E are Great

I joined E recently and know for a fact that they are the cheapest prepayment provider as I did a lot of research. Jonathan has got his sums wrong – I’m on a no standing charge tariff and I pay 53.05p/kwh for the 1st 2 kwh then 26.07p/kwh for everything else that day.

If you are on a standing charge tariff with Ovo it's 54.74p a day and 26.84p/kwh for EVERY unit.

So, if you use 2 units with E it’s 53.05 x 2 = £1.06 and with Ovo its 54.74 + 2 x 26.84 = £1.08. Ovo are MORE expensive. Also, if you use nothing in a day (I don’t use gas in the summer) then you pay nothing with E but pay the standing charge of 54.75p per day (£3.83 a week) with Ovo.

I can always get through to E, their App is good and I got my Warm Home payment before Christmas.

This company is a scam. Beware

I am giving this company to based only on their staff who are very nice. I changed to E energy from OVO as it was recommended by which. Oh jesus its the worst thing I have ever done it's so expensive don't be fooled. I have literally used £48 in electric in 10 days. I usually only top up £100 a month. I now realise why ovo charged 27p kWh electric but E charge 63p kWh and 28p kWh. The 63p is to make up for standing charge they say they don't charge them it ( is supposed to) drops to the 28p. So basically they charge more than double a kWh for part of the day to make up for the standing charge. That's where all my money has gone. It's a scam, it is cheaper to pay standing charge, they have been ripping me off. I am changing to utility warehouse next week after under 2 weeks which is 27p kWh. Hopefully I will claw some money back. Thank god I noticed and this company should be investigated. Stay away!

Had one of their sales guys knock with…

Had one of their sales guys knock with a fab sales pitch name dropping neighbours who have switched and after 6 years with my previous provider decided to change, apparently they favour their pay as you go customers and you do not pay a standing charge ( you do ) after being a customer for 3 weeks I have had nothing but issues, their app is rubbish, v basic and you can never see your top ups, smart meter obviously isn’t compatible as it doesn't give a true reading which has resulted in me running out without warning as I’m getting no notifications which is odd because when you call them ( only available office hours ) they repeat you're email address by Phonetic Alphabet on EVERY call! I called this morning as I’m using way more gas and electric and the girl I spoke to wasn’t helpful at all, told me that my top up from the day before hadn’t gone on the meter so I have to key in lots of numbers to which it was rejected she then said ‘ it must have gone on then? The customer service staff have 0 skills to give any support/basic technical advice. She then told me my smart meter isn’t compatible as it’s from my previous supplier and if I want a new one I would have to pay for it? In 3 weeks I have gone off supply 4 times even tho I had credit on the meter and they can’t Help/ advise or be bothered, I told her I will be leaving and she said ok? I don’t usually write reviews but if you do get sucked in to switching please don’t you will regret it

DO NOT SWITCH WITH THIS COMPANY

Absolutely appalling, changed over on the 3rd, always paid by direct debit, then my gas goes off, got the council out thinking it’s the boiler. No the gas company has turned it off and not told me it will be card top ups, I have no cards, the metre is saying 18£ debt, iv rang explained I don’t have cards or money unti Tuesday and that I have a 9 month old, no heating no hot water, I said I’m going to change over if monthly payments won’t be accepted, the guy then said he can’t help me if I change over and he would refer me to somewhere on Monday!!! Bribing me to stay with the shit company who’s had no compassion, even crying on the phone because I can’t handle it, DO NOT USE!!!

Useless and unhelpful company ive ever come across

Glad to get rid of having my energy supplied from this company. They will not offer any help with equipment is going wrong. Expect you to wait 10 working days of no signal to them before they help you. I said this is not good enough il go elsewhere to get my energy from, they didnt care whatsoever considering ive been a customer for many years, instead I got advice from a another company on to purchase a new ivie bud as mine is old and out of guarantee. Bearing this in mind another company who im not with shouldn't need to help me with my problems of topping up my meter. When I do change supplier, E does nothing but harass me to stay with them. Perhaps help your customers if they have problems or issues with the equipment they supplied with
Good riddance to poor and bad service. AVOID at all costs!

Not very honest

When your energy increases they will blame you on having a Old boiler to dripping taps and inform you when winter months are if you want to pay the same energy as a six bedroom detached house crack on ,they only be to happy to part you from your money certainly no honestly going on my gas went from 7,000kwh per annum to 23,000Kwh costing currently 100 pounds a week for one bed house 3 radiators and a gas fire. I've saved 2,700 pounds by switching I'm terminally ill which makes the whole experience more shocking

Meter coming to end of its ( 15 year) battery life, E were right on it by phone. Honestly they could not have been more helpful, patient and ‘ can do’ and it was right at the end of their working day. I’ve been with them for quite a few years now and this was the first time I’ve had to contact customer services and very very positive in a tough world of challenges and high expectations , 100% solid company
