Terrible communication and poor quality control. I ordered a cutting board that was in stock according to their website, but delivery took over a month. When it finally arrived the wood was split, not at all the quality I expect. It's been 3 weeks some I raised the issue and I still haven't even received a returns label yet.

My friend bought me an Eirlys board for my birthday, I wouldn’t recommend this company at all. The board started bowing within the first week, which is completely unacceptable for something at this price point. Even considering it’s an oiled product, the quality just isn’t there. It feels massively overpriced for what you actually get. I’d strongly suggest avoiding and not falling for the scam.
Horrendous Company to deal with!!
Ordered their Snowden £300 Walnut board, when it arrived, it looked nothing like the photos!!
Asked to return it in order to receive one that actually resembled the board that was advertised. Finally sent me a label to return it and told me that it would take 2-4 weeks for a replacement. Constantly had to chase them, as there was no responses whatsoever. It was a present from my partner for my 50th birthday. Heard absolutely nothing from them apart from telling me that they need to contact the factory manager to ask them when is going to be done. Another two weeks goes by and nothing. After six weeks, I gave up and ask for a full refund!
They said they pride themselves on their customer service but as you can see from the reviews come out there doing a terrible job of this!!
Would definitely not recommend this company! Let's see if they actually bothered to give me my refund back!!

I thought we could avoid this bad review. I was really hoping for you since there is a lot to like and your interactions were great, very polite (apart from making stuff up about how it was all my fault that the maple end grain chopping board is damaged and of little use (bowed)). And then the communications stopped. I’m waiting for a refund. I have one board I like a lot and one that was sadly a big disappointment. I followed ALL the instructions and more. After a week it was dry and warped, despite oiling more than instructed. I sent it back. A refund and apologies were offered, and then it was suggested it was my fault despite plenty of evidence from my side that this wasn’t the case. Apparently over 4 weeks on, I’m waiting for this case to be “reviewed” with the owner and I’m asked to be patient. And then nothing. I have nothing now. Eirlys Studio took my money and has my board.
So in summery: the products are initially beautiful. They aren’t all made equal. One is great the other wasn’t. They are VERY HIGH maintenance and if you want to keep them nice you’ll be oiling and buttering them twice a week. That wasn’t enough for my bad one. And, as I found out, they can’t tolerate any washing up liquid. So good luck with hygiene if you are thinking of using a board for meat and not just veg. I’d say lovely but impractical and expensive to maintain. Oil plus butter £30. Probably lasts 6 months for two boards.
Please contact me to make things right. I’ve obviously run out of patience. It didn’t need to be like this.

Board started to split after a few weeks use, despite following all the care instructions - oiling, etc. Customer service asked for photos, then told us we hadn't been caring for it properly and refused to send a replacement.
Much better products out there at the price point - lesson learned.
Best cutting boards around there
One of very few producers of really good-quality cutting boards from the best wood! Stunning quality, great communication and super fast delivery (from ordering to parcel at my door in 2 weeks (UK -> Switzerland). The wood is solid great for the knives, the little article about the care routine for the board was really helpful!
maybe a small tip for the future: prompt user to buy the oil/butter for boards before the checkout. I bought the boards, and then i received the email asking me to oil them, and do a coat of butter. Had i known it earlier, i would have bought the oil/butter from Eirlys too.
Overall, super happy and very satisfied.
Snowdon maple end grain board
I ordered a large maple end grain Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) board from Eirlys Studio because of the artisanal approach the company uses. The board is beautiful, practical and kind to my knives. It is a heritage piece and will last for many years.
companion boards
I purchased two companion boards, one maple and one walnut. The size is perfect for our household and use. This was an upgrade I’ve been thinking about for years. They are very well made, have enough weight that I don’t have to worry about them slipping/no damp cloth needed underneath, easy to maintain (oiled and buttered as suggested) and look beautiful in my kitchen (especially the walnut). They are an upgrade from the plastic boards / cheaper wooden boards I’ve used for years - if you are thinking about it - just buy one as I wish I had years ago. Delivery time as the website stated - didn’t mind the wait as the quality was exceptional as you would expect from handmade products.

I had a great experience with Eirly’s. This was my first time buying a wooden chopping board. After researching wooden chopping boards and what to look for in terms of wood type, thickness, etc., I found Eirly’s and ordered the Glyder chopping board in Cherry with engraving.
I ordered it on Jan 25th and it arrived on Feb 7th, so less than two weeks.
The board is beautiful. I gave it to someone as a gift. She loves the board so much and the engraving with icing on top. She LOVES it! I can see this board lasting for generations and only getting more beautiful with age.
I read some of the poor reviews which primarily reflect shipping and receipt of the product during the busy holiday season, which can definitely be frustrating. However, the poor reviews generally do not speak about the quality of the product. I had none of the shipping issues, but want to note that the quality of the product seems top notch to me. It looks like a work of art in the kitchen!

I ordered a board in Black Friday sale and was assured would arrive before Christmas. Heard nothing further and sent several emails pre and post Christmas to chase up. In end no response and had to cancel the transaction with my credit card company. They eventually then replied- I said I would still like to order a board and so asked if my original price could be honoured. Sent several emails back and forth again and told this would be approved and sent a link to purchase. Nothing has come back so have given up!

Outstanding craftsmanship and even better customer service – loyal customer for life
I purchased a maple Snowdon chopping board from Eirlys Studio, and from the moment it arrived, I was blown away by the grain, finish, and overall quality. It’s clear the 38+ years of expertise shine through. The carpenters really know what they’re doing.
Unfortunately upon unboxing, I noticed minuscule imperfections in one corner (likely from transit). Honestly, these were irrelevant and a laughable complaint. However, I’m the type of person that once noticing something, can’t not notice it. I reached out with photos, not expecting much beyond perhaps advice, but John from support responded quickly, empathetically, and with genuine commitment to make it right. No defensiveness, no excuses – just “we’ll sort this for you at no cost.”
They arranged a free return (which was extremely generous given the weight), handled a hiccup with the QR code by promptly supplying a printable label instead, and kept communication clear, polite, and fast throughout (often within minutes on the same day).
I dropped it off, it went back to their factory, and arrived back home within a week. The board has been beautifully refinished and you’d never know there was ever an issue. It’s honestly immaculate.
I will be purchasing another chopping board in the future (and that board butter when it restocks!)
If you’re after a quality board that will last you a lifetime, look no further than Eirlys Studio.

Much like some of the other reviews here, I had a poor experience buying from Eirlys. Assured on the website that my order would arrive in time for Christmas, I received little to no communications. Had to chase up on two separate occasions pre-Christmas to be told it would definitely be with me by the 24th. Lo and behold, nothing. This was meant to be a special gift for my mother (whose aunty’s name is Eirlys) and it was an embarrassment turning up to Christmas without a gift. It eventually turned up but almost 6 weeks after ordering. What’s worse is that any negative comments have been deleted from their Instagram posts, and I also left a full review to be published on their website which has either since been deleted or was never published. To me this shows absolute dishonesty and a lack of transparency and I would avoid using them again.
Ordered in good faith
Ordered in good faith, but the delay was way beyond expectation. When they failed on the second delivery date my e-mails were ignored. Pay Pal involved they offered a refund but even that is delayed, had nothing so far. Take care they look shabby, and their customer service is horrendous, arrogant and unhelpful when they bother to reply
Order not received after 5 weeks - zero response to my enquiries!!
I ordered a handcrafted chopping board and mineral oil from this company, which is reported to be based in Wales. It has now been over five weeks since placing my order and I have still not received anything.
I have emailed the company twice to request an update, but I’ve had no response at all. At this point, the lack of communication is very concerning.
After ordering, I also discovered a number of negative reviews on Trustpilot describing similar experiences, which unfortunately reflects my own. I would advise potential customers to be cautious until the company improves its communication and order fulfilment.
This is now in the hands of my bank in order to attempt a resolution and a refund!
Faulty product and false advertising g
This chopping board is pretty useless as a product. There is no grounding when you lay it flat on the countertop so it moves around when you are trying to chop making the product faulty and not fit for purpose. I have contacted the company on multiple occasions and have not had a single response.

Ordered 30 Nov for a Christmas present. Emailed on 18th dec for an update and told it would be dispatched by 22nd for Christmas. Asked for an update 21st, chased 22nd, phoned 22nd, emailed 23rd - all ignored. Phone call was answer machine. No auto messaging, no contact, no apology.
Price has also gone down since order.
On order no mention of delayed delivery or risk of non delivery pre Christmas.
The only reply on the 18th was when they said they only produce 50 a day.
All they needed to do was communicate.
Now I’m out of pocket, and short a Christmas present. Will it ever come - I have no idea as they are not communicating. It’s a shame as I really wanted to support a small business who I thought were making lovely items but now im left wondering if I’ve been scammed so will need to contact my bank on Monday.
