I had a very poor experience working with DOORS NYC as an artist.
They held my framed prints for an extended period with zero sales, then gave me last-minute pressure to remove the work with repeated “dispose” language if it wasn’t picked up quickly. I live in Los Angeles. They packaged my art before contacting me and When I asked for photos/verification of the condition and packing before shipment, they refused to reopen the package.
The assigned “success manager” communication was also extremely inconsistent—slow replies, then rushing and escalating as if I was the delay. When the return shipment arrived damaged, the response was to deflect responsibility and blame me (pushing it as a UPS/insurance issue), rather than taking ownership of the return packing.
When the work arrived back to me, the packing was totally unacceptable: minimal sealing, crushed box corners, and multiple framed pieces placed directly against cardboard with inadequate padding. The result was damage to eight of the twelve frames, which was completely avoidable with basic common-sense packing.
I documented everything with photos and video, requested reimbursement for frame replacements at cost, and escalated to leadership — no response.
I’m leaving this review to warn other artists: avoid DOORS NYC.

Super professional staff, had a great experience at the store and it is one of the best places to find unique designers.
Beware! Though this is an American based site, items are being shipped internationally. You will be charged a tariff cost.

Great team and great exposur!! DOORS NYC marked our brand’s first time being presented in the New York market, and it was an exciting and positive experience. Pop-ups have always been a pleasure for us, and through DOORS we also gained valuable visibility with PR, magazines, and industry exposure.
Overall, DOORS NYC helped us gain confidence in our international potential, refine our narrative, and better understand how to communicate our identity outside of Mexico. It was a meaningful experience that contributed to our growth and long-term vision as a brand.
Loved this place , amazing choice & great staff .

Fantastic spot for unique fashion finds. The staff was kind and genuinely helpful, and the store had an amazing mix of styles. Will definitely visit again!
Great medium, connecting emerging designers and artists with a global audience.
Service is terrible. I still have not received my order or any follow up emails

I have enjoyed my time with DOORS thus far as a designer, I particularly liked working with Tiffany who has been constantly trying to showcase my pieces, the retail team is also amazing, they got to know me as a brand and have been speaking on behalf of the brand which is powerful for retail. And the opportunities that being the in store have thus far been provided have been wonderful, from events, to ability to use the space, networking and exposure. Overall, I think it has been an important part of my brand's growth journey.
Working with doors. brings real value—to my brand and to me as a designer. Seeing my work come to life through their amazing content, PR, events, and social media is incredibly exciting. Watching it breathe on the streets of New York feels like it’s found its natural habitat.
I entered into a 6-month BASIC membership with DOORS under the impression that it would be a collaborative, value-driven partnership — one that supported and amplified emerging brands like mine. Sadly, that promise was not fulfilled.
In the first four months, DOORS delivered only one performance report and posted just two social media mentions — far below what was discussed and expected. The communication was minimal, and the support felt more like a checkbox exercise than a meaningful effort to promote our brand.
This was never meant to be a one-sided transaction. Yet, despite honoring our side of the agreement, we saw very little return in terms of visibility, engagement, or brand growth. What’s worse, being asked to pay a $300 cancellation fee — rather than being met with a constructive conversation about how to improve the partnership — makes it clear that DOORS is more focused on short-term revenue than genuinely helping the brands it claims to champion.
If DOORS had acknowledged the shortcomings and shown any willingness to improve, I might have considered working with them again in the future. But instead, I’ve been left feeling unsupported and penalized for stepping away from a partnership that simply hasn’t delivered.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share this to help other new and upcoming brands make informed decisions. If you’re expecting hands-on support, transparency, or impactful promotion from DOORS, you may want to look elsewhere.

Absolutely love Doors NYC—my favorite find this year! Website super easy to navigate, always discovering cool designers never seen anywhere else. Every order I've placed arrived fast, wrapped beautifully (felt like unwrapping a gift!), and the clothes were even better in person. Customer service is super friendly too—answered all my questions quickly and actually seemed to care. Can't recommend enough if you want something unique and high-quality. Definitely coming back for more!
