Very very bad customer service

There are very bad Customer services especially on phone calls. We bought appliances over 10k my freezer door has a dent on the same day as delivery day I complained twice but they didn't solve the problem we talked to 1 of the ladys one the phone but she was very rude. they promised that they would give me some refunds but they didn't so I'm never going to buy anything from that store again and I recommend that you don't either.

We purchased a large 8 piece palliser…

We purchased a large 8 piece palliser sectional. In the first year one of the motors went on a recliner. It took almost 6 mths and 3 trips to get the right one. The salesman sold us on the fabric after taking a key to it, and promised it was indestructible and better than leather. Before the first year was up the lean on the one recliner cracked and practically disintegrated. They replaced that one. The console fabric started wearing and the arm on one recliner. Now the fabric has been discontinued. We haven’t even had it 5 years. We spent $7000 and took good care of it. They just say there’s nothing they can do, even if we’re willing to pay for a repair. It’s basically garbage.

Garbage company, garbage products

I was waiting since November 2025 and have already accommodated multiple delays and backorders. I was told December 22, then it got back ordered again January 6th then January 12th. I made myself available for delivery for two months. It is not reasonable to expect me to take a full day off work due to ongoing issues on their. I asked them to accommodate times where I do not have to take a full day and get delivery after 4:30pm, guestcare agreed to this but the delivery people refused so I asked for 2:30pm, they refused again. The coffee table I ordered that did come in time, 3/4 wheels broke off within the first month. I moved the coffee table twice!!! Absolute garbage company with even more garbage products. Save your money and buy from somewhere better quality. Not to mention customer service is horrible, good luck speaking to a real person. It’s all AI now.
I canceled my order. Will never order from there again.

Purchased couches

Purchased a TV, couches and chest freezer. Delivery was cancelled due to delivery truck unable to find my address. Delivery was rescheduled for 4 days later. Received white glove delivery, couches and tv were perfect but the freezer was very damaged. Delivery men were very quick setting up couches and positioning them. Very professional! They took the damaged freezer back and reported it. I received a replacement in just over a week. My experience with Dufresne has been excellent, from the shopping to the purchase to the delivery.

Horrible company in Saskatoon

Horrible company in Saskatoon. I bought furniture from them and I made the terrible mistake to go through their "financing company."

They set me up with 35% interest per month after the "no interest" period ended. And the love seat is lousy quality. The pillows are already squished flat after less than a year of use, something that the salesperson told me wouldn't happen.

Do not give your money to these spiders.

Sales and delivery great

Sales and delivery great. The salesperson was friendly but not pushy - whether I shopped in main area or in discounted part of store. I found what I wanted. The terms were clearly discussed.

Delivery was well arranged, providing updates on arrival time as well. When they arrived, they were very friendly and professional.

I purchased a fold out couch which…

I purchased a fold out couch which after the second use the head portion falls to the floor, the matress slides out the head end when you try to fold it up making it impossible and the bolts (w/o nuts just screwd in to light weight metal) stripped out and let all of the springs holding the base to the frame fall on the floor. Because it was a recent purchase I contacted their "help" line.
Over the course of the next hour or so I was passed between customer reps (3 total) who literally had to spell for me what they were saying because their accent were so strong they were impossible to understand. What they were able to finally get across was the only help was an AI chatbot. Nothing but dropdown menus that did not pertain to my issue. I sent photos of the issue, they would not accept the the asked for a warranty # ???? no indication of where this could be found and no place to ask the question so no way to get help. It worked EXACTALY like intended. Banal, dehumanizing, nonsense designed to delay, deflect and solve nothing.
The good news is I was able to find a phone number for the store I purchased it from and they are trying to help resolve this issue. I thank them for that.
As for the chatbot "help" line, shame on you for calling that worthless nonesense service.

A "Meh" Experience

In December, 2024 I ordered a new dining room table set from Dufresne. The table arrived damaged, they brought it back to be fixed - brought it back, it was still damaged. Sent it back again, arrived damaged again.

Their customer service team refuses to do business over email and force you to talk to someone on the phone. Welcome to 2025 I guess.

A "Better Experience" is what you get when you meet your customer where they are at, take ownership of your mistakes, and not force customers to jump through hoops to get support.

We have shopped at Dufresne Furniture… and very disappointed with customer service!

We have shopped at Dufresne Furniture for many years as well as our family members. In October 2024 we purchased a mattress and also 2 recliners, the mattress came within days and we’re happy with it. They told us the recliners would be 6 to 8 weeks before delivery. On January 2nd we called to check On the delivery date and they said it would be at least another eight weeks. At that point we said, please cancel our order as we don’t want to wait any longer. We called the manager at the Nairn store Winnipeg and Janet said she would work with us, but then said if you cancel you will be charged $720 for restocking. We agreed to purchase more furniture and appliances, not all at the same time, but in the future. We need new sofa and appliances but not all at once. The chairs were not finished, so why wait 16 weeks or more for delivery. We were not told when we purchased the recliners that we would have to wait more than four months. So she refused to cancel the order, and when we called back in February Janet was very rude to us and said you have to pay for cancelling And that she is going to charge our Fairstone account. Today I got a notice that she charged us $801. We feel this is outrageous! A big company like Dufresne should have a little more leniency and better customer service!! We are seniors on pension and feel like we were ripped off and treated horribly. Our family will never shop there again and will let our friends know that Dufresne do not care about their customers!

Pathetic excuse for an e-commerce site

I used their e-commerce system for buying a small item (eye night time cover). System worked well, but that was about it!

They seem to treat every purchase as if it is a 900kg sofa!!! I was supposed to get a delivery option message, never came. Talked to customer support, and promised return calls, never came. It was shipped around the country and they still wanted to schedule a delivery to me.

It was a 0.5kg package!!! Get with the times Dufresne, send by UPS, would have saved your company a ton of handling costs and resulted in a happy customer.

Ordered it Dec 5, received it Jan 7 and went to pick it up from a local drop off point. WTF!!! 🤬

Your e-commerce team should come into the 21st century and update their antiquated practices, policies and procedures. Pathetic!

No comment from my request to speak to an executive. Like to hide I guess.

They do not honor their warranty

During covid we bought a standup freezer. Dufresne dropped it off outside my house and when I got home from work we found it in our yard, with no inspection done on it. We bought the extended warranty to give us 5 years no questions asked to replace the freezer and 300 bucks for our meat lost. Just under a year the freezer quit, we lost all our meat, I called in. They sent a guy, we told him that we paid for the extra warranty to have it replaced, he was told to fix what was needed. He replaced the motor and the fan. 8 months later it quit again. He replaced the control panel and with further inspection the door didn't even fit the box of the freezer letting warm air in the whole time. He replaced the door. After another year it quit again we lost our meat the third time. I called it in. They told me that they paid more in repairs then what the freezer is worth, so they are now done with my warranty and that I'm stuck with a freezer that is no good. They are a bunch of crooks. Do not buy from them

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

If I could give a minus 5 I would. Very poor customer service after purchases. Purchased a dining room set which every piece was damaged which was delivered yesterday I do not want this set any longer and they want me to pay 25% restoking fee for a damaged furniture. They want to fix the issues, but damaged is extensive. Was charged $150.00 delivery fee for which furniture was left at my home entrance, no installation. Pure robbery. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM DUFRESNE FURNITURE

the shop on cryville road is a scam…

the shop on cryville road is a scam shop I bought a bedroom set since August delivery plan for September 7th I didn't heard from them even to apologize for the delay. I went on September 26 to delete de order even though I will lose 10% the promised to deliver soon and reduce delivery by 100$, on November 11 they delivered half of the set till today I didn't received the dresser and no call for update i called them complaining about their silence and delay they are telling me that 100$ refund for delay so just wait, after buying a 6000 item here is how I have been treated and scammed. Worst shop to deal with no customer respect after they got your money.

Avoid at all costs

Placed an order in 2022, here we are on July 2023 still waiting for my items. Reached out several times for updates and keep getting told It's on the way, I am done waiting and will be cancelling. I highly recommend avoiding this extremely disorganized company that doesn't care whether you receive your order or not.

I bought a sectional couch about a year…

I bought a sectional couch about a year ago worst couch i ever bought and can't return it just take pics and send a technician out that won't solve anything cushion don't stay in and it's so uncomfortable. It's not worth 2 dollars let alone 2000 that I paid for it. I stuck now will never buy from them again.

once they got your money, they don't care at all!!!!

To Whom It May Concern

We recently purchased furniture from your company, and had a really unfortunate experience. We were supposed to have our mattress and stand delivered. There was issues with the paperwork drawn up by Dufresne which ended up with not only preventing our mattress to be delivered, but the delivery people had an argument with my partner who had taken the day off work to be home for the delivery. When I called the store, they told me since our salesperson wasn’t in that day, there was really nothing they could do as he was the one to write up the paperwork incorrectly. When I asked to have the person converse with their manager about it, they said they’d call me back but after an hour of waiting I drove down to the store myself. It was then determined that the stand was never on the truck in the first place, and it was suggested I use my current box spring until the once I purchased arrived. My box spring and new mattress aren’t even the same size. When I brought the issues up by email with our salesman, he basically said there was nothing he could do and to contact customer care. When I inquired on the website chat, the person said they couldn’t help and asked me to call in and speak to somewhere. I asked if there was an email address as I prefer email communication and was told there was indeed an email address but it would never be checked or responded to. Then why have the email address in the first place? We were then spoke to customer care and were offered a $40 credit. We stated that would be insufficient at which time we were told they’d have to get approval from a manager and would call us back. More than 12 days later we called and the person on the phone expressed surprise as there was a note on file that an offer was left on our voicemail and we never responded. We never received such voicemail. We were offered $140, but had requested a new pillow. The person on the phone suggested we contact our local store to see if they’d be able to give us a pillow at that price. We reached out, and have yet again been ignored. We’re losing our patience at this point. We chose Dufresne for your reputation and unfortunately are sorrily disappointed. It’s as if as soon as you got our money, we no longer mattered. Please contact me as soon as possible to resolve this issue. Thank you,

I went on your website and sent this exact complaint word for word to the complaint email. I even got a email from you acknowledging you received my complained, that was Nov 23rd at 16:04

I then posted this exact comment yesterday on a different Dufresne page.They deleted my comment and gave me no reply at all!

So the employee who caused the issues ignored my email, the official website ignored a complaint email and now an official Facebook page has deleted and ignored a complaint

I'm furious!
