Mortgage Process

Myself and my partner dealt with Bernard and Nora in the Drogheda branch for our mortgage. Bernard completed initial assessments and was efficient and friendly. Nora dealt with the remainder of our mortgage process and was always willing to take our calls and help us in whatever way possible. It made this process so much easier!

Thank you Nora, Bernard and the team in EBS Drogheda!

Efficient and Lovely

Nora Joyce from EBS Drogheda has been so efficient and lovely throughout. She is very responsive to my emails and queries, articulated in breaking down what the mortgage process entails and overall excellent.

And, I would highly recommend EBS. My mortgage journey with EBS had been overall
fast and efficient

I dealt with Nora Joyce in EBS about my mortgage and I have to say I could not fault EBS when it comes to lending mortgages.
I found Nora extremely helpful & encouraging. Went out of her way to help me out and thanks to Nora in EBS I am now living in my beautiful forever home.

Poor customer service

The only positive thing about EBS Money Maker account is the fact that it's free. Their website is very dated and that fact is reflected in in the copyright notice (2016!) I tried to log in to a Deposit Account I have with them but it failed continually. Agents are so far unable to resolve the issue. Using the authenticator app is difficult and site is not suited to mobile. A couple of years ago I had a deposit with them and I closed the account without identification. If they are serious about remaining relevant, they need to get with the times. Other banks have in fairness even if they got off at a slow start

Outdated and poor customer service

Had to cancel my card after some attempted fraudulent use... 3 weeks later I call back to see where the replacement card is only to be told they don't send them unless you call a different number to order one. Card finally arrives on a Friday morning while at work and it can only be activated by a phone call to customer service... who only work Monday to Friday 9 till 5! This means no access to my money for a weekend. They have online banking, authentication app and card manager app and still need to ring a person for the card. Awful stuff.

Ulster Banker? Look elsewhere fgs!

I switched my account from the Ulster Bank and am so annoyed with myself - couldn't have picked a worse bank.
From the get-go it's been awful; 45 minutes hanging on to authenticate my debit card, layers of security codes and general faffing to access online account, and when you're finally in, it's rubbish. This 'online' service is so dated, it doesn't work with a smartphone. You can just about see your balance and transactions, nothing else pretty much.
They don't have many branches around either. This wouldn't bother you an iota if they had an app like Starling's let's say ( just awesome), but you'll probably need access to a branch as their online offering is so poor.
What's even stranger is you need to install two different apps to authenticate your account and/or complete transactions, yet they didn't develop a acutal banking app. It's crazy. Maybe they just ran out of money?

Awful service

Their online service is very poor. No way to alter a standing order. No way to use a new card, even a replacement card without calling them. No way to order a statement without calling them. Calls unanswered after waiting 30mins plus. Online help is pretty useless. I'm ready to leave because of it. You can't have very poor online facilities AND not answer the phone.

There should be an option for ZERO stars, I wouldn’t even give EBS Customer service one star! Numerous phone calls, tried every number I could find to speak with someone,
also tried email, no response. EBS just don’t care about their customers. Told my new Debit card would arrive within five working days, twelve days later still no card, obviously I have no access to MY money without this card. I intend closing my account with EBS asap.

Absolutely awful app -totally useless

Absolutely awful app -totally useless - the EBS seems to be in total denial about how useless its app is - cannot access one's own money to pay for many items - tells you it is sending a message to your phone to allow you to proceed with your payment - the message never arrives! - frustrating and embarrassing - looks like one's account does not have any money whe you know the account is in credit. What a mess! - would give it minus stars if I could. Do not use.

Utter joke

Utter joke. Online services beyond bad. Changed my mobile so SCA needs updating but they send the new code to my old phone, you couldn't make it up. Phoning to try and sort it out is nightmare stuff, I've had the phone on speaker for the last 1hr and 45 minutes.
Dire Dire Dire!

Disappointing... EBS online banking.. Useless

Recently opened moneymanager account as Ulsterbank account will close in new year...notifications when authenticating to online banking come about 20% of the time.. No actual banking app.. Web interface is very poor compared to Ulsterbank.. Cannot simply create payees.. Need to wait 24hrs...cannot setup standing orders... Pure sh*te tbh. I really hope N26 will be better experience.. On a wait list to open account there.... EBS freebanking is ONLY benefit

Zero star

Zero star. Do not use this bank. I made a complaint regarding poor customer service after a representative failed to block my debit card when I reported 6 fraudulent transactions. The complaints department sent a basic response, failing to address why my card was not immediately blocked. No apology for the inadequate, unprofessional customer service I received. Just reiterated a new card was issued and money repaid. Ignored the fact it took several phone calls and emails just to have the compromised card blocked. Unsatisfactory.

One of the worse banks

One of the worse banks ever. Had over €1000 stolen from my account a couple of years back. Nobody notified of it found out myself a day before going on holidays. There approach when I asked them what was going on was to ask do I gamble online(which I don't) and then had to wait 30 days before my money was given back. Also their customer service is less than useless. Recently my revolut stopped working so I contacted them. They said it's the bank's problem which it was. Spent three days ringing trying to get through to them. After finally getting through the person on the other end had no idea how to fix my problem. Took details and the problem said someone would be in touch. That was 3 or 4 weeks ago and no email or phonecall. I will be changing banks soon because they are utterly useless.
