Misleading practices and disrespect for consumer rights

Ordered a sale item and tried to return it, which was initially denied – even though that's against EU consumer law. They eventually accepted the return, but then claimed there was a "strange smell" and sent it back to me without any proof. The item was unworn and in perfect condition. Very disappointing customer service and a clear disregard for consumer rights. Shocking that a company like this is still allowed to operate while misleading and taking advantage of customers.

Update: After many emails and having to threaten further action, they finally accepted the return and refunded the money. A long and unnecessary battle that no customer should have to go through.

Wrong item sent

I was given the wrong item. I contacted them and they said the item I ordered was out of stock. It could not be replaced with the same item in a different color for the same price. Replies were kind, but were unwilling/unable to come to a agreeable solution.

Hoodie was too small

Hoodie was too small, send it back to them. I was promised a bigger size and suddenly there were dirty spot’s on the hoodie. After hearing this they said they’ll send my hoodie back. It has been 2 weeks since and nothing arrived. They also don’t respond anymore to my emails.

Shit company, don’t buy here!!!!!

"Refused to refund after return – unacceptable customer service"

I placed an order on Drôle de Monsieur's website in April 2025.
After returning the item in perfect condition within the legal withdrawal period, they refused to refund me, inventing false excuses ("laundry scent").

I had to file formal complaints with ECC-Net, DGCCRF (French consumer protection authority).

Their after-sales service and handling of consumer rights are absolutely unacceptable.

I strongly advise potential customers to be extremely cautious.

Terrible Experience - Drôle de Monsieur Not Trustworthy

I ordered from droledemonsieur.com and had one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever encountered. After placing my order and paying quite a bit, I received no meaningful shipping updates for weeks. When I contacted their customer service several times, they opened an "investigation" but kept delaying any real solution.

Despite multiple requests to cancel my order and issue a refund because it would not arrive in time, they refused. The other tracking is showing it as never shipped.

They insisted I wait for their internal process without offering any real help. As of today, I have neither received the product nor a refund.

Based on my experience, and after reading many other reviews reporting similar issues, it is clear that something is seriously wrong with this brand.

What a terrible service!

What a service! Received my package within a week, but still a couple of days later then planned

The fit/size was totally not what I expected.
I requested a return, NOT POSSIBLE.
2 days late. But I also recieved it a couples days later?? Everting I asked or suggested, was NOT POSSIBLE. But they did wish me an "excellent day"
Now I am stuck with 4 € 110,- shirts with a shit-fit.

Terrible company avoid at all costs

Terrible company like others on here dispatch and processing is full of excuses, ordered over a month ago yet still no dispatch customer services keep saying very busy, have had 2 different responses to dispatch yet still just processing.
Shocking is all i would say dont bother ordering from here

Loyal customer turned down

Have been a loyal customer of the brand for years.
No have been waiting for my order since January 8 and today is February 27.
They have kept saying for weeks that they have logistical problems. Now, apparently they’ve been resolved since a few weeks, but still nothing arrived and no answer to any message.
Absolutely terrible and no customer service at all. Looking forward to communicate with them and receiving my order, hopefully.

Wat a disgrace of a webshop

Wat a disgrace of a webshop. my order took 30 days to arrive (ordered in january and delivery halfway Feb). Emails aren't being answered and when returning you need to wait for THEIR confirmation. what a show. DO NOT ORDER HERE.

Poor craftsmanship

I purchased an expensive leather jacket 3 months ago from this company and the rivets on the pocket have already come off. Awful customer service, I just wished I’d read the reviews first! Buyers beware!

Illegal non refundable practices, customer care horrible

Came across this brand online and it looked great. The sizing however is completely off regular sizing (size down one or maybe two!) and also quality of shirts is below expectation. This can happen but then if you want to return items you should be able to do so. European law requires companies to accept returns. They refer to accepting their terms and conditions but T&C cannot go above European law. They are misleading customers and their customer care is horrible. Strongly recommend to NOT buy here.

AVOID THIS BRAND

Terrible quality, terrible customer service, and they make it impossible for you to return their overpriced items.

I cannot understand how they're charging around £400 for worst coat I've ever worn, the design looks cool but it just feels like cheap plastic.
