Not as bad as people say (in my experience)!
Can’t help feel this is a cess pit for dissatisfaction and perhaps in many cases, rightly so!
However; my shoes have not (yet) disintegrated and when (if) they do I might change my tune!, Notwithstanding, i returned the larger of two pairs of shoes I ordered and got my refund and email notification in line with their policy. Yes, their process takes longer than most, but it does work. Some patience required, but they are not thieves!
I love ecco
I love ecco, best quality, best brand, best consumer support. love it
ECCO CITYTRAY AVANT Boots
Ordered a pair of ECCO CITYTRAY AVANT boots. Even though I ordered a half size bigger, it was still too small. Incorrect sizing. Returning, as there is no exchange option, and the price for a replacement is much higher. So, I'm back to Clarke.
ECCO gortex golf shoes leak
Has anyone else recently bought ECCO gortex golf shoes and found them to leak?
I recently purchased a pair and they leaked badly on their first use. ECCO claim they are fine, however my socks were soaking and it was only from wet grass.
They claim to have tested them in a tank for 4 hours, though I don’t understand how that reflects real life usage.
As they say in legal circles “Caveat Emptor”. Take this as a warning from my recent experience. ECCO are only a shadow of the company I used to know. They are certainly not a premium brand when it comes to golf shoes.
Bought a pair of Ecco golf shoes in…McGuirks, Swords
Bought a pair of Ecco golf shoes in McGuirks.Had them 5 weeks and they let in water. This was on wet grass as I don’t play in rain.
Ecco say after test no problem .
McGuirks did the decent thing.
The Hybrid St1 shoes are now quite comfortable
November 27th, 2023. After two months' hard wear, the Hybrid St1 shoes are now quite comfortable. Although they are made for Asian feet- a low bridge, and longer than they are high with a low instep, they now do not need to be taken off at the end of the day thanks to the soft leather and supportive squishy insoles and soles. I've had them now for two months and I'm now pleased with the quality and how they have held up despite over an hour a day hard walking. They still look as good as new. The grip is good, even in the wet and they are light and easy to wear.
Loyal customer to Disappointed
I have worn ecco boots for over 20 years. The first pair lasted 13 years the second 5 years , the last pair just 18 months. The upper leather stitching gave way oh the last two pairs. Same amount of walking, so can only say that the quality has gone down while prices have gone up. £155 for 18 months is not great value. Customer services of no help at all, telling me to approach the retailer...hmmm...this is a product quality issue. Sorry ecco, you have lost a loyal customer.
No rights after a purchase
I have had Ecco golf shoes and loved them. 3 months ago I bought a pair of ecco biom shoes at over £200 and a care kit at £25. Never spent that on golf shoes ever. Started to show wear on the toe after a few months. Sent a claim with pics and was refused. I’ve sent many many emails to Ecco and basically been told I abused the shoes. I play golf in the shoes. It’s demoralising and very unsettling. I wish I’d never bought these shoes or even emailed Ecco. They suck the air out of you. I know there’s much worse happening in the world but I feel completely let down disappointed doesn’t cover it and I’ll fight all the way for my rights. They seem to think I’m a chancer but I only want to play golf in nice shoes. Very depressing.
A Brand gone wrong.
Expensive and very disappointing quality. A brand gone wrong, sadly!
Awful returns service
I ordered 2 pairs of shoes. The trainers arrived and were a completely different colour to the picture and the colour they sent didn't even exist on their website but as I needed the trainers i decided to keep them. The boots were far too big even though I followed the measurement guide. I returned the boots 15 days ago and still waiting for a refund. I phoned the customer service and their reply was i'll get it some time next week!! I am waiting for £140. Disgusting service and will never use again.
Last purchase from ECCO!!
I have numerous ECCO shoes, always relied on assurance of quality. No longer, recent purchase was worn only for a few vacations had soles that have totally disintegrated, so clearly a manufacturing issue!!! ECCO customer service gave me run-around and eventually suggested I travel to a local store. Last purchase from ECCO!!
I have posted this to twitter
I have posted this to twitter. It is all in there. Suffice to say, I am very disappointed and will no longer be a customer.
"Off topic. A pair of ECCO I bought a couple of years ago, barely used, disintegrated a few steps out of the door. The gooey tar stuff is just gross. I had other ECCO shoes before. But quality is dropping like a stone in last few years. Will not come back to it anymore. Never."
The Limited Warranty is a Joke
I purchased my BIOM walking shoes in March 2023. I noticed last week, August 2023, that the right sole, at the ball of my foot, is almost worn smooth. I didn't start wearing these shoes until May and did not wear them in June because of so much rain where I live. After standing up to ECCO they finally agreed to a refund after I destroy the shoes. Okay, I read the warranty again, and it does say that the shoes must be destroyed. This is just wrong on so many levels. Why can ECCO not ask that the shoes be returned, repaired, and given to charity?
As a result of this "destroy policy" I will keep the shoes and wear them until the right shoe is unwearable.
Lastly, the emails I received from ECCO were condescending and rude.
This company has lost a customer who has purchased numerous pairs of ECCO shoes over the years and recommended the brand to many.
Terrible customer service.
I bought my sandals at the end of the summer last year and wore them a few times. This year when I wore them a clip on the strap snapped making them unwearable. I complained online as the shoe shop has closed down. I was sent a letter in Polish in reply. When I asked for a translation it was refused. So disapointed with ecco . Eventually had the clip replaced for £10 at a local cobblers. The shame is that having read others reviews about ecco they have made no attempt to explain or improve the situation .
They've stolen my money and boots
I've had the most distressing experience. I was asked to send my faulty boots in. They've sent a low value voucher and they're asking me to pay for them. The customer advisor yelled at me on the phone and she was the most condescending human that I have ever dealt with. I've never felt this upset.
As the company is European with no British presence, I am now having to reach out to trading standards to see if I can open a small claims court case against this company.
Every member of staff has REFUSED to share to any line of escalations.
Poor Customer Service
Firstly just to say we love Ecco shoes and generally use the Stratford upon Avon store, though stock has been limited. Why do we love them? Danish technology, stylish and comfortable and usually last well.
What lets the side down is the very poor customer service. We ordered two pairs of shoes on-line and the despatch information was sketchy with delivery notifications incorrect.
One pair arrived and the other did not. I chased and chased and I was told that the other pair was on its way. The tracking details provided related to the previous pair. When I informed Ecco of this, I was ignored. The second pair was a birthday gift.
I called up Customer Services (off-shored in Poland) and I was told that the other pair was out of stock (in stock when I placed the order and 'paid') and that someone had subsequently simply decided to cancel the order altogether rather than contacting me to give options on a back order, for example.
They were apparently hacked so their websites were off-line for many days so it was impossible to determine what was happening and without any option to reorder.
When they were back on-line we ordered the above pair again, and one other. The first pair came without warning via Parcelforce (no advance delivery notification). We both work but luckily we were in.
When the second pair was despatched, the Evri notification remained dormant without any advance warning of when they would come.
When my dogs started barking one day I went to check and found the second pair left outside my front porch in the lashing rain! You couldn't make it up.
The glass porch was unlocked so they could have been left in the dry.
The scheduled delivery slot was subsequently communicated AFTER they had been delivered, and it was supposed to be later in the day!
That's a long-winded way of saying - great shoes but terrible customer service. You need to ditch Evri and up-your-game with regards to how you treat your customers.
Sort yourself out.
Ecco sandals
Ecco sandals. Worn 3 times. Walked less than a mile. Soles and heels completely disintegrated. Customer service not interested.
Faulty Ecco Golf Shoes
For anybody having problems with Ecco product like myself either direct or via another source, goods need to be fit for purpose even after 12 months warranty, my golf shoes were 17 months old and had never been worn. When first used they made a sound like wearing flip flops, initially as they were outside the warranty another supplier / source I bought them from said they were unable to do anything as they were outside the 12 months warranty.
So I went to the Which website and they have a tool that drafts an email for you reference Consumers Rights Act 2015.
This act also states that any goods outside of warranty the purchaser has to prove the fault was present in the first 6 months, this appears impossible unless you wear them in the first 6 months even though the shoes had been worn for the first time 17 months after purchase!
Then after mentioning that golf colleague had a pair of Ecco shoes bought direct from Ecco where after 18 months the sole split from the uppers and Ecco replaced as they would not expect their quality product to develop this fault even after 18 months use, also noting that this fault wasn’t evident 6 months from purchase!! I eventually received a credit note for 50% of the value to spend with the supplier after many mails back and forth but I still wasn’t 100% happy with this outcome!
Bought three pairs of ECCO shoes
Bought three pairs of ECCO shoes. One bought a few years ago is fine. The other two pairs, the soles have disintegrated. I went back to the shop. They were completely uninterested. Basically said it wasn't their fault. Will never buy another pair of ECCO shoes.
Ecco mx m goretex trainers
Ecco mx m goretex trainers only eight months old with not much use have deteriorated, soles cracking and mesh on upper getting holes on inside of foot. At £130 a pair i'd have expected them to be more durable, now they let water in through the sole. Contacted customer services, they asked for proof and date of purchase, I provided that but whoever responded hadn't seemed to have read the evidence. Instead I was offered a £115 voucher to redeem on their UK website. I accepted and then was instructed to cut the tongues from the trainers and provide a photograph of the destroyed trainers to receive a voucher code. I complied and code was sent, however their website was down, took twao weeks to resurrect and then the voucher code wasn't accepted against shoes exceeding the value. So this is still ongoing, no trainers, quite a frustrating experience. I would have expected more from their claims on there publicity material, craftsmanship durability quality etc. I'll think I'll avoid in the future. I'll update if I get some satisfactory response from Ecco.
