Don’t Forget to Wipe

Wipe Record, an expungement service of Eastman Meyler PC, is appropriately named. They wiped up a royal mess created by a few corrupt Chicago cops in 1991. Further, it’s a mess that should’ve never happened. I was arrested in 1991 on false charges that were later dismissed in court. No problem, other than it occurred in the first place. I took a small settlement for my inconvenience, went on with my life, and didn’t know there was a problem till I had to cross the Canadian Border. Our Northern neighbors tend to frown on criminal activity and I don’t blame them. Turns out the Chicago Bluebloods never properly put in the final deposition for the case. And, thanks to the Canadian professionals for letting me know this. With this knowledge, I contacted my [former] prepaid legal services which was useless. Being fair, I won’t mention their name but their initials are TVC. They referred me to a Chicago lawyer who wanted $5k up front and he informed me that my case would have to be re-opened; it would cost up to $25k when finished; that he was the most experienced; and there were no guarantees. I declined his services and this was my last dealings with the service that referred him as well. It was like I was expected to pay for someone else’s mistake.
I found Wipe Record through a Web search and their results were opposite of my earlier experiences. Turns out, the expungement system is corrupt in that I indeed had to pay for someone else’s mistake. However, Wipe Record’s experienced legal staff got it done at a fraction of the cost. $1300 as compared to $5000 to start. The results were more than what I expected. That is, they not only got the highly corrupt Chicago Government to do its job, Wipe Record rubbed the City’s nose in its own mess through a vigorous enforcement service. No drama, no doom and gloom, just excellent results.
