Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 118 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers express significant dissatisfaction with the product's quality, particularly regarding the batteries, which often fail prematurely and are very expensive to replace. Reviewers frequently report issues with the warranty process, stating that the company does not honor its advertised warranty periods for batteries and tools. The customer service is consistently described as unhelpful, rude, and difficult to communicate with, leading to frustration when trying to resolve product or warranty problems. Some people also felt that the pricing of replacement batteries is exorbitant, often costing more than new equipment, which makes the products an unsustainable investment. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that the tools themselves work well and offer good performance, with some reviewers having positive experiences with battery longevity.

Initially, great concept...

Initially, I love the idea a quiet battery powered mower, and it worked well. So, I bought all the all the products, weed wacker, chainsaw, polesaw, blower, even that fan (mistake).

The tools themselves work great (I don't agree with the other complaints of the mower), the chainsaws are awesome, as is the blower.

The fan (is just a way to kill batteries faster)
The weed whacker, the self-feeding head failed early. Back during the supply-shortage days during the pandemic, they couldn't send me just the head, so sent me a new whacker. THAT head also failed in months.

I get along by playing some touch and go on the head to eventually get it to pull in the line.

But the worst of these products, is the BMS (battery management system). My batteries have all failed just under the warranty period luckily, but still, what a hassle. They either won't charge, OR they show full charge then red-light while using them.

I now have several batteries that are useless. I have Makita batteries that are 8+ years old!

Have bought a 10AH which was a hefty $550+, can't wait for that to fail.

My neighbor told me a couple of years ago that EGO was worse than Greenworks, but I have all this EGO plastic tools to throw away now?

Bad batteries

After two years or less my battery is defective won't run for more than ten minutes turns red, put on charger it lights turn red, always jumps to two bars of charge. Contacted Ego, they play a game and don't honor the warranty which was registered. A new battery cost $439. On top of $599. of mower. I will ill not buy Ego again.

EGO LM2120SP lawnmower

Poorest mower I have owned in 50 years. Side chute throws clumps, mulching deposits clumps, bagging deposits ribbons of grass in the wheel tracks. You have to blow the lawn every cut to remove grass ribbons. The only way to avoid having to blow the lawn is to cut using a 12' width. Does not lift the grass well, anything other than a max height level 6 cut causes the blade to seize. Wish I had my 7 year old Toro back! EGO told me I could take it in for a checkup but the shop said it would be a month after drop off before they could even look at it.

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY! 4 years ago I sold off all my gas powerred equipment and bought pretty much the entire EGO line, that included 5 batteries and two chargers. The tools work fine so far, but the batteries are terrible. EGO says they are good for 1000 charges, I'm around the 200 level now and four of the five batties will not hold a charge. Called EGO and was told "Sorry, but our warranty is only good for 3 years". It would cost $1300 at Lowes to replace them, It is cheaper for me to buy to buy a whole new product line which includes the batteries!

Brought an Ego lawnmower and…

Brought an Ego lawnmower and snowblower. I thought it would be a nice environmental impact. But after a couple of years they are destined for the landfill. The batteries are the worst on the market. The people at Ego should learn that being the most expensive battery doesn't make you the best. I have two 7.5 batteries and can't get the lawn mower running for more that 20 minutes. Customer service is not existent. I have used other products like Dewalt for over a decade without battery problems. Ego batteries are garbage and are destined for landfills very early.

Uneven cutting for lawnmower

Uneven cutting for lawnmower. It is lightweight and quiet. However, the cut is uneven. It came with mulch blade installed which I prefer. I bought it in May 2025. The problem is it will leave uncut lines in grass. I called customer service to troubleshoot. The person had no idea and suggested I mow it twice and at a very low height. I would return it if I could.

Excellent assistance

I have a snt2120ap snowblower that doesn't work at all, I called customer service and they were quick to assist and are sending a brand new snowblower directly to my house since the closest repair station is over 60 miles away

DO NOT BUY any EGO system

I bought my first Ego hedge trimmer and the battery didn’t work out the box, luckily I returned it with another new box. Bought a snow thrower second time around and charged the battery twice at best. The whole charger and battery doesn’t work. Cheap products. Would never buy a EGO system again. The whole process on the customer troubleshoot support is ridiculous. You tell them what’s going on and they think you’re an idiot who has no understanding of plugging the system in. I get better response from ChatGPT.

Leaf blower died after 2.5 months

Leaf blower died after 2.5 months. Getting a warranty replacement, still not yet recieved, has been a royal pain. Several calls, with need to prove proof of purcase after product was registeted, and failure to ship the replacement blower after confirmed warranty authoruzation. Stay away from EGO.

Ego support is the industry worst...

I have had two different Ego products that needed service under warranty. The closest warranty service center is more than 60 miles away. Additionally, when you contact the only 2 service centers in a 150 mile radius, they both say that they won't be able to even look at my lawnmower for 2 months. Summer will be over and I won't need a lawnmower by then. The absolute worst customer service for an expensive product that I have ever received. Additionally, the customer service reps are just plain rude. What a complete waste of money.

Worst customer service and products!

Worst customer service and products out there! Weedeater/trimmer won't load the string. Called customer service twice and just got a run around both times. Finally told me to take it back to Lowes who said they would send it back to Ego for a $100.00 service fee and possible more charges according to what's wrong with it. They would not even answer a simple question concerning the probable cause could be. Beware when purchasing this product!

LM2156SP Cutting Saint Augustine grass…

LM2156SP Cutting Saint Augustine grass in Florida. Ok if you like cutting your entire lawn twice on mow day to look nice. I have normally cut once a week for 30 years in Florida. Plan on cutting every 3-4 days with this mower. Tried all the blade combinations. Just not good. Bad purchase for me. I’m out $700.

Good equipment very poor customer…

Good equipment very poor customer service. I bought a weed eater with battery and charger. Used it for a few weeks towards the fall. Put it up for the winter. Tried to recharge the battery for the first use in spring. NO GOOD! Tried getting it replaced. “You didn’t include a copy of your receipt with the battery registration!” “It is with the registration for the weed eater. Can’t you look it up there?” “No, you’re supposed to include it.” “But you could look it up if I gave you the serial number for the weed eater?” “We don’t do that.” “I’ll tell something else you won’t be doing.” “What’s that sir?” “Having me or anyone else I know from buying anything from you!” So I went to Temu and got a battery for about 1/3 the price with a one year warranty. I should have checked reviews but didn’t think Lowe’s would handle a product with such poor customer support.

Worse than usless customer service

Worse than usless customer service . My mower died after just 4 mows and these clowns wanted me to drive 4 hours to deliver it to a repair shop . But this “ repair shop wouldn’t be repairing it but simply couriering it back to ego . When I asked why if a courier could come to there “ no repair “ repair shop why couldn’t it dime to my house and pick the dead mower up . At that point they decided ignore me completely .
I’m now going to bundle all my ego tools up and return to the retailer for a full refund . I refuse to deal with business with such crap customer service

I will never recommend this product…

I will never recommend this product line or system. I have had the mower for 3 years. Due to them managing battery life/power, the mower does not create enough lift to pick up leaves, wet grass, and other debris in the lawn. It also fails epically in wet grass.

Toro has done a better job. I will never not have a gas powered mower ever again.
