Right Pen...Wright Time.
I placed an order for an Emerald Green pen, which was also discounted as it was near to St. Patrick’s Day.
The pen arrived promptly in a protective padded envelope, inside a black leather-like presentation box. Also in the box were two black and one blue ink cartridges, plus a piston ink converter. The pen was further wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve, and contained a card with a QR code.
The pen itself is a beautiful vibrant emerald green, matched with gold coloured accents to the top and bottom of the pen, with an octagonal end to the pen cap.
Unfortunately, the barrel of the pen was too small for me to grip it, so sadly I am unable to comment on the writing experience.
Very reluctantly I had to get in touch with Ellington Pens to request a return.
I was asked to provide either a video or photos of the pen in its current condition so they could then guide me through the next procedure.
After sending in a photo of the pen, I had an email asking if I wanted a total refund, or would I like to keep the pen for 50% off to save me the trouble of posting it back.
As the pen was too thin for me to handle properly, I opted for a total refund, and to return the pen.
Within minutes I received notification that a full refund (less postage) was on its way.
I then had an email informing me that as well as the refund, I could also keep the pen as a gift from Ellington Pens.
I wrote back to say I did not mind posting the pen back to them, (It was my problem that I could not grip the pen ) but they were very kind and insisted I should keep the pen and that if I could not use it, then to gift it on to someone else.
The timings of all the correspondence (initially with Krystal then with Yeen) happened within about one hour.
They were polite, attentive, professional and extremely efficient.
I had a great customer experience with the team at Ellington Pens…thank you for your help.

Lack of contact following problem
Having purchased some pens (one was a free gift due to amount spent) and ink from Ellington Pens I have emailed twice over an issue with the purchased pen and still not had a reply some weeks later. No response on the phone or via message through Instagram. For a company that seems very able to bombard me with marketing material it's distinctly less willing when it comes to answering problem emails. I have now given up but will certainly not buy anything else from the company or recommend them. Problems happen but it's they way they're dealt with that counts. In contrast a Diplomat pen that developed a problem a year after purchase was put right without hesitation and quickly. What a contrast!
ELLINGTON PENS HAVE NOW REPLIED AND OFFERED AN EXPLANATION, A SOLUTION AND A FULLSOME APOLOGY.

Poor customer service response

Thank you everyone at Ellington. Have received a replacement set and delivered in super quick time. The two stars only relate to the lack of response, the pens I’ve purchased have all been good quality and a pleasure to use. I would change the rating to four if I could.
Ordered several items in the past and all been fine but my last order had items missing from the calligraphy set - including the pen! Cannot get anyone to respond to emails and the message box on the website doesn’t work. Really disappointed as the pens I already have are fine but the set is a gift and time is running out to replace.

Relaible and Comfortable
Took a while to arrive, it was worth the wait. The first fountain pen I have been able to rely on to actually write when I put it to paper. Also, it is solid and feels good in my hands — comfortable to write or draw with.

My Fountain Pen Order

Beware of this bundle issue
I don’t really want to give 3 stars but I wanted to get attention to this issue for your company and others. I love the pens they are good quality and write extremely well. I would stick with fine, the extra fine is a little finicky. You tend to have to write slower otherwise the ink skips. Let’s get to the 3 stars. I purchased the dynamic duo bundle, it was offered at a 25% discount over the already lower bundle price, however at check out the journal does not ship to the U.S. and I had to click to not include the journal as part of the bundle. In doing so, that reverted the bundle back to the original price as if I was purchasing each item separately. I had the welcome code for 15% which originally brought the bundled price down to 40% off. With the journal issue I only received the 15% off original price not the bundle price. So purchasers need to be aware of that issue. Love the pens might buy some additional ones once I get over the disappointment of this first purchase.

The pens are good just not right for my style of writing
This is an updated review, having gotten a reply from Ellington pens and they have now resolved the matter. I appreciate the fact they did this quickly and too my satisfaction.
I would recommend for anyone to try the pens but also a slight note to know returns may take a few emails and hopefully you get the matter resolved. As previously stated the pens are very nice but just not for me and my writing style. I have left some of the original review and updated too three stars because of this.
I bought pens on the understanding that the returns are allowed if you don’t like the pens. As someone that loves pens and has a small collection I thought let’s go for it. I found the pens to be nice but just not ones that I wanted to add to my collection and think personally they’re a little overpriced for what they are but totally understand why some people really like them.
I contacted customer service about returning my order of pens and a pencil. No response what so ever. I have emailed them multiple times and still not a single response. This is very poor for a company.
This matter has been resolved to my satisfaction and appreciate the company did resolve the issues.

Really disappointing experience
Really disappointing experience. I purchased my wife a pen from this company, she has numerous pens from this company already so i had faith it was a good company. Unfortunately she did not like the pen, just her preference, nothing wrong with the pen itself. She did however notice that i had paid £81.24 for a pen that is £59.95 on the website and postage is £4.95, again she was a regular customer so knew this information from previous purchases. When contacting Ellington Pens, the initial conversation was pleasant but very quickly became long winded and frustrating. They offered a replacement but when my wife chose an alternative pen they wanted us to cover postgage on a pen that was £59.95 when we had clearly already been overcharged on the first order. Really disappointed by this. My wife was a good customer and would of happily continued to purchase items from them but this experience has now tainted any good experience she previously had.

Buy this pen without reservations
I love my Ellington fountain pen. It writes beautifully and sits comfortably in my hand. I bought as a gift for myself. Unfortunately I started having trouble fitting he cartridges in the pen but when I reached out to Ellington they could not have been more responsive and helpful in resolving the issue.
