A must-do experience
Spent 5 absolutely fantastic days with Charles in Uganda to go chimp-and gorilla trekking! I couldnt be more happy about my stay!
After having done safaris in several african countries, including kenya, south africa and botswana, I can really say the one eco adventure safaris organized for me in uganda is something very different. There something truly unique and amazing about seeing these human-like creature so close in real life.
Charles did a great job being my driver and guide for the tour. He was always on time, answered all my questions and stopped along the road wherever I wanted. African time was not a concept when travelling with Charles😂 When I next time come back to africa with the rest of my family, I want Charles to be my guide again!
The trip felt very safe, both in traffic and the places we stayed. The accomodations always had fantastic views over the rainsforests and food was always on point. 11/10 points for these epic 5 days!
An amazing experience
An amazing experience, our guide Charles did a wonderful job transporting us to some very welcoming accomodations and providing us with excellent service and care during our trip. The experiences themselves were nice in a lifetime, we got to see gorillas and chimpanzees as well as countless other wildlife. Would definitely recommend the service and care of this company for coming back to Uganda!
Amazing once in a lifetime experience
Having never travelled to Rwanda or Uganda I didn’t know what to expect. One word WOW - beautiful countryside, wildlife and best of all the people. This trip took us from Kigale, Rwanda to Bwindi National Park, Uganda with a stopover at the genocide museum. We met Eco Adventure Safaris in Kigale and drove across the border to Bwindi National Park for our gorilla trek in a very comfortable jeep. The Kigale to Bwindi drive is worth considering as it’s much shorter than getting to Bwindi from other cities in Uganda, plus Rwanda is a must! Our accommodation in Bwindi was a spacious, lovely lodge and the gorilla trek incredible along with the team involved in the conservation of gorillas. In the afternoon we visited the Pygmy (Batwa) village - a cultural experience which included traditional dance and what life was like in the forest. What a warm, passionate group and definitely worth doing. Our driver Edgar was the best - not only knowledgeable about Uganda, it’s wildlife and gorillas but also very accommodating. The whole trip was amazing and a once in a lifetime experience. I cannot recommend Eco Adventure Safaris highly enough. We will book with them again without hesitation. Thank you Tonia & Michael
Once in a life time!
We had an amazing, once in a lifetime experience meeting the beautiful Bweza gorilla family. We also got to meet the lovely local community and the dancing groups. We hiked about 6km in total, a few hours in a group of 8. We got super close to them in their natural habitat. All the Rangers involved were very knowledgeable and took great pride in caring for the gorillas and keeping them safe. Our driver/guide Charles was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He went out of his way to make it a great and comfortable trip.
Best wild life experience
We had a great tour with ecoAdventure to Bwindi and Kibale national parks. Walked to a couple of hours to see the gorillas and one hour to see the chimpanzees. People in the parks knew what they were doing. Our guide was kind, friendly and punctual. Lodges were charming and had all conveniences.
Excellent Guide and Gorilla Experience
We had a lovely 5-day monkey / gorilla trek with Godfrey, our guide, in November. We did the canopy walk, chimpanzee trek (which was too long that day after hiking Kilimanjaro a few days before), cultural experience, gorillas, and golden monkeys. Godfrey was an awesome guide! We learned so much about Rwanda, a country that really surprised us. Godfrey was full of information and was able to answer all our questions. On the way out of Kigali, we learned so much about the city and its history. And he pulled over whenever we wanted pictures. The gorilla experience cannot be matched, but we might try Uganda in the future. Although we did not see chimpanzees, that was not our main goal, and it was just not in the cards. The guide had us hiking over 7 miles to get to them, which even he admitted was a lot longer than normal. Not his fault, they just kept moving farther away from our starting point, and since my husband was unable to go very fast, he'd turned around so I felt like I just couldn't be gone longer. I did miss out, as they did find them another 10 minutes up the trail (the 10 minutes I spent arguing with the guide that I was done and heading back!), but that's OK. It was a beautiful hike, and again, wasn't on my short list of things to see. We thoroughly enjoyed our treks and are hoping to meet Godfrey again in Uganda someday!

Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safari
Charles was an amazing driver and guide! He was kind, courteous, and punctual. He went out of his way to make sure we were able to see the beautiful countries of Uganda and Rwanda on our schedule and purchase souvenirs despite us having bank issues mid-trip! I highly recommend booking a trip with Eco Adventure Safaris!
I booked a Gorilla and Chimpanzee 4 day…
I booked a Gorilla and Chimpanzee 4 day tour. Picked up and dropped off in Kampala where I was based.
From the start Michelle in the office was excellent. Very quick responses in organising the trip. Excellent communication - easy to understand and straightforward. The accommodation booked was all in great locations, close to the walk meet up points and permits all sorted.
My guide for the 4 days was Charles. The vehicle was great for the driving conditions. He was easy to speak with, reminded me of the plan each day and timings and had me dropped off and picked up at the correct places for the treks in plenty of time. On our long drives was happy to answer many questions about Uganda and the places we were passing through. Also had plenty of information on things we saw/wildlife etc we passed.
I would not hesitate on using Eco Adventure Safaris again if I were to travel back to Uganda. My trip was seamless.
Amazing adventure in Murchinson Falls park
We took a 1-day trip to Murchinson Falls national park. The organization of the tour was impeccable and the itinerary was amazing: game drive, boat safari, lunch, sightseeing of the falls. Our guide was Charles, who was an incredible driver, being very informative and helpful through the entire trip. The van was also very comfortable and allowed for a great adventure. Strongly recommended.
We went on a 10 day safari with Eco.
We went on a 10 day safari with Eco Adventure. It was a trip of a lifetime. Alex, our tour guide, could not have been better. He cared so much that we had a good time and saw everything we wanted to. His goal was to not only meet our expectations but exceed them and indeed he did. Eco Adventures was always on top of all correspondence. Even hit a few snags along the way and they did not skip a beat to fix them We would HIGHLY recommend using them for any trips. We know we will. Its a pleasure to write this review.
Eco Safaris are the best!
We have recently returned from a 11 day trip with Eco Safaris, booked through Patrick. The wonderful memories made will remain with us for the rest of our lives. Our friendly, informative guide, Elias took us to destinations, such as Mabamba Swamp for Shoebill Stork watching, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Chimpanzee Trekking, Murchison Falls, Kazinga Channel, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Gorilla trekking and much, much more. The accommodation was perfect, with delicious food at each Lodge. We travelled through the most stunning countryside & vibrant villages. It was fascinating learning about local traditions and everyone we met was so welcoming and friendly.
Elias made our holiday perfect with his warm and cordial approach. He went out of his way to arrange special celebrations for us as we celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary, all of which we are so very grateful. It was a fabulous holiday. We loved our experience in Uganda & travelling with Elias. We highly recommend Eco Safaris, and for future travels, wouldn’t hesitate to use the company again. Go to Uganda ….its stunning!

Gorilla’s in their natural habitat is magical!
Ronnie King and Patrick Kataama were our tour guides. Both went out of their way to be wonderful hosts.
Accommodations were clean, laundry service was available at a few places. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner were provided daily. There was always guidance and answers to any questions we had. We always felt safe and their recommendations were spot on. Seeing the Golden Monkeys, Chimpanzees and Gorillas in their natural habitat was an experience like no other! I look forward to next time I'm on another adventure in Uganda to use Eco Adventure Safaris!
An unforgettable adventure
We did a 10 day adventure starting and ending in Rwanda, but spending 9 days in Uganda.
We did a Golden Monkey trek, a Chimpanzee trek, and a Gorilla trek. We also did several game drives and saw ALL of the Big 5!
This trip was truly incredible. Patrick K was the driver of my safari vehicle and Ronnie was the driver of the other vehicle in our group. Both guides were phenomenal and I truly hope to see them both again.
This trip was unforgettable and I highly recommend EcoAdventure Safaris. I know I will be using them again if I come back to any of the countries that they operate in.
Excellent 2-day Gorilla Trek in Uganda - solo woman
I did the 2-day Gorilla Trek tour in Uganda with Eco-Adventure Safaris in July 2025. I was travelling as a solo-woman. Overall, I found the entire experience to be excellent. The Eco-Adventure Safaris team was always prompt with emails and were very helpful. My tour guide was Benson, and he was excellent - very friendly and did his best to make my experience the best. I was picked up in Kigali around 2:00 pm and arrived at my lodge in Bwindi around 8:00 pm. I stayed at Kaara Gorilla Mountain Lodge. It was considered 'mid-range' pricewise , but I would consider it a 'high-range' lodge. The lodge is situated higher than all other lodges and has amazing views of the valley below. I stayed in a private cabin which had amazing views and a big beautiful 4-poster bed with turn-down service. The lodge provided dinner, breakfast, and a packed lunch. The day of the gorilla trek, we started around 6:30 am, where Benson handed me off to the park rangers. The hike itself was about 45 mins each way and was muddy. I would recommend good boots, gaiters, thick pants, and a thick long sleeved shirt (that is resistant to twigs and nettles). Seeing the gorillas was incredible. When I arrived back, around 12:00 pm, Benson met me and then took me back to Kigali. I arrived back in Kigali around 6:00 pm.
Dream trip to Rwanda
I have dreamed of going to Africa and seeing the mountain gorillas my whole life and Eco Adventure Safaris made my dream come true! Everything about my trip was amazing from working with Michelle who helped me design my trip to my guide Abdallah who made sure everyday was better than the next. From my accommodations to the treks to see chimpanzees, golden monkeys and the dream of seeing gorillas, everything was above and beyond my expectations. Eco Adventures is a company I can't wait to travel with again. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and taken care of everyday through all my experiences. Abdallah was the best of the best guide, making sure every detail was taken care of and answering all of my endless questions. My highest recommendation for Eco Adventures!
we had the most amazing 8 day trip

Eco Adventures gave us the most amazing itinerary and all of the hotels were beautiful with great food! Excellent Tour Company
As an American, I was a little cautious when some friends approached me with a trip to Uganda and Rwanda, however by the end of the trip, I had such a beautiful appreciation for the people and wildlife of these countries. This trip toured Akagera, Volcanoes, Queen Elizabeth, Kibale, and Bwindi National Parks where safaris included seeing rhinos, giraffes, zebra, warthogs, lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, hippos, crocs and treks included golden monkeys, chimps and gorilla, and also a TON of birds. Got to actually see a pair of African Grey parrots for a brief second span the sky. The chimp and gorilla treks were a once in a lifetime experience. Seeing these beautiful creatures, up close, moving within feet of you, was exhilarating. Zoos will never be the same again. At first its a little intimidating being so close but you begin to notice that the chimps and gorillas don't pay any attention to you and that there are park rangers near you at all times. Also, definitely try to book a night safari, in order to see animals and their behaviors that are not present during the day. This trip was in early July. The temps were in the 60's to 70's much of the trip where the Queen Elizabeth Park area were more closer to 70's and the Bwindi mountainous area were closer to 50's and 60's. We only saw rain in the Bwindi area and there were no mosquitos throughout this trip.
The vehicle the travel company used were Toyota Land Cruisers outfitted for safari with 6 rear bucket seats and a roof that pops up allowing you to stand. Things may get a little bumpy with the hardened suspension and that most of the minor roads in Uganda and Rwanda are not paved, especially through the mountainous areas. If you get carsick easily, don't forget to bring motion sickness pills. They provided plentiful bottled water. The charger in the vehicle was spotty so bring a power bank if you have.
Accommodations throughout the trip were lovely. All lodges had security guards on premises, bottled water, mosquito netting in all the rooms, tasty meals, bars, and other amenities. WiFi was available, mostly just in the central dining areas. Hot water was a limited commodity where you might only get a few minutes of "warm" so you might have to just make due. Cellphone coverage was actually really good most places except in the mountainous Bwindi area. Most places took credit card and US dollars in addition to the local currency.
Lastly, special mention to my driver Ronnie King who was not only highly knowledgeable about wildlife, but also made special requests and accommodations along the way for us making this a once in a lifetime type of trip.
Charles was an unbelievably good guide
Charles was an unbelievably good guide! I was solo and couldn't have asked for a better guide on a 6 day trip to see the chimps and gorillas. Everything was super smooth and everywhere we went he had friends who were happy to see him! I did this trip
- Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi wetland walk - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for an afternoon game drive and overnight - Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Visit the Batwa. Two nights at each. IF I could do it again, I would do three nights with the chimps and three with the gorillas, visiting them each twice. The middle at Queen Elizabeth wasn't a great safari park compared to my past ones in Botswana and Kenya and added a lot of driving. SOO, I recommend double up on the chimps and gorillas! But know that Charles is also an excellent driver as well:)
This was an incredible experience
This was an incredible experience. Led by Charles, our driver, we were able to see animals incredibly close (gorillas, monkeys, a leopard, lions, chimps, exotic birds, elephants and hippos). Charles was amazing. His level of service and attention to detail makes the experience that much better. After getting to know what we like, he was able to tailor the experience, making adjustments to create a truly personal experience. I would definitely do this again.
