An item advertised at £13.99 cost £24.60 !
An item was advertised at £13.99 with £4.99 shipping and an additional £0.70 shipping insurance charge was added for some reason, bringing the total to £19.68 per their invoice. I authorised payment £19.68 and paid via PayPal.
However, I found that a further £4.92 VAT charge was applied to the PayPal invoice after payment, increasing the total to £24.60.
This charge was not disclosed or agreed to at the time of purchase. As a UK consumer, I expect pricing to be transparent and not misleading - the full cost should be clearly stated before payment not after.
After complaining to them they refunded the £4.92 VAT back to PayPal immediately citing a ‘system error’ as the cause.
