Hybrid Inverter Installation

The engineer, Craig, arrived on time with his apprentice , Charlie, they had visited before so I was immediately more relaxed.
They are a good team and answered the odd question I had.
Our new Inverter, with it's blue cable was installed in about 1 hour 20 minutes. I was pleased Craig contacted Solis and got the OK from them.

Excellent job, well done

Good solar product but appalling customer service once fitted

Very poor customer service… because it takes so long to get issues resolved (there have been many) it is easy to drift past the 1 year mark. This is important because after that point it’s about £195 per call-out to get things fixed. They do refund this but they alone decide if it’s their fault. They also seem to act as though they only install… taking no responsibility for what they’ve installed.

We’ve had countless problems, most to do with a rushed install 2 years ago. Dealing with customer services is a deeply frustrating experience. Understaffed and everyone hiding behind systems and other departments. Our latest issue to do with our batteries is 2 months old and counting.

Very Poor Customer Service

Recently my inverter failed and it took EEC nearly 4 weeks to come out and replace the faulty inverter under warranty. At first I was told that it was not under warranty though I had the documentation to prove that it was under 20 years warranty. Once confirmed and pictures sent out to confirm the fault, it has cost me £150 + Vat to have an engineer to come out to replace the inverter. I was also advised that I would be given a new 20 year warranty from Customer service but of curse now have been told that is not the case.
Various phone calls to EEC but no one had the decency to call me back until I raised this as a big issue losing 4 weeks of solar electricity being generated. Hannah called me back and promised that she would call me back on the Monday to discuss further the cost of the engineer - but guess what never receive a call back from her though had received a call for booking an engineer in.
The engineer was brilliant I must add and very professional which doesn't say a lot for the customer or technical services of EEC.
We took out the solar panels in 2015 and I would add the customer service were brilliant then and couldn't assist enough even a year after the panels were fitted.
The date is the recent experience since th inverter has been replaced, and when the solar energy is started in the morning, the 2 ring main socket electrics trip out and we have to reset them every day. I now have to send in a photo of my fuse board to indicate what is tripping out before they can assist.
To be honest, I am very disappointed t the level of service we are receiving and am glad we haven't progressed with the heat source pump with them.
Knowing this once read by EEC, I doubt if I would get a call back from them to resolve.

Would I recommend them - not likely though in 2015 I would have been an advocate for them.

I had solar panels installed because I believe in a green future.

I had solar panels installed because my local council were working with them to encourage people to use as much renewable energy as possible. The panels worked well for several years but stopped working a few months ago. On following the reset instructions the panels worked for about 15 mins., but then stopped. I asked EEC to come and fix the problem and told them I was prepared to pay for the visit.
The response is always “ticket” issued but no date is given.
I wouldn’t mind this if I hadn’t explained that E.ON refused to fit a new meter until the solar panels were fixed.

Install Solar but avoid EEC-Hi

Whilst I am happy to have installed (finally) solar panels, I would not recommend EEC-Hi at all. Installation was chaotic and only done finally 5 months after the promised date but then within less than 4 hours of the installer leaving they wanted payment and immediately started threatening me to pay even though the system had not yet started operating or been validated. I paid in full under the promise of customer support which has not been forthcoming and have been waiting more than 2 months for a response to issues I see regarding my solar energy - I am still paying to import from the grid when I am generating and storing more than my needs. EEC have failed on every level to even respond to my request and the "Manager" in charge is always too busy to answer my calls or mails - her time is more important than mine. Install solar but not with EEC-Hi.
