Emirates’ Misleading Visa Info Cost Me Time and Over 11,000 DKK

I booked my tickets with Emirates on 29 May 2025 and, as instructed in the “Manage Your Booking” section, applied for a UAE transit visa via their listed partner, VFS Global (DVPC.net).

As a Pakistani national living in Denmark, I trusted this official-looking process. But after paying 2,200 DKK for the visa, I was told by VFS support (after submitting everything) that transit visa services for Pakistanis are suspended. There was no warning or disclaimer on VFS or Emirates’ website.

Due to this, I had no option but to cancel my Emirates tickets, which cost me an additional 8,800 DKK in penalties. That’s over 11,000 DKK lost because Emirates is still linking passengers to a visa service that is not available to certain nationalities without informing them.

This is not only misleading, but also incredibly irresponsible. Emirates should not promote services through its platform that are not actually being provided especially when it leads to real financial loss for customers. If the visa partner has suspended services for certain nationalities, Emirates must disclose that clearly or remove the link altogether.

Disappointed and frustrated. I expected better from an airline of this reputation.

I am at Dubai Airport exprience

I am at Dubai Airport. When I checked in and was given boarding pass it said gate number B30.
But when entered inside on the departure board information it said gate B32. So I went to gate B32 and waited. 30 minutes before the flight I realise some thing is not right as gate B32 was still closed. So I went back to gate B30 to recheck. Gate 30 was being closed and I was told to wait and they have to call people in the plane to see if it is OK. No one picked up the phone and number of calls were made. 12 minutes later when some one picked up the phone B30 gate staff was informed that the plane just detached from the stairs and not possible to enter.
Now Emirate wants me to pay for the new ticket.
Gate B30 staff did admit that there was a temp change to B32 gate and it was changed back. At gate B32 there is no departure information board near by .
So I missed the flight due to misinformation and Emirate airline fault. Emirate is being very heavy handed in asking me to pay. Which is all wrong.very very unhelpful staff.
Do not travel by this air line. This is my first and last time I will travel

Lost/ delayed bags over 80 days

It has been 80 days, and they still haven’t found my lost bag. Instead of taking responsibility, they keep making excuses and refuse to compensate me for my loss. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and mentally exhausting. It’s disappointing to see how their reputation is deteriorating due to such poor customer service. I expected professionalism, but all I’ve received is negligence. Truly disappointed!

Disappointing Experience with Emirates…

Disappointing Experience with Emirates – Worst Airline Food Ever!

I recently flew Emirates from Copenhagen to Dubai, and while I had high expectations based on their reputation, my experience was quite the opposite.

First of all, it took more than two hours after takeoff just to be served a glass of water. That’s unacceptable on a long-haul flight, especially considering how important hydration is. The wait for even the most basic service was frustrating.

The biggest disappointment, however, was the food—without a doubt, the worst I’ve ever had on an airline. The meal in economy class was disgusting, consisting of artificial meat products and cheap, artificial-tasting chocolate. It was clear that Emirates had cut costs to the extreme, ordering the cheapest possible catering rather than providing a quality dining experience. It was nothing like what you see in YouTube videos—those must be misleading or outdated. This was an absolute disaster compared to airlines like Qatar Airways or Singapore Airlines.

Unless Emirates offers highly competitive prices in the future (which they usually don’t), I will choose another airline. Everything else was not better or worse than other major airlines, and the in-flight entertainment was okay but nothing special.

Overall, Emirates fell way below expectations, especially when it comes to food quality. I expected much better.

Would I fly with them again? Only if the price was significantly lower than the competition. Otherwise, I’d rather go with an airline that still cares about quality.

Mental stress caused my Emirates employees

Before booking my flights to Dubai one of the elements that caused me to book with you was the complimentary shuttle to Abu Dhabi. Having arrived in Dubai, we realized we hadn’t pre-booked. After talking to a customer service worker on the phone she informed us that we could just use our boarding passes to take the bus and the same on return. On the way back to Dubai we arrived at the shuttle bus stop to be informed that this was not possible because our flight was not in the next 24 hours. We were dismissed very quickly and the customer service was some of the worst I have ever experienced. I repeatedly insisted that this is not stated on the Emirates website, and I was not informed of this by the lady on the phone. I refuted the false advertisement and terrible treatment of paying customers. After a 20 minute conversation the employee “Mashar Abdulla” finally agreed with me that it was not stated in the terms and conditions on the website, that I was right but he didn’t want the black mark on his record despite us being in the right. This was very disappointing and much less than I would expect from a representative of Emirates. He very cleverly waited until the bus had left before agreeing with us also. With us being very frustrated with the situation he gave us his word that if we took a taxi or Uber emirates would pay the charge due to their misinformation both on the website and from the employee I spoke to on the phone. It was also a fairer option than taking the public bus which would take us double the expected travel time than with the shuttle bus. We are obviously very disappointed and frustrated over the total lack of flexibility, on your feet thinking and customer care from the emirates staff and also surprised that the service level was so low. Now Emirates are of course refusing to compensate us and more than that the response I received was so obviously a blanket message and the employee clearly hadn't even bothered to read my complaint. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR ECONOMY CUSTOMERS!!

The pain that emirates has caused to me…

The pain that emirates has caused to me is just to the extreme. Emirates turned away my son with disability after all the phone calls and planning prior to the flight. On the day of flight, they sent him back home. !!!!!! Emirates!!!! I don’t have words to express my disappointment. We live in an inclusive world . Disability is not inability.people living with disability are also humans. What you did has traumatised me and my son. Emirates!!!! I don’t know how I will forgive you but anyway Allah knows better. Vengeance is for the creator. But Emirates!!!!!! How can I forgive you???????!!!!!!

A380 BIGGLY AIRCRAFT PUNY ECONOMY SEATS

Emirates trades on its reputation as one of the best of the best. It was true 20+ years ago when Skywards membership was the best benefit they offered. Since then they have cut back on the miles credited depending on which class of travel you choose including which type of ticket you buy. The lowest priced economy ticket gets you 800 miles today on a 3,000 mile journey DXB to BKK.

I travelled with EK374 on 6 Nov 2024. The seat 60G was cramped even for normal sized people in adjacent rows whose knees were hard pressed against the seat in front. For me a 2m giant it was impossible to sit in any comfort. This was made worse when Giuseppe (known to crew) an Italian peasant sitting in 59G fully reclined his seat even before take off and kept it that way throughout the flight. He pretended not to know English when I asked him politely if he would adjust his seat to the upright position. The crew refused to ask him to do so. Instead they released the outside armrest of my aisle seat so I could sit side saddle with my legs partially blocking the aisle except when standing to release the cramp in my legs. I remonstrated with the crew to no avail. They would not assist in any way and when asked to be moved they shrugged the request saying the flight was full. That was a lie it was busy but not 100% full. There was a time when Emirates crew would have observed a passengers dilemma and do something to help without being asked. Not this lot, they are the worst crew I have ever flown with on Emirates in more than 30 years of travelling with them. (I was a previous Gold Member of Skywards so over the years they have done handsomely out of me revenue wise). So no meal almost no drinks service no sleep or rest and feeling like death warmed up on arrival having done a full days work in an office before the flight.

My return journey on 21 Nov 2024 EK375 was equally as bad. This time the aisle side armrest on seat 70C could not be raised. I sat semi-sideways throughout the flight. Again no offer from the crew to assist nor an offer of an alternate seat. They just ignore you - prima donnas in red lipstick who think they are something off the catwalk in their designer outfits. No meal, it was a rank offering anyway of sea bream or a yellow chicken curry that I wouldn't have fed to my dog if I had one.

To demonstrate how utterly useless this crew were there were 3 guys sitting in a row behind me getting steadily drunk as the flight progressed. Towards the end of the flight they were joking and swearing so loud that everyone in section D could hear them. The exception of course were the crew who pretended not to hear.

No Emirates you are not amongst the best. You are one grade below abysmal as far as Economy passenger travel is concerned. On a large aircraft like the A380 on a long haul route with some 500+ passengers on board you are coining it. The seating arrangements other than First or Business are such that I wonder why you allow any seat pitch at all in Economy. That way you could probably cram 1000 Economy travellers in - standing room only!

Over the years you as a Company have become complacent. Your senior management from the Chairman down need to get off your office seat from behind your plush desks and fly Economy on your own aircraft and be made to do so until you up your game and decide to make flying Economy with Emirates a pleasant experience once again not some torture to be endured for hours on end. Instead of a chauffered limousine to and from the airport travel by ordinary taxi or even public transport and experience what an awful offering you are giving the majority of your passengers.

Stop being money grabbers and start offering value for money and a pleasant flying experience as it was 20-30 years ago. Take a few rows of seats out of your ginormous aircraft and give your Economy passengers somewhere to park their legs. Better still give them some extra width in the seats. Humans are getting larger, aircraft seating space is reducing. There's something wrong with your model. Change it.

Review of Emirates Business Class

Review of Emirates Business Class: A Journey to Remember

Flying business class with Emirates for the first time was a revelation—a reminder of how air travel can still feel like an experience, rather than just a means to a destination. From start to finish, Emirates truly lived up to its reputation for excellence.

The Emirates Experience: Stepping on board, I was warmly greeted by the crew, whose attentiveness and professionalism set the tone for the entire flight. The cabin was immaculate, with every detail crafted for luxury and comfort. Emirates’ business class truly feels like a return to the elegance of a bygone era of flying, where the journey itself is an occasion.

The Seat and Cabin: The seat was spacious, adjustable to a fully flat bed, and designed to maximize privacy and convenience. There was ample space for everything I needed, including a large entertainment screen with an impressive selection of movies, TV shows, and more. It felt like a private retreat at 35,000 feet.

Dining Onboard: The food was nothing short of exceptional. The multi-course menu featured beautifully presented, gourmet-quality dishes that could easily rival a fine dining restaurant. Every meal was accompanied by an impressive selection of wines and champagne, thoughtfully curated to match the cuisine. Even the smallest details, like the freshly baked bread and signature Arabic coffee with dates, made the meal feel special.

Service Excellence: The Emirates crew went above and beyond, attentive without being intrusive, always ensuring that every need was met. They seemed genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience for passengers. This level of personal care and commitment to quality is rare in modern air travel.

In Summary: My first flight in Emirates business class was a journey I’ll never forget. From the incredible food to the luxurious, well-appointed cabin and stellar staff, every moment felt like a celebration of the joy of travel. Emirates has set the bar high, and it’s easy to see why they’re celebrated worldwide. If you’re looking for a travel experience that blends modern luxury with a touch of old-world elegance, Emirates business class is truly a cut above.

We should fly from Bangkok to Dubai 27 February 2024.
We bought twinseats. But few days after we paid for the seat reservation, Emirates sent a mail and told us our seat reservation was cancelled and we will be seated on standard seats. The PAYMENT was NOT refunded - they steal money from customers with these seat scam
WE WILL NOT USE EMIRATES AGAIN.

We all experice good and bad in all…

We all experice good and bad moments in all airlines now and then, so it is unfair to say because I had a bad experience once so the airline is not good anymore .
in my experiences through years with emirates treading coach passengers has changed a little toward the not important passangers
We all know the airline makes money on business and first class passengers but those who fly coach are also know quality and service
I would have given emirates 5 stars 7 years ago but 3 today

Emirates ground staff in heathrow…

Emirates ground staff in heathrow terminal 3 should be bit more polite to passengers. Some are still not Familiar with new self checkin system. Some of the staff is very rude. They need to understand happy passengers pay the wages. There was a guy trying to check his baggages through the system, but he was struggling . Staff didn't really help him. She said do this do that from the distance. Not very proffesional for an airline like Emirates .

Emirates is a good airline

Emirates is a good airline, but a bit on the pricey side.

The best part of Emirates when compared to similar airlines has to be the selection of lounges in DXB.

When it comes to the onboard experience, Emirates are good but not necessarily better than their direct competition.

Frequent flyers to Dubai DXB will appreciate how easy it is to get in and out of the airport.

Travelling from Sydney to Dubai on…

Travelling from Sydney to Dubai on 13/03/2023. We boarded about 6pm in Sydney and travelled on the very large 800 airbus to Dubai.
We were at the back of the aircraft in economy seats. We were last to be served a meal and I later realised that I had been given a hot dish that someone had eaten all the bits of chicken and I was left with a stirred up mess of rice. Then i felt a long human hair(350/400cm)in my mouth. I gently pulled it out and up came food at the other end. It was disgusting. I don't think I will fly with Emirates again.
