We had an amazing, once in a lifetime experience meeting the beautiful Bweza gorilla family. We also got to meet the lovely local community and the dancing groups. We hiked about 6km in total, a few h... See more

Perfect Gorilla Trek in DRC for family
We visit Kahuzi-Biega national park for a 3 day 2 night gorilla trek. We had 2 adults and 3 kids ages -7, 12, and 10. We decided on the DRC because of the cost difference of the permits.
We had such a wonderful experience! Patrick our host was so helpful, knowledgeable and patient! The hike to the gorillas was difficult (I underestimated how difficult it would be…but obviously that just depends where the gorilla family is when you visit!) but our kids did well. Eco Adventure Safari’s was super professional and helpful in customizing the trip so we could make it work with our limited time (we ended up actually doing a 1.5 day 1 night trip basically 😝).
I’d highly recommend this to anyone planning to visit the region! We felt safe the entire time. Just make sure you have PERFECT $100 bills for the visas at the border crossing bc apparently $100 is only worth $100 if it’s crisp and fresh 😅
Amazing Trip to the Congo
Farewell Democratic Republic of the Congo!!! This was truly one of the best trips I have ever taken. The people were so welcoming, seeing the Bonobos was a gift from nature, I fulfilled a lifelong dream to stand in the stadium where Ali regained the title from Foreman, and saw Mobutu's Chinese Palace. Coming to DRC checked so many boxes on my list and stirred so many joyous memories from the past. Thank you Eco Adventure Safaris. Patrick was fantastic to work with to plan this trip. He was quick to respond, answered all my questions, and was very professional. When he could not join the adventure he told me he would trust the guide, Ernest, from DRC with his life. After traveling with Ernest, I feel the same. ERNEST OBE OFULASILA was the best guide ever!!! There was a mishap along the way, but Ernest was ready with a fast and efficient solution, and with a great sense of humor. I had a fantastic time and definitely recommend booking with them and traveling to the DRC. For me, this was a trip of a lifetime.
5 day Gorilla trek in Uganda
Eco helped us book a 5 day Gorilla Trekking Experience in Uganda including a private driver and a private flight from Entebbe to Maasai Mara (Kenya) and everything went smoothly - it was a wonderful trip! We recommend chosing Eco!
Magical 9 days solo trip in Uganda
This trip has truly been magical. I’ve spent 9 days in Uganda, where I did the wildlife and primates tour.
Elias, being part of the Eco Safari team, was such a great host/guide/driver. He’s a truly walking encyclopaedia, puts your interests always first and drives very safely. The (midrange) lodges the team have selected were great too. Astonishing views, great comfort and good food!
There’s absolutely no doubt I wouldn’t recommend you to book your next holidays with Elias and Eco Safari. They’re simply the best.
Eco Adventures was amazing
Eco Adventures was amazing. We had many last minute changes to our schedule that they were able to adjust for, providing lots of flexibility to fit exactly what we were looking for. We planned our trip very last minute, and they did a geat job creating an itinerary that would help us make the most of our time. Our guide, Godfrey was great at making sure we had a geat experience. We loved visiting Uganda, large part of it due to Eco Adventure - thank you!!
Central Africa with Eco Adventure Safaris
We worked extensively with Eco Adventure Safaris on a custom multi country itinerary. We'd still be stuck in the Burundi Airport if not for our driver/guide Patrick whose contacts and know-how everywhere we went were invaluable. We gave Eco Adventures an impossibly aggressive itinerary which they executed despite border closings and flooding. Further, the range of knowledge that Patrick, our driver/guide, showed extended to botany, ornithology and biology. He could tell you anything you wanted to know about any plant, bird or animal in the most casual way. He also knew how to find them as our itinerary included safari's in National Parks. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, we were always and always felt safe. If you want to know the price contact Eco Adventure Safaris. If you want to know the value for the price we are testimony to their professionalism and ability.
We had the BEST trip
We had the BEST trip.
Our itinerary was spot-on so a big thanks to Patrick. We were SO lucky to have our amazing guide/driver, Alex. From gorilla trekking to safari adventures, every moment felt like a dream. Our trip wouldn't have been half as amazing without Alex leading the way and being so great.
I was so grateful for the care taken to cater to my allergy at every place we stayed, despite the inconvenience it caused. Every lodge that we stayed at was lovely, with delightfully friendly staff who made our trip even more special.
Uganda has definitely stolen my heart!
The adventure of a lifetime
When we first considered going to Uganda, we could never have guessed that we would end up having the holiday of a lifetime. That is, in no small part, down the exceptional service offered by Eco Adventure Safaris.
Patrick (the founder of the company, an exceptional tour organiser and an even better human being) organised our trip for us. We requested heavily customised itinerary but at every step we were met with unbelievable enthusiasm and passion. No demand too big. No request too small. As a result, we had the most incredible vacation and got to experience the stunning beauty of Uganda.
The advantage of using a local tour operator and guide couldn’t have been embodied more than by Alex, our indefatigable and utterly wonderful guide. Over 8 days, he showed us the very best of the country that he’s so proud to call home. From Gorilla trekking, to meeting his friends and dining at some of his favorite local hangouts - Alex made sure that we got the most out of every single day. He was warm, funny, kind and generous. By the end of our trip we had made a friend for life.
I cannot recommend Eco Adventure Safaris enough. They offer tremendous value for money, and a superb service.
Incredible trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
We had a really fantastic trip with Eco Adventures to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Communication when booking and leading up to the trip was fantastic, and the trip itself was even better. The Gorilla trek itself totally exceeded our expectations and was a totally magical experience. Our guide Abdul was very professional and always made sure our needs were being met. Would definitely recommend this company for a Gorilla experience.
Roaring Rides and Wild Wonders: A Day in Murchison Falls National Park
Embarking on a one-day safari journey to Murchison Falls Park in Uganda was an unforgettable adventure that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped into the sturdy 4x4 vehicles, it was evident that our comfort and safety were top priorities. The vehicles were spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with open rooftops, offering panoramic views of the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife.
Our knowledgeable guides added an extra layer of excitement to the experience with their expertise and passion for the local ecosystem. Their keen eyes and insightful commentary helped us spot an impressive array of animals, from elephants and giraffes to elusive leopards. Their intimate knowledge of the park's really enriched the whole experience.
One of the highlights of our trip was a boat trip to see Murchison Falls, where the Nile River plunges through a narrow gorge, creating a powerful cascade of water. Seeing loads of hippo's along the way was a nice treat.
Overall, our one-day safari to Murchison Falls Park was awesome. With top-notch vehicles, expert guides, and an abundance of awe-inspiring sights, it's an experience for life.
I'd highly recommend Eco Adventure Safari's for a day trip, or longer if time permits!
Trip of a lifetime
Everyone was amazing, helpful and hospitable. Guides made me feel safe sights were amazing and the whole trip was more than enjoyable.
You guys are the best thank you so much
Booked Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking…
Booked Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda with Eco Adventure Safaris for February 2024. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to a visa issue. Communication with EAS was flawless. Patrick was really helpful!
Would definitely book here again in the future.
A great team who will make your adventure one to remember
Patrick made a custom trip for us including all the things we wanted to see.
Alex our driver and guide was excellent. Super friendly and knowledgable he made sure we had a holiday we would never forget. He is a skilled driver and great company.
We would highly recommend Eco Adventure Safaris for your trip to Uganda.
Great tour guide!!!
Did a trip with a friend and Eco Adventure Safaris was fantastic from the get go. Patrick provided plenty of detail and created a tailored itinerary for our tour in Rwanda to include a safari in Akagera, Gorilla and golden monkey tour in Volcano National Park and chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe. Communication was clear and our guide Elias was absolutely amazing. Always on time and took great pains to make sure we were always comfortable and having a wonderful time. He was always keen to show us the best parts of Rwandan culture and introduced us to some fantastic dishes and banana beer! This is a great tour company and they clearly try to give their guests the best time visiting their country. Elias told us they do tours all over East Africa and next time we are back we will be sure to get in touch!
highly recommend company
Back froum our 11 day trip we can only give the best recommendations for Eco Adventure Safari.
The planning was relatively short-term and thanks to Patrick Atalyeba, the boss, everything was possible. He answered all questions and responded to all requests immediately. Many many thanks. In Rwanda we were guided by our driverJackson for 2 days - he was very helpful and attentive. We had a lot of fun with him. Patrick Kataama become our new driver/guide at the boarder to Uganda. He made the trip an unforgettable experience for us! He was so motivated and explained and showed us so much. He fulfilled all of our wishes - a thousand thanks to him too! Conclusion: We can highly recommend both Patricks and Jackson - and therefore the entire company.
Rwanda and Uganda are really worth a trip! Go for it!
Local company, very well connected in Uganda and Rwanda
We had a great experience with Eco Adventure Safaris! Patrick is very professional and swiftly organised for us the trip in Uganda and Rwanda and answered to all our emails and questions. Abdul, our driver and guide was excellent, everything ran smoothly and he was very flexible in accommodating our requests during the trip so as to make the maximum out of the experience. We particularly liked that this is a local Uganda based company and they are very well connected in both Uganda and Rwanda.
Wonderful Bwindi Gorilla trekking trip
I had a wonderful trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to trek Gorillas. Patrick was very responsive and quickly answered all my questions. Even though I was very last minute, he could arrange the entire trip (this might also be because of low season). Allan my driver was amazing! He was very kind and a skilled driver (necessary with Ugandan traffic and roads). He also explained a lot about the country, the gorillas and the birds. On the way back he pointed out all the birds! (For a birdwatcher this is splendid!). We also had nice conversations about many different topics. As a solo female traveler, I felt absolutely safe and taken care of.
We also stayed in a wonderful lodge (Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge), also highly recommended.
When I come back, I will definitely arrange my trips through eco adventure Safaris (and ask for Allan).
Bucket List Item Accomplished!
I actually did 2 gorilla tours with this company (eastern lowland gorillas in Congo and mountain gorillas in Uganda). My base was Kigali, Rwanda. On the first day we drove to the DRC (Congo). I was quite surprised that this company offers tours in the Congo. I had read about the eastern lowland gorilla, which is almost as endangered as the mountain gorilla. The company handled all the difficult paperwork involved in obtaining a Congo visa. I have to say the first day was hard as my country strongly recommends not visiting this country. The border crossing was chaotic to say the least. Only French and their version of Swahili spoken. I had always wanted to see the Congo and I decided the risk was worth the reward. The hotel was magnificent on the shores of Lake Kivu. The Kahuzi-Biega National Park is a treasure! I was the only white person there. The leader of our group had been there 27 years and knew most of the gorillas personally. The group leader gave me individual attention and since I was solo he took pictures of me with the group of gorillas. The male silverback was 20 years old and a giant (this is the largest species of gorillas in the world). He weighed 200KG (440 Pounds). His size was intimidating but in no time at all you could tell he was a completely gentle giant. These animals are smart enough to recognize human faces and they use tools. Our leader knew this male gorilla since the day he was born. So the 200KG animal was completely docile and chill. He rolled over on his back exposing his belly at one point, which is an indication of complete trust. He had a newborn male as well as slightly older twin males (twins are exceptionally rare). We were so close to all these animals without any obstructions. The photos look like they were taken by high powered lenses but they weren't. Anyway, this experience in the Congo was the highlight of my trip. Even though it was hard, I'm so glad I risked it. I could not have done it without the assistance of my driver Patrick. On the way out of Congo the customs agent asked my nationality. I said USA. He asked again and I said USA. Then he looked at me with a puzzled expression and asked "America"? I said yes. It is just so unusual, and he was astounded. The second trip was to Biwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. The border crossings were all a piece of cake compared to the Congo. In Uganda they know how much tourist money we bring in and they treat visitors like royalty. Uganda was easily the most beautiful country I've ever seen. The region near Biwindi is all vertical. Farmers have their cows and sheep foraging on cliffs. The people are used to the steep terrain and are masters. Me, not so much! The hotel was individual cabins. I had the cabin completely to myself and it is isolated from the others. You sit on a front porch looking down on Biwindi and the forest below you contains 50% of the mountain gorillas in the world. You can hear the water from the distant river. At night you hear the soothing sound of frogs and insects. In the morning you hear the delightful sound of birds. The food and service were excellent. The mountain gorilla trek was hard. It was steep and muddy. I highly recommend hiring a porter for $20 (my porter worked so hard to keep me on my feet I gave him $40). I at first said no, but I am so glad I changed my mind. Everyone slipped on the steep muddy slope. The porter carries your bag and sometimes carries you. I fell twice, one time taking the porter with me, but I was uninjured. These gorillas were at a greater distance, and there were plenty of trees and bushes in the way, but still an amazing experience. I'm glad I did both tours but the highlight was the Congo for me. I'm so grateful to Patrick, my driver (who saved me more times than I can count). He was so experienced with the pitfalls including corrupt Congo police officers! Patrick (a second Patrick in the office) was so efficient in emails getting all the paperwork completed and keeping me up to date. I highly recommend this company. You can do the Congo like I did, and it will be a trip of a lifetime. Bucket list item crossed off!
Great safari and tour across Uganda and Rwanda
We did the 12 days-safari and apes trekking across Uganda and Rwanda during Christmas and NY's time 2023-2024. Our trip was fully customized and designed for our needs and travel tastes from the very beginning. The communication with Patrick, the manager, was super fluid and I always got quick responses from his side.
The driver and guide, Alex, was a great companion during the whole trip. He made our trip unforgettable. He provided us with interesting information about Ugandan & Rwandan culture, their people and wildlife. He was always taking care of all the family and pending on how to make our trip even more comfortable and entertaining. Additionally, he was always open to our requests. As for the truck/car, this was comfortable, with plenty of space for the four of us.
We opted for the most economic options of hotels and most of them met our expectations. They are all eco-lodges and use renewable energies to power the installations and local ingredients for preparing the meals. I'd like to give a special mention to the Kasenyi Safari Camp, where we had a super pleasant stay. Perhaps, the only suggestion for some of the lodges is that they should have a wider variety of alcoholic beverages.
I would definitely recommend Eco Adventure Safaris and Alex as guide. Uganda and Rwanda have a lot to discover.
Custom Chimpanzee Trekking Tour (4 days, 2 persons)
We had a wonderful experience with Eco Adventure Safari. The trip was coordinated by Patrick, who always answered back super quick and was able to fulfil all our wishes. He was able to arrange pick-up in Kigali, Rwanda, by our guide Martin. From there we drove to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stayed there for a night in a fantastic hotel, then had a game drive and boat tour, then moved on to Kibale Forest National Park for a 2 night stay. There we had the chimp trekking and a village tour. From there we Martin took us to our hotel in Entebbe. The whole trip took place in early November, aka the small rainy season. We were generally lucky with the weather, but in any case it’s a great time to visit as everything is green.
All the accommodation in this trip was simply excellent, Martin was a very knowledgeable guide and great driver. We had a great time on this trip, they accommodated all of our wishes (like seeing the tea fields, getting a Ugandan sim card, …) and Martin was fun to be around. Would definitely recommend, value-for-money is great.
