Horrible customer service and shady business practices

I only gave them one star because zero was not an option. Customer service is a joke, worst I have ever dealt with. I financed solar panels with this company in 2023. I put my home on the market in March 2024, it went under contract in early April 2024. On April 22, 2024, a lein was put on my home by this company without any notice to me, this is a shady business practice. So now, we are 2 days away from closing on this house and I cannot even get a person on the phone who can help me get the transfer process started so we can close on schedule. I am taking the solar panels with me, but they have to "approve" it, which they say will take up to 5 business days to process, but first I need to send an email and wait for someone to send me the form I need to fill out, which could take 48 hours alone to get the form. This company has no sense of ethical business practices or customer service, from my experience. Never missed or been late on a payment, but it doesnt matter because they dont care about their customers.

Do not do business with them

Do not do business with them. We got solar panels through ReNu in PA (another issue). An interaction with Dividend has been underwhelming. Due to economy, I wanted to remove an additional payment amount. I had added to pay off early to get away from this company. You cannot change the dollar amount of an autopay. I had to set up a new autopay. When I reached out to make sure not a double payment. The response was look up your statement here.

BEWARE - DIVIDEND FINANCE AKA DIVIDEND SOLAR - SPACEWATER

BEWARE! SpaceWater Systems is working with Dividend Finance and scamming elderly people in Second Ward neighborhood. Our father who was 84 years old at the time and lived on Sherman street was preyed upon by 2 representatives (females) back on August 18, 2022. They represented SpaceWater Systems and told him they were giving away FREE water filtration systems. They fraudulently completed a Dividend Finance financial agreement without his consent, lied on the application stating his yearly income was $65,000 per year and forged his name on the financial agreement. First of all, my father has not worked for approximately 30 years and was living off his miniscule social security check. Secondly, he did not know how to speak, read or write English. Third of all, he barely even knew how to work his cell phone, much less handle an electronic tablet to sign anything. SpaceWater Systems and Dividend Finance are working together to defraud the elderly and are filing liens against their homes. You don't have be a rocket scientist to figure out that an elder person sitting on their front porch that is all run down is probably not working. But they know that when they eventually die, their heirs will not be able to sell the home without paying off the lien. There is already a few Yelp reviews on this company where the victims share similar stories. Some neighbors who live in Second Ward have already come forward and said they were also victimized by SpaceWater Systems and Dividend Finance using the same story that they would get a FREE water filtration system. The victims also compared the financial agreements and they show the same exact yearly income of $65,000. None of these people have worked for years and they don’t speak, write, or read English. I find it interesting that they can immediately find out their credit score, but they fail to perform their due diligence to confirm that the yearly salary on the financial agreements is true. It is a total set-up to scam the elderly. Unfortunately, the people victimized don’t realize they have been preyed upon until they get the invoice in the mail. Out of fear, some of them make payments because they think they are going to lose their homes. If you know anyone who has had the same experience with these 2 companies, please reach out to me. We have to stop them from preying on our elderly parents. Our elderly parents should be enjoying their golden years. They should not be worried about paying off a debt they were defrauded into. I have reported them to all the places the National Elder Fraud website has listed, but if anyone knows where else I can report these companies and what else I can do to bring attention to this matter, please let me know. I would also appreciate it if you could share this story in hopes that other victims can come forward. LET'S PROTECT OUR FAMILIES THAT HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO PAY OFF THEIR HOMES FROM THESE CRIMINALS! CALL LILIANA VASQUEZ AT TELEMUNDO AS SHE IS INVESTIGATING THIS STORY!
Thank you.

Do not finance with this company.

Do not finance with this company if getting a shower installation through Westshore Homes! So I decided to take advantage of the 0% promo to get a shower installation completed. While Westshore did make good on their word when I came across an issue, Dividend did not. I was without a shower for over two months and asked for an extension and they would not honor it even though Westshore determined the materials were faulty. I ended up a paying off the promotion but they would offer no compensation, rude customer service and just overall do not care about their customers!

Solar finance company Dividend

Don’t buy solar unless you are in your forever home. You will not be able to sell your home unless you have cash money to pay off the solar loan. Dividend denied a buyer of my property. They were FHA approved to by my home. The buyer was more qualified than I was when I bought the solar panels.
The buyer had 725 credit rating, he had only 2k in debt and makes 165k annually. Dividend told us they could except a 700 credit rating if the buyer had a good debt to income ratio. They lied. And denied my buyers to Assume the loan even after I paid 10k to buy down the buyers cost that I owed on the loan.

predatory lending

we hired Vision Solar in November 2022 the salesperson told us this was part of a Florida initiative to get Floridians to go green and there would be tax credits and incentives. the sales guy called Dividend while in our home to check my Husbands credit and to see if we PRE-QUALIFIED for panels. his credit was declined by Dividend Finance, even though he is the main income for our household and has good credit and a good permanent job.

they then suggested checking my credit and then said I cleared. I was at the time and still am a stay-at-home mother with no income of my own. however, they said it would be best for me to be solely listed. We were not aware we signed a LOAN CONTRACT. and once I found out I contacted Dividend to let them know we had been misled. They didn't care.
after receiving an email from Dividend finance in January saying our installation was Complete. I called them to let them know my concerns and that our project was NOT Complete, and the panels were NOT operational. They explained away my concerns and told me I did not have to pay anything yet as they were accepting loan payments from VS on my behalf while my panels are not operational.
I never gave consent for them to do this.
We were deceived into this loan contract.
They have never shown me a Loan Agreement, only a Guidebook. Despite me asking them numerous times for a copy of my complete file, loan Agreement, my requests to Dividend and Fifth Third Bank continue to go unanswered.
The Panels have never been operational and I have never had access to Portals to my account with Vision Solar or Dividend. I also have an Email from April 3rd 2023 showing that I requested that information and help to log into my account and they never responded.

Dividend has also placed a Lien on my Property for the cost of the panels without notifying me. Under Florida law "when filing a UCC financing statement that has been recorded, a copy must be sent via registered mail (return receipt requested) to properly notify the owner." Apparently these steps were not followed. Dividend MUST, at minimum, release the loans and release the liens.
Then there are solar panels to be removed, roof to be repaired/replaced and mold to be remediated along with other damages.
Shame on Dividend for taking advantage of an "easy loan" and for not doing their due diligence before making advance payments to their installer(Vision Solar). VS has been criminal since DAY ONE. The writing was all over the walls with complaints, installation issues, illegal installments, failed inspections, constant milestone changes, breaching contracts.

The loan contracts are FRAUD from its FORMATION. Their "arbitration clause" means NOTHING.
this is now up to DIVIDEND on how they would like to move forward and fix this problem with the victims.

It is THEIR choice to choose to be part of the problem or fix it immediately.
Legal Action is taking place and they will be sorry.

Their online portal is absolute trash…

Their online portal is absolute trash and getting customer service is a waste time. You can’t even cancel or change auto payments from the portal, you have to call in and everyone you talk to will give you a different answer. I was advised to cancel my old auto payment by telling my bank to reject it, which I had to pay $30 to do. Now each month, even though I have a new auto payment setup, dividend charges me $20 because on their end they are still trying to charge the old plus the new auto payment. I have been told they can’t cancel the auto payment in their end. For a finance company offering loans this is completely unacceptable.

Can’t even create an account to pay my bill

I’m just trying to figure out how to go on. I have to have different passwords/accounts for the same loan for different parts of the website? Why? I can’t get the website to send me a confirmation text or password reset email. I haven’t even started much with this company and I’m already extremely frustrated

Dividend Finance is engaging in…

Dividend Finance is engaging in creative math. I have sent 2 large extra payments and have asked for my extra payment to be applied toward the principle balance. If I send an extra $100.00 in my monthly payment, it goes all toward interest balance. They constantly refuse to apply any extra money toward principle balance. Dividend Finance needs to be investigated.

Shenanigans

TundraLand used this company as their finance company when I put a new $40,000 deck on my home. The rate was in the market, and I specifically asked if there was a penalty for pre-payment, and told there is not. I doubled up my payment, and specifically called them to apply the additional payment directly toward principle. After a few extra payments of them still taking almost 1/4 out for interest, I contacted them again. This time an e-mail said, "In order for any extra payment to go into principle, it has to be applied to your account the same day as your monthly bill."

DO NOT LEND WITH THIS COMPANY

This is the worst company I have ever had the opportunity to deal with. Their loan assumptions are an absolute mess. Their Customer service and loan assumption officers don't have direct lines. No one is allowed to share information with you about the assumption, you basically get the run around every single time you call. It's unbearable. Do not get a loan with this company.

They failed to qualify a buyer for a $55/month payment, who is at a 35% DTI on a 700K home purchase and has millions in assets. They are incredibly frustrating.

Where do I start

Where do I start, you can't get a customer service rep on the phone, their app doesn't work, their website doesn't work, forget your password?? Reset links don't work (no emails sent ever) trying to import my account to the new app, doesn't work, and not 1 person there understands what the problem is. Every app in existence saves your password, every site except theirs and then you have to call in to reset it takes hours to check your account balance. Beyond frustrating.

FRAUDULENT COMPANY

FRAUDULENT COMPANY DO NOT DO BUSINESS!!! THEY RUIN YOUR GOOD CREDIT!!!! Horrible customer service, they do not listen to you as customers. Do not recommend. Didn't realize when I would START GETTING CHARGED FOR THE FIRST time, BECAUSE THEY JUST START CHARGING WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE...NO EMAIL TO LET YOU KNOW, NOTHING...so, I flagged their first and second charges as unauthorized, since to be honest, it took forever to get the solar panels to get installed, so from solar panels that's one company that you deal with in the beginning, you forget who finances your solar panels at the end, that when finally I started getting charged I didn't realize who the company was, honest mistake, tried explaining this to the company, wouldn't listen to me at all. And then they have the audacity to say they tried calling me which is absolutely not true because I would have answered, but then they say a man answered... What? So now I'm a man?! But what's weird it's that they not only lie to you about trying to contacting you, when I contacted them and the automated service asks you to press your number to find your account I pressed my phone number and the automated service couldn't find any account number associated with my phone number, so how is it that they tried calling me to try to resolve my payment issue?! So in many things they had discrepancies.

I have tried multiple times to get help…

I have tried multiple times to get help and every person I talk to on the phone has a different answer. I was approved by 3 other solar companies with almost 700 credit score and for some reason this company denied me with really no reason. At first I thought it was because the deed was not in my name yet since I just bought my house. I was told that was one of the reasons so I gave them the documents needed to show the deed is in my name and now I’m still getting denied even though I was approved from 3 other companies. It would be real nice if this company could be consistent. I am now waiting on “ a letter in the mail” save your time and go somewhere else

This is the absolute WORST company to…

This is the absolute WORST company to borrow money from!!

I had a bathroom remodel. The construction said we could do financing. Ok, cool. They run us through a couple loan companies to see who we would qualify for. Dividend ended up being the one. The construction company explained my monthly payments and we agreed okay cool. A few months to a year later, I call Dividend to see how much I have left to pay. I know it's alot, but trying to keep finances in order.... the amount they tell me is OVER my original total. What the heck?!?! Makes no sense. I have been paying monthly payments ever since I needed to start paying them. They tell me it's the interest, but doesn't go into detail. I get furious because there is no way that is legit. I hang up and just stop thinking about it. I leave it alone for about a year. I still make my monthly payments. About a year later, I just get off the phone with them. My total is STILL HIGHER than my total amount. I asked what the hell? I am furious again. What company hijacks their prices when you are making monthly payments on them? Dividend then tells me that there is 4% interest accrusing DAILY!! DO WHAT NOW? Nobody said this!! She proceeds to tell me this is what I signed up for. UM NO. Not one person from the financial institution reached out to me to explain this crap. I talked with the construction company, who has no authority to explain the finances. I would never have signed with a company who fraudently takes advantage of situations causing you to pay more than you should be paying. There is no company that I have ever signed with that causes your total to increase if you make monthly payments.

I hope the IRS gets involved with them and shuts them down. They deserve to go out of business.
