If your insurance company use crawford…

If your insurance company use crawford and co as their assessor find a new one ASAP. I would not want anyone to go through what we have gone through. Our house was broken into in January after 4 years of our cars, business being targeted the scumbags decided to take a chance at our house, we have 2 large dogs that were kept quiet with joints of meat. Crawfords have made us feel like the criminals, they have ignored emails, phone-calls, they have tried to trick us into changing statements to fit them, we was told we added things onto the claim when we have emails to police officers from day one with photos of said items. I was questioned to why i didn’t tell them about my engagement ( which happened 4 months prior to the robbery) told I proposed with the same ring i was claiming for, i was told their experts decided my watch was a fake from
Photos which is impossible to do, watch specialists can’t determine this by a photo. Constantly on annual leave and off work on a mondays and fridays weekly leaving our cliam sat on a desk. I have added photos of the rings in question. Anyone with eyes can see they are different rings, This company should be struck off as they are obviously incapable of doing the job. Im with halifax and have already been awarded £250 Due to the time its taken crawfords. I have also contacted the financial ombudsman who have accepted my complaint and looking into this further. I suffer with PTSD, Crawfords have caused nothing but stress since the day they contacted us. They simply drag out these claims to get more money from the banks for work they are putting in.

Pure scam

Pure scam, simple as that

If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate situation where you have a claim with these clowns, they'll simply violate the agreement and ignore any complains

I guess they hope people won't go thrugh the trouble of suing them

Absolutely appalling

Two years into a subsidence claim. At each step of the way I had to place tens of calls to generate any kind of progress. Last reading was taken four months ago and zero progress has been made since then. Most of the times, I am unable to reach anyone (let alone the case handler) at Crawford. Whenever I do manage to reach someone, they say the case is "with another team", they promise to get back to me with an update... and I never hear from them again. Yesterday, the lady I spoke to misled me about their complaints procedure and lied about sending me copies of documents. The most abominable customer service I have ever come across. Avoid at all costs.

Incompetent beyond belief

This company is awful. You can never get through to them by phone, they never answer emails. When you do finally get through, they are disinterested and rude. They sub contract out to companies to do the remedial work for them - these companies appear to be as disinterested and incompetent as they are. So far, I have had 6 surveyors attending my property still with no resoIution. My property is only a 3 bed semi and the damage amounts only to a few cracks in the walls. I have no idea why my claim is causing so much consternation! I also have no idea why Insurance Companies eg More Than would want to align themselves with such a company. I have been waiting 3 years for my subsidence claim to be completed. Out of exasperation, I have now decided to just take the money and do it myself. I have currently been waiting 10 days for the money, with no feedback to say they have received the documentation or are processing my claim.

The companies service is diabolical

The companies service is diabolical. We were appointed a loss adjuster who was non existent. Never returned calls, was never in control of the claim. Kept getting told they was on holiday!
We are four months on and still no further forward than when we started & that is with a vulnerable person in the household. Avoid, avoid, avoid this company!

Shocking

Shocking, gave me wrong information on my level of cover have told a bundle of lies to cover themselves. Delayed until I had no choice but to take an offer that was appalling. The misinformation, lies and delays has cost me more money as further repairs are now needed and I borrowed to start putting things right that turned out not to be. Avoid this company they are horrendous to deal with.

I don't even want to give them one star!! I have never know a company treat a client so badly, they take forever to answer the phone and make mistakes all along. I have waited two yeas 4 months now for a subsidence claim. I was told on Monday that I will receive the money into my account on that day and today 4 days later I had to call again as it has not been received, they have not done what they said. I will be glad when I get the settlement and I can proceed with things myself.

Awful service

Awful service. They appoint a loss adjuster and mess you around for ages. I have been ringing and ringing to chase my claim and all they say is the loss adjuster hasn't sent the report... spoke with the loss adjuster directly who claims he did. I've been going back and forth for weeks and now I suspect it's another tactic of theirs to put you off. They seem to have internal disputes are going on in their company leaves the claimant hanging and they clearly do not care. Thankfully after seeking legal advice I now know I have more rights than I realized. I'm going back to my insurer to start again.

Crawfords have been handling major…

Crawfords have been handling major repairs to my house (after neighbours fire) on behalf of Zurich. Due to extent and cost of repairs needed, they approved a a project manager from local surveyors to oversee the works on our behalf . Work was completed at the end of last year and fortunately the builders were paid. However it turns out the surveyors were not and are still chasing their fees from Crawfords, unpaid since start of this year. I am still chasing reBuilding related Expenses with Crawfords also since start of year. No idea what is going on there.
Update: Since I posted this I have been advised by solicitors handling claim for me on behalf of my insurers, that full liability has been accepted by neighbours insurers. This means I should be able to claim any uninsured losses. Crawfords have not kept me up to date with this.

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask

Not really sure how they are still trading.

My claim for roof damage was dismissed on the basis of 1 single tile being identified as having "degradation due to sunlight and weathering".

Absolutely laughable how sunlight can be so specific as to target 1 single tile only over time.

Just 1 of many seemingly fabricated get outs from their long list. Unhelpful from the start.

Spelling mistakes in all correspondence and just a general defensive and dismissive attitude. Also point blank refusing to answer questions relative to the claim and regurgitating responses (copy and paste).

Lazy, inept, unscrupulous, dismissive, rude, unhelpful. The list goes on.

The saddest thing is they are clearly untouchable and the fat cats will be laughing whilst counting their ill gotten gains. So many appalling reviews says it all but I doubt the fat cats give a dam - if they are even aware. The system is well and truly broken.

Pure cowboys.

Avoid at ALL costs.

Disrespectful and appalling service

I've had such an upsetting and stressful experience with Crawfords! I would never recommend using their services.

They were appointed as my loss adjustor during a drainage claim with my insurer Halifax. They are supposed to be coordinating all the various companies involved and updating me. However, if and when they have bothered to get in touch - they ask me for an update (the last time I spoke to my claims manager he phoned to ask me for an update and hadn't been able to look at the file because he was driving!). They don't bother to read their system to see what's happening with my claim, they're dismissive and uninterested when I do speak to them. Meanwhile, I'm living without a bathroom and a kitchen in chaos (and have been for three months). I'm freelance and don't get paid for the hours I'm having to spend doing the work they are supposed to be doing and getting updates from the 7 plus companies involved in the work. I texted my 'Claims Manager' 3 weeks ago asking for an update and haven't heard a thing from him. He's the second claims manager on the job as the first was so bad he had to be replaced. Halifax/Lloyds have upheld my first complaint about their poor communication and now I'll have to spend more time putting in a second complaint about them. Truly rude and disrespectful. If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars I would. Claim put into Allianz in March 2021. We are still getting the run around from Crawfords. Dealt with Sydney, Perth, Darwin, People leave and no one else picks up your case, they don't answer phones, answering machine message doesn't get returned. They are an absolute joke. We have had 2 quotes and still nothing from Crawfords. Allianz needs to get someone else to do their claims. 4 months and nothing, I have contacted or tried to today and see what happens.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is a complete joke. We were flooded in 2020, the loss adjusters were brilliant. Our work didn’t start immediately because of lockdown but as soon as lockdown eased the restoration work started on 14th July when building materials became available. 10 weeks after we moved back in we were flooded again… unfortunately this time we are with AXA who use Crawfords as their agents…. We’ve been lied to, brick wall after brick wall, and the loss adjuster is a complete incompetent. He tried to tell us that our building work, last year, didn’t start until October 2020 when it was well on the way to being completed. He tried to tell us that is is impossible for a claim to be actioned in less than 4 months…. When in 2021 we are the last flood damaged house in the village not only NOT to have our repairs started, but the only flood damaged house NOT to have our repairs completed. Everyone else has moved back into their houses. We have had to replace a lot of items beyond repair but haven’t had a final settlement of the contents list…. No one acknowledges emails, platitudes from the loss adjuster. D.W. The loss adjuster should be sacked. He always says how over worked he is, how he’s weeks behind in his work, but in the space between starting to handle our claim, February to today’s date he’s had two weeks holiday!!!! I have to say while AXA are one of the biggest insurers we will never get cover with them again and don’t recommend anyone else to get insurance with them as Crawfords, their agents, are an appalling company to deal with. You’ve been warned.

Truly shocking !

Terrible terrible terrible service and lack of transparency from a leading subsidence company who pride themselves on.
“Our specialist subsidence team provides clear, transparent information on every claim, making this complex issue simple for our customers”.
Sne Patel | Head of Subsidence | Crawford & Company, UK & Ireland

The claims handler Steven Halliwell who is dealing with this subsidence claim has an unethical character.

He instructed Excelsior 4, a contractor who Callum Woodhouse has a special relationship with.
Excelsior 4 were suppose to
re-do some temporary repairs - namely ease and adjust the back door (as it was not opening again due to the movement) and fill some cracks with a waterproof type sealant, as previously decorators caulk was used.
However, lo and behold the contractor came out to scope for work and said he was not there to carry out any temporary repairs ?
He stated the back door could not be opened and the cracks needed helibars ???
He would therefore have to get approval from Callum Woodhouse for a new door at £500. With that song he left. When I spoke to the claims handler the price for the new door went upto £1800 ??? Now we are talking about a standard timber rear door. The claims handler stated the policy holder would have to pay half of the cost upfront.
I therefore had no choice but to pay to get the door eased and adjusted myself as Steven Halliwell sided with the contractor and insisted the door needed replacing at a cost of £1800.
To date the cracks have not been filled thus allowing water penetration in since January 2021.
Avoid this company and keep meticulous notes when you have any dealings with them.
They drag out the whole process and disregard the customers needs.

Complaining does very little as the same behaviour continues time and time again.

Crawfords are only interested in suing the council In this particular case and are aligning the claim for their own benefit. There is no consideration for the customer or their losses.

I am happy for this review to be shared with Crawfords as senior management are perhaps not aware staff within the organisation are giving the business a bad reputation.

7 YEARS INTO AN ONGOING SUBSIDENCE CLAIM

The 1 Star is the lowest rating offered; it should be less. Crawford's new Chief Client Officer - Emma Parr claims “Her strong focus on our client relationships during this difficult time has fostered trust and compelled clients to choose us". Utter rubbish!

I wish venting about the shambolic service I've received from Crawford would light a fire under them but I know this is a fruitless exercise. Shame on MoreThan for dealing with this absolutely useless company.

Since 2014, after removal of practically all of the trees on my property and one massive council- owned oak tree, this subsidence claim continues with more and more monitor readings (feedback given every 5months) only to be told that more readings are required due to seasonal shifting. When will it end? I fully believe that the contractors are paid to extend these claims to save the companies (MoreThan & Crawford) money. I've had readings taken in July 2020 only to have my claims handler speak to the relevant contractor months later, mid-Dec, following an irate call from me. Resolution? Further monitor readings needed since there was movement due to the dry summer weather. These readings are taken in January, after which, radio silence. I finally call today for feedback forcing my claims handler to actually contact the elusive contractor (again, 5 months later) to discuss/review last January's readings. Resolution? Further monitor readings needed since there was movement due to the wet winter weather. I'm not psychic but I'd bet money what the contractor will say this September (I'll not be waiting until December!).

The incompetence is staggering and logging complaints do not yield tangible results. The absence of true account management and mealy-mouthed apologies from so-called claims handlers incense me. The poor communication skills between claims handlers, contractors and management means that most people are getting away with sub-par job performances. My empty conversations with supervisors are no better. I cannot comprehend how an account manager can continue to ignore his accounts and not be evaluated appropriately.

Apologies are now wasted on me. I'll be calling every single week or risk being placed on the back burner for months on end.

3 years into a subsidence claim, nothing has been done, however I am aware they are suing the local council to the tune of 27K for damage repairs which Crawford themselves have yet to authorise.

House Fire - Part 8 - Loss Adjustor from Crawfords is disgusting!!

Once again Crawfords have not met expectations and have not provided authorisation for the furniture pack to be sent.

While we have waited for this to be done, we have costed out the temporary furniture that we will need in the longer term temporary accommodation if it is to be bought instead of a furniture pack being provided.

We have been very reasonable asking for the basic needs for us a family, including my husband who is disabled and priced everything from Argos which is probably the cheapest around to buy from so as you can see we are not trying to take advantage, in fact the opposite. This all works out at about £6.5k (6.5% requested from temp acc. clause) and I am sure there are items we have missed or not thought about.

A furniture pack would be much easier for us as they would rent it and we would give back to them as we would not want to keep and put back into our main house once we are able to move back in.

So when this loss adjustor from Crawfords offered us £2.1k to cover beds, sofas, TV, the basics for each room, that you need to live with for a family of 3, 1 of whom is registered disabled and has specific needs, it is laughable. By the way this cash offer is 3% of our total temporary accommodation amount stated on our policy, so nowhere even close.

So if we take the upfront rent for our longer term accommodation, the deposit for that also, the Airbnb costs and the laughable one time cash offer for furniture, this is only 12% of our total temporary accommodation amount stated on the policy. If this doesn’t show you what tactics they use to save the insurers money by whatever means necessary, nothing will! I am disgusted by this loss adjustors behaviour.

Brooklin are trying their hardest to negotiate with Crawfords but the way Crawfords negotiate is to ignore certain parts of communications and not acknowledge them and just state what we should have, as if we should be grateful!!!

At present, the loss adjustor, from Crawfords, doesn’t seem or want to respond and thus places us in a very vulnerable situation! Ethical as Crawfords likes to promote, supportive as Crawfords likes to promote! No, not at all, or is it just this 1 loss adjustor who is portraying Crawfords in a very bad and shocking manner, unfortunately I can’t answer that!

AVOID THIS COMPANY.... AT ALL COSTS

Unfortunately we can’t put 0 stars. I’m going to eco other peoples reviews on this company THEY NEED CLOSING DOWN!!!!

We had a house fire in 2019 when first was appointed to them on the Saturday morning they were useless I had me, my husband and 2 children 3-1 year old with no home or close relatives to help had to pay for our own hotel until they found us one, which they kept us in for 3 months who can you entertain small children in 1 room and having to have takeout food 3 meals a day due to them not having a restaurant in the hotel which we had to pay for eveything and we only had £30 a day for us all to eat didn’t get us far but aslong as my children were fed thats all I cared about as would any mother. We tried to get this £30 allowance they said we could have we ended up being out of pocked as the money was very slow at being released our house didn’t even get work started on for a good 2-3 months. We lost eveything our clothes my children’s clothes, their toys teddies bedding beds whole lot due to the slow process of doing anything which meant it all had smoke damage again another cost we have to take out our own pocked in the beginning our loss adjuster was a joke we could never get through to him he would never return our calls one day he just vanished and we never got assigned a new adjuster 🤷🏻‍♀️ And then once the case has been closed you would think that’s it can forget it and move on with our lives after a very very stressful traumatic time for myself And my children.

1 year later.... we get harassing letters saying we owe them a ridiculous amount of money not being funny how the hell can they make a mistake like that as before moneys released they need to take it through so many different channels and have our receipts as evidence before you get the money so don’t try and mess with peoples mind especially when they have experienced a house fire when myself and my 2 children were inside during that time could of potentially lost our lives and they come back to us with that crap they don’t give a crap about peoples feelings they speak to you like crap and are useless money is all they care about god forbid if anyone who works for Crawfords experience anything that we went through.

I will also be putting a claim in against the for the stress they have caused us the last year harassing us. We have now involved a solicitor so looks like we will be taking them to court!!!!
