Useless as fu#k
Useless as fu#k. They promise everything, take your money, then keep asking for more. My phone never got unlocked. Don't fall for this bullshit.

They're criminals
They're criminals. First they give you $25, you pay the $25, and then to continue the unlock they ask for $54, but they don't tell you that you have to keep paying more money. I didn't continue.

Cricket phones are firmware HARDLOCKED even in recovery mode. Do not waste money on this. Six month mandatory Cricket service period before unlocking.
In retrospect and upon further research ( also seeing how many others had this experience,) I have concluded that my negative experience is partially from using Direct Unlocks when there was no positive outcome. Most of it can be placed upon the Cricket phone company for hardlocking its phones via onboard firmware based app and disabling developer mode and demanding increasing "ransom" payments to unlock it. As it is I do find Direct Unlocks less than forthright with its customers about the payment process which is incremental but not stated up front that there would be incremental charges as the unlocking process proceeded and these charges were not *really* refundable but only offered as a store credit incentive to continue when the customer decides to stop paying for a service they are not getting. A friend gave me a NEVER USED 2025 G Motorola phone to replace my dying motorola phone. The new phone was hardlocked by Cricket and pretty much rendered a brick. My payments began at $25 then a "final" payment of $55 was requested which was followed the next day by request for $199 to download some kind of unlocking software. I had completely lost confidence that this process was going to do anything less than bleed me of more money and ultimately lock me into a six month minimum service commitment to Cricket before the phone could be unlocked so I accepted the loss of my $80 and Il Caveat Emptor for those who follow. No refund only a store credit towards dumping more money into a dubious transaction. HUGE NEGATIVE review of Cricket for being so greedy and avaricious though other carrier will doubtless take up this practice, and loss of trust with Direct Unlocks for NOT EVER mentioning that incremental payments with continuing unlocking denials were a significant possibility. I could have bought a comparable unlocked Motorola for $250 or so. As it is I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and the the Moto 2025 G has been factory reset and sits in my desk awaiting a time when I can defeat this insidious hardlock app From Cricket. Direct Unlocks should NEVER accept payment from a customer to unlock a Cricket phone and should CEASE advertising Cricket unlocks as a viable service. Unfortunately we no longer have a Consumer Protection Bureau so Cricket can do this with impunity.

it's a lie don't try to do anything with them they are scammers don't trust them on their site they say something in reality it's not like that they took £133 from me and guaranteed to unlock my phone and they didn't do it I asked for my money back and they didn't give me anything I've been waiting for 2 weeks

Still waiting for promised refund
I paid the 2 payments required. The initial payment I accepted was non-refundable. This was in April. We waited weeks and finally got to 99% immenent for unlocking . Kept being assured unlocking was immenent. Finally, after no further movement I requested a refund of the 2nd payment (we had met the criteria for a refund). We were told a refund was being processed and could take up to 14 days. We waited. We were told after the 14 days to wait another 14 days. We did and it is now July. My only conclusion is that we have been scammed.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST
THE ABSOLUTE WORST! I want a refund to my card or I’m disputing with my bank! I’m also an attorney so we can take that route also. I’ve been sitting at 99% for a long time and now no one is responding to me.
Update:
They have replied to my post with the same message they have sent me before, I have been waiting over a week since they last replied to me on the website so I’ve definitely been waiting at 99% for the longest time and I’m still waiting on my refund so where is my refund because I paid for the premium to make sure it was going to be unlocked which you guys told me it would be so I want my money back

Direct Unlocks is a scam company
This is a scam company.
Said they could Unlock quickly, for £15.
Replied that it was 'hard' locked and they'd have to ask O2 - cost £41.
Month later - still not possible - now asking for £54 which they say is 'negotiated with O2'

The process was so very simple and due to the complicated nature from my old network it took just under an hour. Thank you so much! 😃
Bait-and-Switch Scam
They charge you money ($7) for a "Network Check" and then immediately ask for more money ($25) to actually get the unlock code.
It's a classic bait-and-switch scam.
And then on top of that, they spam you with emails to get you to keep paying.

There the best easy and straight forward . There fast and it's so easy AT&T denied the unlock of networks they did it in minutes
Deceptive advertising
Deceptive advertising, unlock your phone for 22 euro and then checks are made as you are thinking the unlocking process is taking place. Once this is complete you get another bill for over 52 euro more for the unlock code, so over 74 euro to unlock and the phone is only worth 100 euro.
Update after reply, Yes your business model is show more fake reviews from bots and fake accounts etc. with no real profile or real reviews and make sure that outweighs the thousands of 1 star reviews from real accounts. Good job keep ripping people off using the loophole so it looks like you have relatively good reviews. Why not show the average review count at the bottom of your payment page instead of all the 5 star reviews you paid for? SCAMMERS!
