Most appalling ‘qualification’ if you…

Most appalling ‘qualification’ if you can even call it that, I had to resubmit so many times that I gave up - having spent hours and days trying to complete it. I reached 98% and honestly couldn’t get any further. I’m now down $200 and was refused a refund due to the ‘2 month’ expiry.

Doesn't pay staff, high staff turnover

Doesn't pay staff. Cancels shifts on them without payment and refuses to pay super. High staff turnover. Extinguishers on site out of date and dusty building that looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. Management have an attitude and refuse to take calls from staff for support, claiming the management need "rest" even though many staff haven't been paid in months. Asks staff to take pay cuts as they have no students. This is all in writing with evidence.

Update - management has sent threatening text messages after hours to take this review down, calls me mentally unstable and "mentally sick" for simply asking to be paid.

Comprehensive but poor communication with students

Good communication is needed for online or face to face training. When online training is marked, if something is not correct and must be resubmitted, then the student should be promptly advised. Edway don't notify students if an assessment task must be redone. Also call center staff are difficult to communicate with. Both of these aspects need improvement.

Complaining Edway RSA course

We are 2 friends from Argentina, we've just arrived into Australia and we both are working holiday visas. Yesterday we bought 2 RSA courses and we paid 200 australlian dollar each. We understood that this course includes all the states (except Victoria) and it could be completed online (that's the website say) that is why decided to take it.
We are currently in Melbourne but planning to get a job in South Australia/Western Australia (the reason why we needed to get the RSA certificate).
Today we were called by a secretary of Edway who told us that even if we finished the course we won't be able to work unless we go to get the physical card to Sydney. But we are unable to relocate/visit Sydney at the moment to get our physical card, and we do need the money from the course to keep towards the job search since we are going to have to do the RSA course in other state.
We would please ask you to consider our situation, but do not posee the money to travel to Sydney just to get the card and we won't soon, since we don't have any plans to have a job around that area.
We need an answer from Edway.

Class was great, albeit some interruptions

I recently took the Mental Health First Aid course at Edway in Sydney, and I aboslutely loved it! My instructor Justin was thorough and articulate with his teaching, and also answered any questions that I had(even if they were a little off-topic, thank you Justin). The staff there were friendly, and overall I've left with very valuable information.
However, I would leave 5 stars if not for interruptions to the lessons. My instructor had to leave in between conversations or discussions quite often to talk with other staff, and that did impede a bit on the engagement I had with the classes.

Other than that, it was an awesome experience, and definitely worth the money.

Thankyou to the great staff at Edway

Thankyou to the great staff at Edway, Sarah Gardner, Melbourne office for making the transition of red card to white card so easy. Your service was greatly appreciated. After spending several hours trying to get answers out of worksafe and the initial red card provider your company saved me alot of time and energy. It is greatly appreciated.

I am disappointed to play for having made 4 mistakes in the test, and asking for help on the subject, because I never did this type of work before, I was there to learn, as everyone knows you can't learn 3 and a half hours of course, I'm a student in Melbourne and I was still a juggler of not knowing English, and I am very sad about it, and I felt humiliated, I would like my money back to take the course in place, and therefore being able to do only what I would like cleaning, in the middle of this PANDEMIC that we live in and people still want to let you down. I DIDN'T LIKE THE EXPERIENCE, I WILL TAKE IT TO MY LIFE, PREJUDICES ABOUT LANGUAGES ..

Hi Fabiana,

Thank you for taking the time to review Edway Training, we value your feedback.

We are sorry you had a bad experience during your class.

Having a basic level of reading, writing and understanding English is one of the main requirements to attend class, and is one of the terms and conditions you agreed to at the time of booking. As the test for the white card is an open book test, all participants are required to score 100% to pass.

Our National Training Manager has contacted you to make arrangements for you to attend the class again when we reopen. Please contact us directly at melbourne@edway.com.au when you are ready to rebook.

Thank you and have a lovely day!

Great teacher!!!

Hi im iowane

I was suppose to do my white card training in melbourne but then changed my mind to go to Sydney and do the course there.
The office manager helped me with ease. There was no extra charge because i requested the changes before the scheduled date.

The class in Seven hills, Sydney was trained by Mr. Wayne Cooper . He was exceptional and had a wealth of knowledge in the construction industry. For those who want to get a glimpse of how the industry is like now, book his training sessions
Im looking forward to going back for other courses i want to do in the future!

He has a holistic approach to the work safe NSW and makes you understand with real life situations.
A great teacher !

Excellent trainer at Edway Hallam people!

I did 3 days of training for white card traffic management and traffic control. Nick (our trainer) who trained us for Traffic Management and traffic control was excellent and very knowledgeable, I asked questions all day and without hesitation he listened answered explained ect.... He also made it fun throughout the day and that made it less stressful as it was all new to me.
Well done Nick, definitely a valued employee for sure. Keep up the great work Edway!

Geraldine

Disappointing would be an understatement.

I arrived at 8:45 am to the Sunshine training Shed for a Traffic Controller Course that was scheduled to start at 9am.

Their was a piece of paper directing people to go upstairs to reception. I went upstairs and was met by some guy who was wearing a baseball cap, jeans, an army jacket and looked as though he had just walked in from the Park Bench he had slept on the night before.

After giving him my name, he spent 3 minutes searching the list, then advises your from Job Prospects . He then told me to go get a Purchase Order from Job Prospects, and continued to complain about everything other than his own persona, temperament or total disregard for Professionalism, was a problem.

I left did not do the course and find it hard to comprehend how a training centre can have an aggressive, irrational and unprofessional person like this not only take on the role of Reception he was the Trainer.

I’m not sure what to say aside from the truth... If you are expecting a professional training organisation this certainly is not for you.

Is it bad luck or bad business?

I completed the Whitecard course in Melbourne and got my certificate of completion which is useless because I need the actual card. Four week later there is still no sign of the card. I rang Worksafe Vic only to be told, Yes they have my whitecard application from Edway Training but no payment has been sent by Edway therefore the card wont be issued until the payment is made. So then I ring Edway or try to, but all I get is a Philippine call centre who will take a message and NO I cant speak to the Melbourne office myself. This sounds like some sort of scam by a business running short of cash. BEWARE.
(Apart from that the course was actually very useful and informative and the presenter was fantastic.)

Hello Jewel,

My name is Andrey and I'm the manager of Edway Training Melbourne.

First of all, sorry if you felt it was a scum.

I've looked into it and it looks like bad luck, not bad business.

I can't tell from your message when exactly you did the course, but I've check WorkSafe VIC database and there were 2 classes in January that appeared as unpaid although the payment was made (unfortunately this happens time to time due to the WorkSafe system not registering the payment against the class and therefore not changing the status to paid).

We've contacted WorkSafe VIC this morning and provided receipts for the payments so they can manually update payment status.

The issue should be received and the plastic cards should be in your mailbox within two weeks.

In regards to the call centre, yes we've recently engaged call centre in Philippines to help us with the phone calls. I've discussed your feedback with them and we've amended the way we handle the phone calls.

I hope that answered some of your questions.

If you would like me to double-check the status of your white card application or have any other questions, please email me directly on andrey@edway.com.au with your name training date (you can find it on your certificate).

This place has extremely racist staff

This place has extremely racist staff, the teacher was quite rude towards the overseas students in the class, I thought it was just towards me for some reason but then I see it has a pattern here. Do your research on facebook first and you can easily see their reputation for yourself before you spend your money there, the quality of the course was quite poor. never going back.
