Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing, noting that items frequently cost more than expected at the register, leading to unexpected charges. They also found that the quality of products did not justify the increased prices, leading to a perception that the value proposition had diminished. Reviewers also frequently encountered issues with staff, describing them as rude, unhelpful, and sometimes unprofessional. Some people were dissatisfied with the retail environment, citing concerns about store upkeep, cleanliness, and disorganization, with aisles often cluttered and shelves empty. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that some locations offered a positive shopping experience, with friendly and helpful employees and well-displayed merchandise, making it easy to find items.

Next to Walmart the worst customer service around

What went wrong what didn't go wrong basically and has been going wrong with this company since a couple years ago I don't know what happened but they went from a good company caring about their customers to just flat out not giving a damn their inventory is always gone the staff suck the Management's even worse because they're the ones that let these flipping horrible horrible staff treat people the way they do and the managers are 12 flippingng years old the way they act I've seen third graders act more grown up than the managers who run those stores it's a joke when you're allowed to treat people like shit with the manager standing right there that tells you exactly how unprofessional and how just they don't give a damn about their customers so good written as Dollar tree I can't wait till you go out of business! And to top it all off they have started closing whenever the fthey feel lik! They just tell customers were costing in 2 min with 10 minutes left until they're supposed to close but hey you know that's okay don't worry about the people that just get off of work and need to come catch that last 10 minutes that you decide to close early because you're too lazy to work any longer and this is the last thing I promise on three separate occasions at the same store but again three separate occasions with three separate people I'm walking out the door and out the park into the parking lot I hear a voice yell and don't come back ever so I turn around and going ask what that was about and because they are judgmental pricks who don't know anything about anything they thought I was stealing when I wasn't I had forgotten my wallet once and then two other times I just couldn't find what I wanted which I thought was allowed but when you have three different people through the same thing that tells me your management is teaching you horrible horrible wrong things when you're being trained that is no way to treat a customer no matter what they do I don't care what they do there's never ever a reason to yell at a customer out the door that's why this company is nothing but a damn joke

Trouble At Dollar Tree

I went into Dollar Tree about two months ago, and got in line. While in line I noticed that there was kitchen utensils on the conveyor belt, I asked the customer in front of me if the things were his, the reply was no. While the cashier rang up the customers items, I waited quietly for about three minutes. A woman walked up behind me and informed me that she was in line and that I needed to allow her to get back into her place. I informed the young lady that placing items in line and going back to pick out other items does not mean that she is in line and that her things cannot hold a place in line for her. The young lady began hollering at me and I tried not to engage her. After dealing with the badgering of me I replied to the woman angrily and we began arguing. The cashier did not address the issue. Another employee intervened abd addressed me as the problem, I informed her that when I git in line the young lady was not in line, and she being hostile and aggressive and my shopping experince should not be hostile, aggressive or create an anxiousness within aby shopper. I was informed again that I am the problem and asked to leave the store. I called the corporate office and explained the scenario, and suggested that the company should put up signs letting customers know that leaving items on the counter and going back to pick out other items does not constitute that the items hold the shoppers place in line. I explained my culture, however I did not give them my age or the fact that I am a Veteran. I asked for a return call, and have yet to hear back from the corporate office. I wonder if my culture was the reason for the lack of response or my gender since I was dealing with an issue with a female consumer. Either way, as a long time customer I will not be going back to the store since my concerns did not warrant a call from anyone from the company/corporate office. It is time that we stop supporting companies that do not support us and only want our money. If a consumer has a concern, and addresses it within the companies guidelines the company should care enough to address those concerns or reply to the consumer. Companies are becoming more elusive, and creating a wider gap between themselves and their consumers. When will companies become accountable to its consumers like the old days?

Monday 3/30/26. Churchville Maryland

It is Monday, March 30 and I had to run some errands. One of the places I needed to come with the Dollar Tree because I needed some bows for Easter and a birthday. The store where I shopped was on Churchville Road in Bel Air Maryland .
Of course I got some other things as well and when I got to the checkout counter there was a young man there named Mueez.
He was probably the most helpful and the friendliest person I have ever seen in all of my years of coming to any Dollar Tree, and more than likely one of the most
genuinely warm sales people I have ever dealt with.
I’ve been alive a very long time and I have come in contact with thousands of sale people over my lifetime. This young man needs to be recognized for his kindness and his smile. In this world when so many want to hate each other and hurt each other going shopping can be a chore. He made it more than bearable so I hope you let him know , and I hope that you do whatever you can to keep him there because it could only do your store a world of good to keep him as an employee. Thank you for hiring him and making my day, as well as the day of others others wonderful.

No money change

There is no zero, I would give that. Went there Saturday, payed Cash, change would be 7 Cent, Cashier just gave me the recipe, I ask for my change and she just said I don't have change. No signs anywhere in the store that there is no change in I would pay with my card. So not sure how long this is going, so you making money on top when people buy stuff. This is robbery. Is the principle that count, with how many customers are you doing this and how long.

Wonderful Dollar Tree Experience

I went to the Dollar Tree #5542 on 2053 Venice Blvd.LA, CA 90006 on Wednesday Mar.18, 2026 and it was amazing. I asked if they had new ownership or managers and they said no. The store was completely different in every good way possible, fully stocked, perfect customer service, lots of carts available. It was wonderful. I have been going there for years and it was the best experience I have ever had at that one.

Makes you mad when a person would like to have a fair shot at finding a treasure hot wheel, but you walk in and find them allowing certain people probably family or a good friend to put up the hot wheels and have first pick totally not fair!!!! Put your hot wheels up yourselves. You’re the employee !! Quit letting people have their pick out of the box. It should be a fair shot for everyone on hot wheels total BS.

Regarding Store Policy Enforcement

Regarding Store Policy Enforcement
I was informed today that customers are not permitted to enter the store with an open tote bag. What I find difficult to understand is how this policy is applied so rigidly while, at the same time, customers may legally enter the store carrying a concealed firearm.
The contrast raises an obvious question about consistency and logic in the policy’s enforcement.
For the past three years, I have shopped at this location regularly and developed a respectful relationship with the store staff. I routinely brought a reusable shopping tote and made it clear to employees that they were welcome to inspect it at any time. Clerks were familiar with this arrangement and it was never an issue. It worked because it was based on simple trust and common sense.
Unfortunately, that reasonable understanding ended today when a manager chose to enforce the rule in a way that was unnecessarily rigid and dismissive. No effort was made to consider the long-standing arrangement or the fact that I had always been fully cooperative and transparent.
Policies exist for good reasons, but good management also requires judgment, context, and basic respect for customers who have demonstrated good faith over time.
Today’s interaction reflected none of those qualities.

While shopping at dollar tree in Euless…

While shopping at dollar tree in Euless TX, at the State Highway 121 location I was the second person to be checked out by a cashier , after completing the transaction of the person in front of me the cashier said NOTHING she just walked away and went out the front door. The customer behind me asked did she go on break or something I advised I didn't know. I spotted a employee stocking so I went to her and told her what happened, her reply was that is the manager, I and other customers were appalled that this person had the title of Mgr. The person that was stocking took over the cashier responsibilities and apologize for the person with the title of manager. UNREAL!
