Navigating my way through the SPPA and pensions and lump sums and the McLeod judgement was a nightmare, and then someone gave me a name and number. Steven Haldane has provided excellent advice under the auspices of EISFS.. I feel safe in his and their hands.

Steve Haldane was extremely helpful in explaining all my options for planning my retirement. He gave me several clear options based on different retirement ages and this will allow me to plan for the future. He is very knowledgeable and answered any queries I had, and I now feel I can now make the best financial decisions for the future.

Having used EIS for Superannuation (NHS Pension) advice, I would highly recommend this company and in particular, Steven Haldane. Steven’s approach of practicality, personal-centred and friendly while being hugely knowledgeable made, what is a minefield, totally understandable for me.

Had a couple of meetings with Steven Haldane. He was excellent- taking time to understand my situation and giving me good practical advice about how to process my retirement application to SPPA and the best options for me.

EIS financial advisor searched hundreds of schemes and recommended to transfer accumulated pension pot to Quilter (Jan 2022). In fact, it was a EIS pension product hosted on the Quilter Investment Platform.

The portfolio ultimately performed poorly and EISFS wrote to customers of my portfolio in April 2024 to advise they were recommending a switch to a new portfolio. The new portfolio required customers to pay a compulsory additional annual fee (on top of the usual pension fees and Quilter platform fee) for ‘ongoing service’, which mainly entitles customers to an annual review to check if your attitude to risk has changed etc.

I asked for an alternative portfolio without ongoing service (which I’d decided I did not need and had opted out of in my original consultation).

Eventually a call was arranged with another advisor who contacted me to say she had paperwork together for an alternative portfolio and asking for my availability which I provided. After two months and no reply to my email requesting an update I decided to transfer my pension away from Quilter.

UPDATED 07/08/24: I was contacted by Jason who apologised for the failures that lead to me transferring my pension away from EISFS, and posting this review, and offered me a £50 Marks and Spencer’s voucher.

Ross Adams was very helpful and explained various pension options. He was great at following-up on meetings and responding to emails promptly. Pleasant and approachable manner, made us feel at ease. We would highly recommend him.

I could not be happier with the service I have received from Richard Hemsley at EISFS! In all our meetings, Richard has presented as professional, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly, helpful and approachable.
