Spam/harassing communications

In January I purchased a boiler through BOXT. And I stress the word PURCHASED because paid in full, I never requested any finance at any stage.
Since the day after, I have been constantly receiving emails and texts from Divido, asking me to 'complete the application for your finance purchase'.
None of these emails or texts can be replied to in order to request them to stop. Divido should not even have my contact information as I never made a finance enquiry.

Hi Ross,

We’ve been in contact with BOXT to understand the situation.

It seems as though your original quote for a boiler was amended to add a missing flue to your order. To account for this, BOXT finance sent you a payment link for an additional £425. This payment link included Divido branding.

However, this payment link did not come from Divido. The link you were sent should not have been issued for a non-finance purchase. This seems to be the root of the problem.

We are aware that you returned part of your order which reduced the original outstanding amount of £425, which may have triggered BOXT to send another email. Again, any email you received in this interaction that featured Divido branding did not come from Divido.

BOXT has now realised the issue you were having and have waived your outstanding fee as a gesture of goodwill.

We apologise for the confusion and frustration you have felt during this process. As Trustpilot is the first time you came into contact with our business, we kindly ask that you remove this review.

Kind regards,
Nathan

Far from seemless

Application took over twelve hours to accept despite being told that in most cases I should receive a decision in twenty minutes. The consumerist worded email also had the nerve to say I should wait around the store till application has been accepted.

Once application was accepted and deposit money taken I was displayed a technical difficulty and never able to proceed 'contract generating' continuously. Overall a very painful experience.

You had one job...

In their replies to other reviews, Divido likes to make it very clear that they are not the lender and merely facilitate the agreement with a lender via their IT solution.

You would think, then, that only having this one job, they might actually be able to provide an IT solution that works. So far, I have had a blank white screen, a gateway error, and finally, when I eventually managed to get through to the agreement, I tick the box to sign it, and the page just hangs for a minute and then asks me to sign the same agreement again. Oh, and if you call Divido to try to sort this out, you get two options on their automated helpline - one is for merchants (not customers), and the other option tells you to call the lender. There is no option to help customers who are stuck with Divido's broken IT infrastructure.

I finally got the application to go through, but only by ticking the box accepting all marketing communication from Divido. I guess I'll now have to try and cancel all the marketing communication separately...

Hi George,

Divido is not a lender. As such Divido can not turn anyone down for a loan. You were turned down by a lender. All lenders use several different data sources to decide to give you credit or not. In your case, Experian was clearly not one of those sources.

If you feel you have not been treated fairly, you might wish to contact the actual lender to resolve this. If you don't know who the lender was, the retailer can tell you.

Divido taken money from account

Divido state they do not take money from accounts yet mine has their name next to a deduction only to find out my application was refused, I have spoken the merchant and they gave me a number of the lender but they have no record of this. Yet money has been taken from account. This was a well known laptop / computer company offering divido services for finance.

Hi Rob,

You're right, Divido doesn't take money from anyone's account so let us look into this from our end.

It might be that the retailer has taken a deposit, and used Divido as a reference without us knowing. In which case only they can arrange a refund.

Meanwhile, you should also let your card/bank know because you can also have been a victim of fraud.

Zero points for Divido.

In my opinion, avoid Divido! I retired with good pensions, a healthy investment portfolio and an excellent credit rating. Mortgage fully paid off. Property in Greater London. Living well!

Had originally planned to make a one off payment for a shower up-grade but interest free monthly repayments option appealed to me - a thrifty Scot. Bugger me, the application was refused!

Cutting off my nose to spite my face but kicking the shower up-grade into touch. Zero points for Divido.

Since writing the above, I have been advised that Divido are responsible for the application software and not the loan from the actual “lender”. Unfortunately, I have no idea who “the lender” is, so I cannot progress the matter further.

Hi James,

Your application for credit was declined by a lender, not Divido. If you want to know who the lender was, ask the retailer and they will be happy to help you.

We are just the software provider that was asked by the lender to deliver the bad news to you.

We are just the messenger, and you know what they say about the messenger...

Hi Martin,

Divido is not a lender, we neither approve or decline applications. Your application got rejected by a lender connected to our platform.

If you think that lender is wrong, please do contact them directly as only they will be able to help you. If you do not know who the lender was, please ask the retailer and they will tell you.

You mention your credit score, most people don't know this - but you don't have one credit score - you have 3! There are 3 different credit rating bureaus in the UK and lenders can use any of those three or even a combination. You can have a good credit score with one bureau and a bad score with another.

Hi Stephen,

We are sorry to hear you got declined credit, we understand that can both be surprising and disappointing. That said, we would like to give you some more information which you might find helpful.

1) You have been declined credit by a lender. Divido is not a lender. We are a software used by retailers and lenders to process their applications. They don't tell us why they decline an application. If you want to know why a lender declined your application, you should contact that lender. If you do not know who the lender is, ask the retailer and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.

2) Divido does not assess your credit, that is done by the lender (see above). There are three different credit rating agencies in the UK (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion). It sounds like you only checked your rating at two of them. Moneysupermarket.com is not a rating agency, they just use the rating provided by one of these three, most likely Experian (which also explains why the number is exactly the same). In addition, the lender you applied for credit with might hold other proprietary data about you which they might use to inform their decisions. Again, if you speak to the lender, they can help. Based on what you have said so far, it sounds like TransUnion might the source of your problems.

If you are concerned about this application leaving a negative mark, do review your credit history with each of the credit rating bureaus. If you can not see any references to this transaction, the application did not leave a mark on your credit history.

If you do see a negative mark, and think it is unfair, you can ask to have it removed through the credit rating bureau, either online, by mail or over the phone. You have 60 days to request a free copy of the credit report used in the decision, to see if there are any errors on your credit file that can be disputed. Credit bureaus have 30 days to investigate and respond to your credit report dispute, or 45 days if you send additional proof during the investigation period.

3) As a software company for retailers and lenders, we support them, we do not provide support to their customers (e.g. you). That is why you couldn't find our contact details. You have to speak to the retailer or lender.

Regards,
Team Divido

I recently applied for finance for a ring and it was approved within 5 minutes. The application is straightforward and user friendly, its also very clear who your lender is and you are connected with them straight away. There are a few comments about being rejected credit but that isn't divido that's the lenders decision so slightly unfair to mark them down for that. I would use them again and think they offer customers a great way to finance as they have a panel of lenders so if doesnt approve it will be passed around until it is only resulting in 1 credit search which I personally think is great

absolute scammers of the worst kind!

absolute scammers of the worst kind!! avoid like the plague, retailers and customers alike.

November 2019 the finance provider cancelled our agreement as I was offering 0% finance for my customers.

divido still took money out the bank in Dec, despite my business not having any finance to offer, E mailed and explained, accounts dept told me they would cancel any payments.

january, febuary and march 2020 they still took payments out my account, each month they told me it was a mistake and would make sure no further payments come out my account... guess what I had to get the FCA involved!!

then the payments stopped.

worse still Febuary 2021 I get an e mail with 3 invoices attached... like are these guys for real!!!??

then they are asking me for previous correspondence!?

called them scammers, explained everything.... guess what bring the FCA in to it with the case reference then they leave it...

shame on you, sham outfit, absolute worst of the worst scammers!!

Hi GAD Tuning North,

We are really sorry to hear about the stress and inconvenience this billing issue has caused you. We completely understand why this must have felt very frustrating for you. We sincerely apologise for this human error.

As soon as you brought this to our attention, last week, we put this right by cancelling the incorrect invoices right away. In addition, we have also reviewed our process to prevent it from happening again.

For the sake of clarity, Divido does not take money from anyone's account. To pay us, our clients instruct their bank (most often by setting up a Direct Debit mandate) to transfer money from their bank account to Divido, automatically, every month. As such, all our clients always have the option to contact their bank and tell them to stop transferring money to Divido, e.g by cancelling the Direct Debit - which will take effect immediately.

Hi Daniel,

We are sorry to hear that you had a technical issue on your end during your check-out. From time to time the retailer, lender and other third party websites required to complete your application slows down or even freeze just as you describe. You might also want to check that your computer software is up to date and that you have a stable internet connection. All of these issues are of course outside of our control.

On our end we can confirm that we have had 99.99% uptime the past 12+ months. A typical application process takes less than 60 seconds. Given the volume of transactions our platform handles every minute, the issue you described is extremely rare. In the future, if you are experiencing an issue, reach out the retailer directly and they will be happy to help you.

Christmas gaming PC

I went to order a gaming pc with total check out cost of £650 after discount. I was offered the opportunity to check out with credit and spread the cost over 6 months as it advertised 0%. My experian score is 999 and I've never missed a payment. I completed the application and page constantly refreshing and kicking me out took over 30 minutes to enter details. I know this company is not the lender but their software is terrible which I am convinced cause the errors and then the decline. Now I have a decline marker on my credit file. I would strongly recommend NOT to use this company!

Terrible. Wish I had looked at some of these reviews before applying. My credit is in excellent condition always checking on Experian and equifex are at the highest level possible. A £61 pcm for 9 months isn’t much but still got declined. Wish I had just put it on the credit card (11k limit) instead. Also have never been declined for credit in the last 8 yrs so because of this my credit score has been dented. Regardless of your reply like you do for others it will be no help at all.
