Deceptive “Free Trial” – Manipulative System Designed to Trap You
I signed up for eFax thinking I was getting a 14-day free trial — but instead, I walked straight into a trap.
The activation was delayed on purpose with ID checks and a required letter by post — wasting most of the trial time.
When I tried to cancel, the “Unsubscribe” button didn’t work — it just sent me back to the homepage in a loop. I even recorded a video to prove this.
I contacted support multiple times, but the process was slow, unclear, and clearly designed to frustrate users into giving up.
Despite never using the service, they tried to charge my card three times. Luckily, my bank blocked it — but they kept trying.
You can’t cancel online. You’re forced to email or call and hope someone actually respects your request.
This is a classic dark pattern: make signup easy, make cancellation hard, and try to squeeze at least one payment out of every user.
I’ve already contacted my bank, submitted a complaint to consumer protection, and blocked this company completely.
If you’re reading this — do not sign up for the trial. It’s not worth the stress.

The company has been great. When I needed help, Stefan was there with his professional expertise. I've used the chat, and again, they were punctual and provided expert advice! There are not many companies that provide this service consistently

I had some questions, and while my english was not fluent, she showed passion and was very friendly. So if I will need an simple and mobile fax solution "to go" again, I will be back :) (Sorry for my english)

Unfortunately, my contact who wanted to help me was punching in the wrong fax number, which was obviously wrong. This morning he re4sponded me with a working fax, so it was his fault and nothing was wrong with efax! Again, it was very informative and was fun to work with Stefan. I give him all 5 stars.

My credit card needed to get exchanged due to corruption thus I could not pay any longer...I offered my wifes card as alternative to get things done and this was resolved very quickly and professionally....so all very good.
