Horrible company!!! Stay away. Former Mc solar back office. Very unprofessional. Customer service is nonexistent.
In August 2023, I purchased a whole-home solar system with battery backup from Energy Harbor LLC (Tampa, FL). The system was supposed to power my home during outages and reduce my electric bill.
Installed in October 2023, it failed inspection twice, yet loan payments started in December 2023 for a system that wasn’t working—and I still had to pay my full electric bill. The system didn’t pass final inspection until April 2024, but even after that, it has never worked as promised.
Key issues:
• Intermittent power loss to my sub-panel (which should always stay powered via battery).
• Complete system failure during power outages—the system provides no backup at all.
• One inverter failed twice; it took months to get warranty replacements from China.
• Renogy X (the manufacturer) admitted the system was never producing the power I was sold.
• Improper installation required the system to be rewired in 2025 during the second inverter replacement.
Despite repeated service requests, Energy Harbor stopped responding and pushed the issue to Renogy X, who has also been unresponsive. I am now stuck with a long-term loan for a system that doesn’t function, still paying full utility bills, and getting no support.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. This has been a financially and emotionally exhausting experience, and I am now pursuing further action through appropriate consumer protection channels.
