Never again flying to Cairo by Egypt…
Never again flying to Cairo by Egypt Air.
the staff was rude and the plain was so dirty, the food was the worst I have had on a plain in a long time.
EGYPTAIR unreliable frequent flyer programme
First time in my life that I am writing a negative review unfortunately.
Although I love EGYPTAIR please don’t save miles via their frequent flyer programme. We saved miles for years including via many business class flights. EGYPTAIR erased all the earned miles even though they have all the documented proof. They ignore my mails with the official files including booked flights, using our frequent flyer membership numbers within the required time frame before they expire. They don’t respond to mails or return calls for a very long time now. I am shocked and dissappointed about their approach to this situation.
Unfortunately I would definitely recommend to save your miles via another airline with a reliable reward programme since they can just decide to erase it.
Our experience with Egypt Air was terrible - DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THEM\
Our experience with Egypt Air was nothing short of appalling. Due to a flight delay of over 2.5 hours, we missed our connecting flight and had to spend over $2500 on alternative flights to Bali via Doha, not to mention losing 36 hours of our holiday. The airline claimed the delay was due to "technical issues," but after researching previous flights on the same route, it’s clear this is a recurring problem—a reflection of the consistently poor service provided by Egypt Air.
The service we received both on the ground and in the air was disgraceful. The ground staff in Sharm and Cairo were rude and unhelpful, refusing to assist us when we needed help the most. Despite assurances from the flight attendant that we would be met with assistance upon landing, this was a blatant lie. No one was there to help us, leaving us stranded and scrambling to make alternative arrangements.
To add insult to injury, the airline’s compensation offer—a 15% discount on future flights—is completely unacceptable and worthless to us, as we live in Australia and have no plans to fly with Egypt Air again.
This experience has been one of the worst in all our years of travelling. We feel let down, frustrated, and deeply disappointed. I strongly urge others to think twice before booking with Egypt Air to avoid the stress, financial loss, and outright disregard for customer care that we experienced.
Out of this world
Flying on the MS759 from Cairo to Copenhagen on February 2. 10:45 PM was a terrible experience.
Sitting on row 39 c my front table and seat in front of me was completely covered in abdominal contents (puke) from earlier passengers. The smell was horrible.
I asked the fly attendant to remove the abdominal filth but he answered that he did not have the time to do this.
I am shocked by the experience with Egypt airlines and expect a compensation for travelling under these circumstances.
Cairo to Madrid -double charged for seat selection
EDIT:
08/02/25
Ok they came through with a refund, finally. That took a while but glad they finally paid up.
I still think there service was pretty bad. It should have been refunnded immediatly and at least had the decency to reply to emails.
Original:
I booked a ticket Cairo to Madrid. I choose exit row seats and paid for the lot. A few hours later I changed the exit row seats to some alternate seats (same value)
They charged me a second time for these seats ($80 Aust)
I complained later and the webbooking dept agreed I was double charged for the same type of seats and forwarded the emails and problem to the OnlineRefund AT egyptair.com
dept.
Since then ( 1 month and waiting) they won't answer my emails or respond in any way.
I phoned the WebBooking people again and they don't want to get involve but said email
customeraff AT egyptair.com
I have done this but not holding my breath.
What a hopeless outfit. We haven't taken the booked flights yet. It wasnt a cheap flight either.
Worst Airline ever
Worst Airline ever! Their treatment of customers doesn’t feel real. They refused me to travel despite having all my documents in order, this is the second month now waiting for my refund. Don’t even get me started about their staff. Never again!

Our baggage was delayed by 3 days when we arrived in Luxor. We have been emailing WeCare and MyBaggage to make a claim but they are just not responding or cooperating. Does Egypt Air really care?
The worst Customer Service
I booked a flight to Jakarta for this coming April. A week or 2 after booking, the travel agent emailed to say that Egyptair had cancelled part of my flight. They offered me a refund or a booking on another flight. I asked for another flight and was informed that I would hear in 48 hours. Several days passed, then the agent emailed to say they had given up trying to contact Egyptair and I should try myself.
I requested a refund, but when it came it was anout £400 short of what I had paid. I queried thus and was told it was "non refundable" despite the fact that what I had paid for had been withdrawn. Egyptair basically charged me 10% of the price of my flight ticket to tell me they weren't taking me anywhere!
Rubbish airline
Rubbish airline
This is second time I have traveled by this rubbish airline (I don’t know why I took chance after had a very bad experience)
I do not have an any single reason to give a positive mark, because everything is bad,
Bad management, dirty plane, lack of language at Cairo airport, lack of communication.
First time I lost my check in bag, it’s more than 2 years now I haven’t receive yet bag or compensation.
Now second time, my check in bag very badly damage.
From now, I’m 100% sure, I will never ever travel with this airline. (As I’m travelling more than 15 times a year)
Stay away from this airline, if you wanna stay away from problems.
Bunch of thieves
Bunch of thieves, I pray they spend the money they steal on their loved ones' health and never fully recover.
Worst airline..
Worst airline... poor customer service and no regards for elderly, very wicked set of customer service provider.... don't ever use egypt air if you don't want to hate yourself.
FLIGHT CANCELLATION Accomodation - give the airline a miss.
FLIGHT CANCELLATION
Appalled at the disgusting treatment by Egypt Air when they cancelled our long haul flight MADRID/CAIRO - CAIRO/JOHANNESBURG.
Absolute chaos at the airport trying to work out where to go and how to get to the abysmal accommodation provided by this disgusting airline.
If you are fortunate enough to hire a porter to wheel you around on a Wheel chair and get you through the red tape - do it. But firstly avoid it all by not using this airline.
Entire process has put us off of travelling for a lifetime.
Herded into an ,"ACCOMMODATION FACILITY"
with up to 1000 other passengers who have had their flights cancelled - is on a par to being at a cattle mortuary.
Getting us all assigned to busses and hotels - on another level. Haphazard - without dignity and disgusting to say the least
If anyone from the airline actually reads this - put your wife / mother or granny through the process and see what changes should be made.
In flight - filthy planes + no one really cares - never been cleaned for 20 years. A true reflection on the shabby hotels they dump you at when your flight is cancelled by them.
Rather stay at the airport than take Egypt Air up on their offer to accommodate and feed you. Disgusting.

Disregards customer service, is safety also disregarded?
If an airline disregards customer rights and service standards without fear of meaningful consequences, it raises doubts about their commitment to safety protocols. While safety is heavily regulated and monitored by international bodies like ICAO, EASA, and national authorities, the mindset and culture of an organization play a critical role in how rigorously they uphold these standards.
If an airline shows consistent disregard for customer rights and service, it can reflect deeper systemic issues within the organization, such as poor management, lack of accountability, or cost-cutting measures. These issues could potentially spill over into safety operations, especially if the airline prioritizes profits or expediency over its passengers’ well-being.
The key difference is that safety violations are much more visible and have immediate, severe consequences (e.g., bans, grounding, reputational damage), while customer service failures often result in less tangible penalties, like bad reviews or a loss of loyal customers.
Skepticism is well-founded, and it’s part of why airlines with strong reputations for both safety and service (e.g., Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines) are trusted more. Their commitment to passengers in every aspect is seen as indicative of their overall reliability. When airlines like EgyptAir repeatedly fail on customer service, it’s natural to wonder how their internal culture prioritizes other critical aspects like safety.
This review is based on a trip from Copenhagen to Nairobi where everything just went wrong.
I had flight on Sunday and it was…
I had flight on Sunday and it was direct flight from Cairo to Brussels. I booked an expensive flight to be home and refresh for work tomorrow. I arrived at airport and there is no flight. It seems the airline overbooked and now some passengers have no seat.
The airline is not responsible nor honest.
Don’t think since it is a national airline you can rely on them. Egypt is full of dishonesty and fraud.
wrote a great review for the flight - they're good until something goes wrong
wrote a great review for the flight. they damaged my suitcase and have ghosted my emails now. i have sent 7 emails and they responded once with the most generic bs. really not okay!!
Very incompetent airline mediocre
Very incompetent airline mediocre. Internal flight delays beyond expectations without exception 3:30 h standard delays. Pretext is high season. If you were properly and efficiently managed you would have seen that your high season is not even comparable to any other middle east airport or african airport no such delays acceptable in any other respectful airline, not even any compensation for those delays. Beside we booked a first class ticket on our trip cairo Luxor and were put in standard economy seat as the plane was all one class and had no first class had even no egyptair logo
Worst airline waitlisted confirmed seats
We purchased business class tickets for our family 11 months ago and tickets shows all sectors confirmed suddenly two sectors are now showing waitlisted we tried all means to contact Egyptair even on social media to no avail. Emails to the terrible airlines remain unanswered and we now stranded in a foreign country

Had a bad experience considering we chose to fly business class. Flight got delayed in Manchester and we missed our connection to Sharm through Cairo. Gave us a bad hotel to stay in Cairo and got the flight the next day. Couldn’t sleep considering we had our 8 year old daughter with us. We missed one night of hotel booking in the Four Seasons Sharm. The airline denied our complaint and compensation. Very very disappointed.
The worst experience ever...I did a…
The worst experience ever...I did a long flight from France to USA. The way the hostesses are so rude, the whole flight team lack what we call customer services. Never never never never again!!!!
3/10 and 3 is just for the entertainment choices which were not bad
Worst airline I have ever encountered
Worst airline I have ever encountered. Won’t ever try it again. I booked it for my mum traveling from Nigeria to and fro Uk. Requested assisted service . All through her journey she complained about the service . They even left her in the hotel . No one came to assist her to the airport in transit . She called no one answered . She had to manage herself to the airport . She double barely walk . They don’t even deserve a 1 star .
