Avoid this company
Avoid this company. From the very beginning communication was a nightmare. Mike simply does not answer emails, and every detail of the booking and payment had to be chased over and over again through WhatsApp. Even after the transfer was done, no receipt was ever sent despite several reminders — it finally arrived more than two weeks later, only after constant insistence.
When we finally picked up the campervan, it was clear that maintenance and cleanliness are not priorities for this company. The van was dirty, there were no cleaning supplies at all, and the kitchenware didn’t inspire any confidence — especially after finding out that screws had actually been tightened with knives from the cutlery set and then placed back in the drawer. It was obvious the vehicle had not been properly checked before being handed to us.
On the second day we had a serious problem: the AdBlue warning light came on, telling us the engine would stop in 500 miles. This forced us to change our plans and refill it ourselves. When we spoke with Ted on the phone, he promised that we would be refunded. Later Aisha repeated the same promise, but of course the refund never came.
As if that wasn’t enough, on the last day the water heater hose burst, leaving us without running water for the final two days. The only “solution” suggested was to try to patch it with duct tape, which says everything about how this company handles breakdowns. We even noticed other vans from their fleet on the road with visible duct tape repairs on the outside.
Overall the whole experience was extremely disappointing: poor communication, no hygiene standards, unreliable equipment and promises that were not kept. We ended up with the feeling of being scammed rather than having rented from a professional company. For your own peace of mind, I strongly recommend choosing another rental company in Scotland.
