I approached Nicky at Eldercare for advice and guidance on care annuities.
After a couple of email exchanges I already felt in safe hands. Nicky’s advice was practical, covered all eventualities and delivered with compassion. The quotes received were extremely attractive to provide peace of mind with various options provided in respect of being linked to care cost increases etc. our circumstances dictated that the annuity wasn’t taken out due to circumstances, it was based on Nicky’s final advice - this shows that Nicky and the ethos of Eldercare is extremely ethical. I have no hesitation in sharing Nicky’s details and recommend Eldercare.

I was recommended Eldercare by various people on a FB finance group. I had never heard of them, or a care fee annuity, but was keen to explore ways of managing the expense associated with my Mum going into a care home. Right from the start, Eldercare were helpful, responsive and clear about what options I had from the relatively small number of insurers who offer this kind of annuity. I cannot fault the service received by every member of Eldercare staff I was in touch with over a period of two or three months (first Roger, then Nicky, and lastly and most particularly Tracy, who patiently explained every step and kept me updated throughout the process). Care fee annuities don't seem to be common knowledge, which I find surprising. They might not be right for everyone, but in our case they offer great peace of mind that, for a one-off premium, the annual shortfall between Mum's income and the care home fees will be paid for by the insurer as long as she lives. This means I've been able to ringfence the majority of the proceeds of the sale of her house, rather than watch it dwindle away year by year and wondering how long it'll last. Without Eldercare, I would not have had a clue how to set up this process. Massive weight off my mind.
