ZERO customer support

As with the record clubs of yore (if you have lived that long) they are hoping you’ll forget to decline the monthly option and you’ll get charged for many things you didn’t want.

Movie prices aren’t really that great of deal when you can usually beat them at Amazon. HOWEVER, you are probably saving money during the first 5 purchases because of the FREE movies you got when signing up. (Up to this point 4 stars)

If everything goes smoothly on their site, you are in good shape. When it doesn’t you receive ZERO customer support. As stated below, even when prompted to call their 800 number all you get is a menu of worthless options that you could already do online.

The live chat feature is possibly a person using a limited checklist of answers, or just an AI, using a limited checklist of answers. If the answer does not solve your problem, they/it just repeat the entire dialog all over again.

Apparently, Disney believes having customers wasting time trying to find their own answers to solve Disney’s website problems counts as customer service. Which by definition is the complete OPPOSITE of customer service. (Bringing it down to 2 stars)

I’ll be entering VIP status this month, which is Disney’s way of saying that my commitment has been reached. I probably won’t stay a member simply because there is no way to contact a person for customer support when something goes wrong.

Don't sign up

Whatever you think you'll be able to save, the aggravation that follows is not worth it. They will get their money back by sending and charging you for stuff you don't want.

Horrible hate this site it's such a drag and scam they give you a membership which doesn't apply to your regular selections of purchases of items to cancel your account so they scam you into buying a full price item, you cannot cancel until you pay full price for 5 DVDs and they give you the run around when you try to cancel and charge your card every month if you dont decline the feature title" which isn't part of the regular price selection of movies. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Went to sign up but got a ball dropped

Went to sign up but got a ball dropped. the customer service said my sister already had a membership in the household (and there was only one that was allowed in each household to have a membership). That even includes when family refers to family living in same household. So basically until sister cancels, I can’t get one. What kind of rule is that ? Oh well no love lost! Should’ve read complaints and that’s my fault . Just thought I would give a try since I buy Disney movies all the time Disney Movie Club. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Watch out!

If you read the materials carefully you get what you are promised. After completing my commitment and reaching VIP status I tried to call to simply stop the ridiculous "selection of the month" where they ship and bill what they want to send if you don't respond. Toll free numbers only had menu selections and I couldn't break the code on how to talk to a live person. I sent emails asking them to call but they didn't.

My experience was that they do provide mail, internet, and phone options for declining the selection of the month. I have two occasions where selection of the month didn't come in the mail so I just logged in every 3 weeks just to stay on top of "decline selection." You will perpetually have to stay on top of this.

Long story short, they won't stop the "selection of the month" after you fulfill purchase commitment. In my case they abruptly cancelled my VIP Membership just because I asked for the "selection of the month" to stop so I have lost discounted ordering privileges.

I think a lot of sales are generated by shipping out product not ordered which is why; a) the selection of the month is shifted where they aren't on a regular monthly date and b) you can't stop the selection of the month and the friendly DMC goes very unfriendly if you approach this topic.
