From the first sketch of the new loft space to the final coat of paint, ecoTrus didn’t just meet expectations - they exceeded them. It is natural to feel daunted when approaching a complex construction project with lots of unknowns but ecoTrus and the construction crew were able to put my mind at ease and explain clearly how the construction would proceed and what it would entail. They were also incredibly resourceful and accommodating throughout the construction process and any issues that came up were dealt with without any fuss. The great thing about the ecoTrus system is that the installation of the majority of the components happens with minimal disruption to the main part of the house. I also admired the fact that they were unrelenting about precision and visited our house many times to check and recheck various parameters of the construction before creating the various components of the structure. This rigour and precision resulted in a relatively straightforward installation that could be done at speed with few surprises. The integration of the new space with the rest of the house was seamless and the final stages of the build were completed to an excellent standard demonstrating their great attention-to-detail. Thanks to the entire team for all their hard work and a job exceptionally well done.

Excellent experience — both as a customer and now an installer

I first came across EcoTrus a few years ago when I used their system for my own loft conversion. From the start the team were helpful, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. The whole process was well organised and the system itself was very well designed. The finished space completely transformed our home and we’ve been extremely happy with it ever since.

Since then I’ve actually gone on to work with EcoTrus as an installer, and that has only strengthened my opinion of the company.

The support from the office team is excellent — Michelle, Vanessa and the rest of the team are always professional, organised and quick to help whenever needed. From a contractor’s perspective that level of support makes a big difference on site.

The system itself is clever, efficient and well thought through, and the customers we work for are consistently impressed with the results.

Between my experience as both a homeowner and now installing the system regularly, I can confidently say EcoTrus are a great company to work with and deal with.

EcoTrus were brilliant from start to finish.

I contacted them for an online quote -really just out of interest having looked over their website - and they got right back to me.

Their designers and engineers were superb, taking time to understand what really mattered to me.

For example I live in a conservation area and my new loft Dormer roofline needed to precisely match nearby properties when finished.

When they said ‘that’s no problem - we can do that - I confess I doubted it. But it turned out to be true; they were as good as their word.

I loved that fact that they embrace Teams and WhatsApp to communicate really well and keep everyone in the loop. I was always certain that everyone was on the same page, and that I was in control whilst being advised and supported by a team who knew what they were talking about.

Within weeks the steels were all designed and delivered and the work was underway. Everyone who saw the plan and the work was impressed, from neighbours to building control to my electrician and builder friends.

Installation went without a hitch thanks to the amazing team of builders. It’s really important that you choose your installer carefully and yourself- we went with a team suggested by EcoTrus and they were superb.

One unexpected benefit of EcoTrus was the fact that the dormer window aperture was prefabricated, meaning the window supplier could measure it for manufacture immediately - no need to wait until later in the project when everything was in place.

Our new loft is looking good. It’s early days of course but I am extremely satisfied with the whole experience and have already recommended the EcoTrus system to others.

We had our project (loft conversion) completed a couple of years ago and that was a terrible experience. They sub contracted work to builders (I'm stretching the use of the word builders) who did nothing, had several different teams turn up almost daily. Work was projected to take a couple of months but went on for over 6 months. Eventually got it done after lots of complaining - we had 10 velux windows put and we have realised that the larger windows are wood when we requested PVC in the contract for all windows. To makes maters worse, the warranty post completion is non existent. You will get them to pop out a within a year after completion, after that they won't return your calls, messages or emails. Left with a leak and external trim missing on one window. To be fair they did come out to fix the trim .. 4 times, different lads and it still blows off when windy. I've given up calling hence all I can do is write this review and save others the trouble.

I have a non-straight forward roof. Eco trust were very bullish in saying it was possible. I paid my deposit (3k). Then they found it was very difficult to do and said they could not confirm their design would work before paying more money. I have asked for my deposit back and this was refused. These guys are running a very shady business. Go elsewhere!

After searching High and lows for ideas of a loft conversion we came across Ecotruss. Went down to the company to speak in person first as it was a big decision to using steel rather than your traditional timber. Could say we are overly happy with how the project has turned out. The anxiety of it not being correct or this just won’t work were creeping up up on till the day of installation. Eco truss also sent out a project manager to oversea the work for 5 days. Sorry not good with names but the first project manager that came for 3 days was absolutely brilliant and not only stepped in to help the builders but was thorough throughout the whole project. Overall, I would recommend this company to everyone.

This has saved a lot of our time to get remaining work done and we can hopefully move into our forever home soon.

Had a loft conversion done by EcoTrus for my new build house as my builder recommended it was the best solution for the way the wooden trus was constructed. There were some hurdles along the way but overall a good experience with the team especially the project Manager Hafeez as he was very helpful throughout the project and dealt with any issues that were raised. Would definitely recommend EcoTrus and be sure to ask for Hafeez as your project manager.

Our experience with Ecotrus has been nothing short of a catastrophic nightmare. Broken promises, blatant breach of contract, chaotic mismanagement, and utter disregard for communication, have left us tens of thousands of pounds out of pocket, and given us nearly two years of relentless stress.

Ecotrus sent to us what they advertised as their “rigorously trained, expert, approved installer”. A so-called “seasoned contractor” who completely botched the entire installation, leaving our home structurally unsafe and exposed to severe water ingress. Our contract with Ecotrus guaranteed that one of their technical support officers would be on site for five days to oversee the work and ensure quality and compliance. This was a basic contractual obligation which was completely ignored. Had they fulfilled this requirement, the disastrous errors would have been caught immediately, and we would not be in the position that we are now. The design of the Ecotrus system is such that consumers cannot realistically observe the installation until it is cut through into the main house, by which point any mistakes are already concealed and too late to rectify. Therefore, reliance on the competency of Ecotrus’s so-called “expert approved installer,” together with the contractual requirement for oversight by a technical officer, is absolutely critical, and their failure to provide it, utterly indefensible.

We raised concerns and twice requested the installation manual, which was promised but never provided. When we finally raised our serious concerns about the standard of the installation by sending photos, now almost a year ago, Ecotrus eventually sent a representative who confirmed the installation was structurally unsafe, and had to be completely redone. Their 'approved installer' then folded their business. Instead of taking some responsibility, Ecotrus tried to wash their hands of it, claiming the installer was "just a recommendation”. A staggering attempt to distance themselves from the very contractor they had sent to us as their trusted expert.

Months of delay and exhausting negotiations followed, during which water poured into our home. After relentless pressure, Ecotrus grudgingly agreed to redo parts of the kit, and re-install insulation (if we supplied new insulation material). A pitiful offer that came nowhere near addressing the scale of the damage that had been done, but we came to this agreement in the interest of getting on with our lives. This now meant ripping off our entire roof; the very disruption we had sought to avoid by choosing the Ecotrus system in the first place. Ecotrus also finally agreed to pay a small token contribution towards the cost of re-roofing, although nowhere near the huge additional expense we were forced to cover. What was concerning is that they requested to pay this relatively small sum in 3 instalments over 3 months (hardly reassuring for a supposedly professional established company). Six months have now passed since this agreement was made, not a single penny has been received, and every email chasing this has been met with silence.

The remedial work itself has been sporadic, dragged out over 15 weeks so far, is currently left unfinished, and has at times exposed our home to further water damage. Scheduling has been chaotic and the works rushed, promises abandoned, and we have been forced to repeatedly reschedule other contractors at short notice, causing huge disruption, further delay, and yet more costs. Management will not take our calls or return messages (conveniently always “in meetings” or "out of the office"), and emails we send go unanswered. We have been more than patient in the interest of co-operation, but it has now been almost 12 months, and we have had enough as we feel we are being treated with contempt.

Ecotrus have wasted our money, our time, and our patience.

If you value your home, your savings, and your sanity, I would recommend you do yourself a massive favour and stay well away from Ecotrus.

What an amazing system. Within one week, we had taken our old roof off and replaced it with a wonderful roof with dormers, that has completely transformed our house .
The staff at ecotrus are second to none.
Danny was our on site tutor. He was absolutely brilliant. He really went the extra mile for us and really showed he cared about my house .
Vanessa has been great, always checking in to make sure everything is ok.
Dave’s technically advice has been invaluable.
Jamie’s advice from an installation perspective was also brilliant.

The guys working on our conversion were great at communicating throughout the whole conversion, giving sound advice and the benefit of their experience in making choices throughout. We have nothing but praise for their considerate and friendly approach and pride in their work. Two great guys, who made us feel confident through every step of the conversion. Tidy and Clean and respectful of our home. Fab results, above our expectations. Thank You Ecotrus.

Ecotrus were really helpful from start to finish. Using Ecotrus was very simple and I would highly recommend them.

Great with communication, helpful and polite in all responses. Where there is a problem, a positive approach in solving it. A good customer experience. Cares for the customer journey.
George, Michele and Vanessa was very supportive and positively, helpful. I wanted to support the environment, so a steel construction with EcoTrus was a better option.

We were really struggling for space in our home and needed a fast loft conversion with as little disruption as possible as we both work from home and ecotrus 100% delivered, from the start everything was simple, we spoke with Vanessa who understood our needs from the get go and couldn't help us enough and we received our quote the same day, the following day we met Richard from RAW building services who was our local installer, Richard went through our design and what were looking to achieve within our budget, we're over the moon with our new office space and the final result is amazing, we now seem to be the talk of the street as our neighbours can't believe just how quick the system was built, we can't thank ecotrus enough for all their guidance and help throughout the project and we would definitely recommend :)

I am extremely pleased with my Deluxe loft conversion and the whole experience from start to finish. The process was smooth, efficient, and completed to a very high standard.

The quote was provided the same day I reached out, and they were able to fit me in quickly, which I really appreciated. The communication throughout the project was exceptional. They set up a WhatsApp group with the team and the sales person, which made it easy to stay updated on timings, plans, and any changes—especially when the team were working in the loft!

The team was incredibly accommodating and nothing was ever too much trouble. They were also very clean and tidy, which made the whole experience even more pleasant. It was genuinely a pleasure having such friendly, professional people in my home for the week.

Finally, the invoice process was simple and hassle-free. I received it directly via email, and I was able to pay quickly through Apple Pay.

I chose Ecotrus on a whim, sucked in by the social media marketing, but boy did it pay off!

My brief was something very unusual, it's a dormer on steroids, I chose Ecotrus on the off chance, as my build was considerably different to their previous projects.
From initial visit to completion did take a while, this was mainly due to the unique structure and the site.
I've been quite pleased with price, product and service I received.
Key plus points for me.
Speed of installation (4 days for 17m structure)
Recycled materials
Flexibility for thee internal space, as all the load bearing walls are the sides
Good customer service
Good installation team

Impressive but higher cost compared to traditional build and would certainly depend on loft size.
