Shop pressure treated railway sleepers for raised beds, garden edging, retaining borders, steps, seating and outdoor landscaping projects. Their substantial timber section makes garden sleepers a practical choice for creating strong, defined features in both traditional and contemporary gardens. Our timber railway sleepers measure 100mm x 200mm x 2.4m and are sourced from UK and Irish sawmills. Choose from green or natural and brown pressure treated finishes to complement fencing, planting and existing garden timber. Sleepers can be laid flat for a broader 100mm-high course or positioned on edge to create 200mm of height. Use our railway sleeper calculator to estimate the number required for a raised bed, border or straightforward landscaping project. Whether you need sleepers for a compact planter or a larger garden layout, East Coast Fencing is backed by more than 20,000 customer reviews across Trustpilot and Google. Need more product guidance? I ordered 4 "railway sleepers" and the 4 left with me all look fine. This is important as they will be supporting a small summerhouse where the original ones have rotted. I have yet to use any of them and will need to cut at least one of them . I have done this some years ago and judging by the weight of the sleepers and appearance I do not anticipate any problems.
