? It smelled bad too but not as bad as the other one so I put odor absorbers in it. I added two seat cushions to make the seat comfortable enough to drive. I can reach the pedals just barely. I just can't go back again to see if there's something better.

Someone there told me flat out that they NEVER have BMWs for rent like the website claims, and rarely have Mercedes sedans. I don't understand it - I'm willing to pay the higher rate so why can't they keep some nicer cars around? He said they mainly have SUVs because that's what most people want and cheap sedans for those who don't want to pay much. I called another Enterprise on Lytton and the man said they also only have SUVs. Maybe you must go to the airport to get a decent sedan? I'd be embarrassed to rent the two Toyotas I tried. Maybe if they started with a nicer vehicle it would hold up better. But they go cheap and the client suffers the consequences.

BTW nothing in their on-hold message is accurate - "clean maintained vehicles," "give every customer a great experience," "variety of vehicles," "get the vehicle you need," "standard of care," and "PUT YOU FIRST." All gross exaggerations - the experience was miserable.

I will probably try Hertz next time but I imagine they are just as bad. Turo has limited vehicles and IDK how long I will need a car - just praying they fix mine soon. I've always been grateful to drive a BMW - now I will absolutely worship that car, having experienced how bad some others can be.

A Stellar Experience

I'm going out of my way trying to leave a positive review for the Lewisville, TX(Stemmons Frwy) location who provided a stellar and accommodating rental experience from start to finish. There was a very positive spirit with everyone that I interacted with.
My only complaint is with the Enterprise website where I couldn't find anywhere to leave a complimentary reservation.

Absolutely fuming!

Absolutely fuming!! Rented a car after a no fault accident (not by choice) I thought I'd get a courtesy car as standard anyway when I picked the car up the customer service women went around the car with me using a little device for measuring scratches /chips she pointed out a particular chip and measured it saying its within the radius so wouldn't class as damage, then she did it on another scuff/chip and said the same thing....I have just returned the car and they have just sent me a bill for the damage. What a scam!!

The rental car should have been paid by…

The rental car should have been paid by the insurance company since I was rear-ended and therefore I am not at fault for the accident. Even Enterprise confirmed this to me, yet they sent me away without asking for any payment. Now, today, they continue chasing me demanding $400 for the rental. This is truly unbelievable and unacceptable. #Enterprise #BocaRaton

Horrible, wasn't a pleasant experience

They charged me an additional $900 for winter tires that I never requested. Every effort I made to resolve the issue was unsuccessful. Managers refused to take calls, I was forced to repeat myself multiple times, and I still received neither a refund nor receipts for the questionable charge. They also failed to follow the instructions provided by my insurance company regarding the vehicle specifications that should have been given to me after my accident, yet they still charged me for a service I never asked for.

handing me consequences for their own mistake

i've been renting from enterprise for over 25 years and would consider myself a very good customer. Until now. I will never rent from Enterprise again after the fiasco that they have caused. I rented a car last fall and how to make an insurance claim for significant damage caused by debris on the road. I called enterprise and reported the damage and promptly received a claim number from my insurance company for the repairs. Upon returning the car I explained to the man at our local enterprise what it happened and pointed out the damage. Months later I am receiving angry emails from Enterprise saying that I owed money for repairs. Baffled, as my insurance company had issued a check and I have been charged by enterprise my thousand dollar deductible. Upon looking into it it turns out that the employee only reported half of the damage. Enterprise made an error even after I explained to them what had occurred . even though this was their mistake of course I'm responsible for the rest of the damages. The problem comes in with the employee I had to deal with online with Enterprise. and course of finding out what the real story was I was receiving threatening emails from Enterprise. Even after reporting the second part of the claim (based on Enterprise's error not mine) to my insurance these threatening emails continued and Enterprise put me on the do not rent list when my husband tried to rent they accused him of being me and refused to rent to him ( he has a girl's name I have a boy's name). This is with the drivers license with his information being presented to them. After the insurance company mailed the check the horrible employee with Enterprise that I was dealing with put my debt into collections. This is after reaching an agreement with my insurance company to make payment. All of this is based on an error made by the company not by me. I have to now hire a lawyer to clear my credit and hope that they take me off the do not rent list. The company has been paid and they continue to harass me. I absolutely do not recommend ever renting from enterprise. Clearly they have a staffing problem, listening problem, and a problem communicating with each other.

This review is for the Enterprise…

This review is for the Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Springfield, IL (east side).

Enterprise provided me with the worst rental car experience of my life. I reserved a car over a month before the scheduled 4/25/26 pick up date. When I arrived, they told me they had no cars, but I was welcome to wait in hopes that one would return, which it never did after waiting an hour and a half.

I was under the impression that if I reserved a car one would be there for me.It was like the Seinfeld episode - 'you know how to take the reservation, but you don't know how to hold the reservation.

Horrible, horrible business. Rude employees. But how can a company accept a reservation and then have no cars?! Can hotels do this with room reservations? Can restaurants do this with dinner reservations? If you don't know if there will be any cars available, DON'T TAKE THE RESERVATION!

The manager tried to tell me that a reservation with Enterprise was not a guarantee of a car. WTF! I will certainly not be renting from them again. Fortunately Hertz came through for me with a car, with no reservation and at a lower price!

Don't rent from this horrible company. I hope they go the way of Spirit Airlines.
