Their communication was shocking, delays after delays. If you are buying a house I would shop around before considering Eastons Solicitors.
Their ineptitude cost me an extra £1,200 in expenses because they took at least 4 weeks longer than they needed.
Their excuse was, they were very busy handling a large volume or sales and purchases.
Simple answer would be, either take on extra staff to cope with the volume of business or do not take on the extra volume if you cannot handle it!

As a landlord, absolutely AVOID Eastons ! Your rental property is in demand. There are plenty of lettings agents out there - pick a good one.

AVOID! Disgraceful treatment of tenants. Awful estate management.
We live at Purdey Court Estate, overseen by Eastons. Our experience of Easton's has been nothing short of horrific. My vehicle (and I have confirmed others) have been subjected to multiple, deliberate acts of vandalism. This has been reported to the police and Eastons multiple times. Easton's consistent pattern of indifference has been abominable. Rather than assisting, they offer nothing but excuses, failing to take even the simplest actions like alerting residents to be vigilant or improving CCTV. This is also after another distressing incident of intimidation from a different neighbour, who the police visited and it stopped.
There is a conflict of interest. An individual on the estate, married to a director of the estate's company (who contract Eastons), took it upon himself to create a parking space on a patch of land. He then visited our flat, warning my girlfriend to "not park in his space". When the patch of land was later reclaimed by the estate management company, he became overtly hostile, frequently displaying aggressive looks. It is after this series of events that I experienced repeated vandalism of my car. My girlfriend's car was also damaged on one occasion.
In an environment where residents should feel safe and supported, Eastons has left us feeling exposed to intimidation, vandalism, and at risk. Their approach is not just negligent but there is also a clear conflict of interest (which they of course deny).
Other residents have also experienced car damage (which I suspect is due to territorialism). Nothing has been done about the vandalism or the intimidation we have faced despite our pleas to them.

Avoid this agent does nothing I lost £5000, repeat lost £5000 on a new home deposit to a builder and all I got was a ‘sorry’. DO NOT GO WITH ANY PROPERTY ADVERTISED BY EASTONS. I will NEVER.

to Southend 2021...our driver was wonderful...funny and polite...dropped off at a easy place for all facilities...for all ages...had such a wonderful day especially the pier...Our driver asked if we all had a great time...wonderful coach drive home...Thank you so much Eastons ..really can't wait for our next day out...
Excellent lettings team
We, as landlords, have been very happy with Eastons over the past 15 years. The lettings team are very professional and have a good rapport with both their tenants and landlords. We have decided to re-let our property with them and look forward to many more years of great service.

Avoid: Rude, Evasive & Ignorant
My daughter was at university in Epsom and she found a property through Eastons that was close to the campus that was advertised including a fortnightly communal area cleaner. The viewing was interesting with the representative from Eastons severely hungover and disinterested in the property.
There were 3 other tenants in the shared house who were in their notice period and soon left. When they left, the entire house was painted, except my daughters room. Contractors would turn up unannounced: 7 people on one occasion being landlord, landlords daughter, estate agent, a viewing, carpet fitter and painters/decorators all in one go!
The smoke detectors became faulty and despite repeated reporting to Eastons, this was not taken care of until I became involved many months later. SAFETY OF TENANTS IS NOT A PRIORITY.
The cleaner never appeared even though this was queried with Eastons, contact was ignored repeatedly.
Whenever contacting Lorraine, Julie, Lavina and Charlotte and we were always fobbed off to someone else, rather than politely forwarding the query. Their attitude is blunt to the point of being rude. In order to get any response from Eastons, rather than being nice you are better mirroring their appalling attitude.
Customer service appears bottom of the priority for this estate agent. Avoid at all costs, even if the ideal property is with them, you are better off going through anyone else.

In response to your reply from previous review, I am actually an estate agent myself out of the area and I am very understanding of certain situations. However, I was initially told the landlord had found his own tenant not through Eastons and then for me to follow it up as it was still showing available and to be told Eastons had someone going through referencing was very disheartening. We never got the opportunity to increase our offer further and we were never told there were multiple people bidding for the flat. We was told there was one other couple and they didn’t get it either. So yes, I feel we were lied to and did not get a fair opportunity to bid for the flat.
