I have had a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE with Dimov Tax and do not recommend. Stay away from this place as they are truly the definition of unprofessional, take 1-4 weeks to reply to emails, have the worst phone service and can't get ahold of anyone, have many people on emails who you don't even know, and do not do quality work and can't even meet with anyone on the team to talk to them about your questions. Stay away and I wish I would have known sooner. This place won't be in business too long the way they are doing business.

UPDATE 8/20/26: I asked them to refund me for the service that they were unable to deliver and they responded, " In exchange for us granting this full refund of $200, we ask that you agree to remove the negative online review.

Please let me know if you are agreeable to this mutual resolution. Once you confirm and the review is removed, we will immediately process the full credit back to you and send you the confirmation, so we can close your file amicably."

I believe this is unethical and not appropriate to ask me to remove my honest review. I believe other people should know as I have would have liked to know. I will be reporting this business to BBB and Google so they are aware of their behaviors. I have attached the email for reference. I hope this helps others. Stay away from this business!! RUN!!

We've worked with Dimov Tax on both consulting and filing, and we've been very pleased. Our first consultation with Doni was the standout — he was quick, sharp, and clearly knew his stuff. What stuck with us was how genuinely passionate he seemed about actually helping us, not just processing paperwork. My wife left that call wanting to work only with him.

One year prior, we'd tried a big commercial preparer who missed a significant credit we were entitled to. Doni caught it and fixed it. That alone more than paid for the engagement, and it's the kind of thing you only get from someone who actually knows the code and cares enough to look.

The rest of the team has been professional and thorough too — clear communication, steady follow-through, and no dropped balls.

Highly recommend Dimov Tax for anyone who wants a firm that's both technically strong and genuinely invested in the outcome.

I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with the team at Dimov! I sold a large amount of stock options in 2024 that made for a complicated tax filing. My family accountant didn’t know how to handle it and completely misfiled my taxes. I ended up overpaying by ~$80K due to some relatively simple mistakes. I reached out to Dimov’s team because they came up in my search for accountants with ISO tax experience.

While I got incredibly busy and was not able to fulfill my end of the project, they remained professionally persistent and followed up with me to help me see the large return I was owed. Once I got them the info they needed, we were off to the races and got the amended file completed within DAYS.

I was so incredibly impressed with their efficiency and am just so grateful that they didn’t let me leave this project unfinished. This is hugely meaningful for my finances and life. I will be using them for my future taxes for the foreseeable future and recommending my friends and family to them!

I do not write reviews ever, however, I felt the need to warn people about this service. I spent a lot of money with them to handle my Canadian and American tax returns. They completed my American tax return on time but I owed a ton of money and they had to ask their senior analyst about basic questions I asked.My Canadian tax return was completed several months past the April 30th deadline. Whenever I asked about the status they would say that they didnt expect me to owe anything and that it would be completed soon. In fairness to them I did not owe anything, but the lack of professionalism, accountability and transparency was frankly alarming. I would never use this service to handle my taxes again and would steer anyone away from them. I hope this helps.

Great, very responsive, and they know tax law well.

We have used their service 3 times now. Although it took a few months and a few follow-ups for us to get our tax return files, overall, their service quality is good. Every time they were able to file things correctly and find refund opportunities very well. The price is also reasonable.

I hired someone to do my taxes for the first time so I could have a peace of mind and let a professional handle the stress of filing taxes for me. I hired them to file my personal income taxes which included K-1s and a PFIC. I ended up being extremely disappointed for a few reasons.

1) They gave me wrong advice which resulted in a financial loss to me. I had to pay interest as a result of taking the wrong action under their advice.
2) After I notified them of the interest charge, they said "We will for sure abate the penalty and interest."
3) I had to call the IRS at 7am to figure some things out myself.
4) The interest charge did not end up being fully abated.
5) Communication is extremely slow. I emailed them about a letter I received from the IRS on June 2, and they only answered my question on June 26 at 8pm. The deadline to reply to the IRS letter was on June 26.

If you are considering hiring them, please think about my experience.

Dimov Tax Specialists have delt with my tax returns for the last five years. They offer an exceptional service at a reasonable rate. A truly 5 star service !

I'm giving 2 stars to Dimov because:
- They are taking weeks to respond to my emails, even following several follow-ups.
- They mixed up and sent me a draft that is not my tax return at all. I guess they mix up with their clients.
- It took 2 months for a simple tax return.
I would not recommend them.

We sent 4 trust accounts and 1 foundation account to Dimov Tax early this year to prepare tax returns for 2025. First, we were misquoted total fees to prepare tax returns. Every representative we contracted said something different. As agreed, we submitted 1/2 the total fees to Dimov, until they completed the returns. I have been hounded via emails and phone call demanding full payment for preparation of the tax returns, before they have been completed. Full pre-payment was not ever in the agreement.
I asked many times both verbally & in writing for copies of the extension returns especially for the trusts. They promised to send but they never did. Finally in early June, I received an IRS letter saying that Dimov Tax failed to file an extension for one of the trusts. The letter also stated that the tax return should be filed immediately. I contacted a customer service manager in New York 2 weeks ago, sent a copy of the IRS letter, but still have not heard back. I have to say that Dimov Tax 'Specialists' are unreliable, misleading & should be avoided at all costs. They have not done what they say they would do & I am concerned that they will not file the tax returns at all for 2025. I wish I had never done business with them.

I have been using Dimov for many years, and have always been more than satisfied with their work. I think they are an exemplary Wesfirm, and can handle broad range of clients and their needs with kindness and professionalism. Their communication is excellent, as is their work. They are also conveniently set up so that the entire process can be handled remotely through electronic communication. They also offer in-person consultations in an expanding number of cities. They have specialists, experts and accountants available to you, and they keep you apprised of any tax news or changes or suggestions that may be helpful to you throughout the year. I consider them top-tier, and they work hard to make the entire process as efficient and painless as possible. I appreciate everyone I have dealt with at the firm. I have great confidence in filing my returns with George Dimov CPA, and his wonderful and diverse staff. Most highly recommended.

I’ve been working with the firm for a few years. For me, it’s always simple, pay, answer a dozens of questions, provide necessary documents, and wait. That’s it! The entire process is straightforward, and no surprises.

So I, too, recently had a terrible experience with them, and I would say you should absolutely avoid them at all costs.

They were extremely responsive until I paid their fee, and then for weeks, I was completely ghosted with no updates, no responses via email, nothing. I was referred by some friends who use them and have been happy with them, but given that its clearly a federated work force, there's no consistency of experience or management- which means you can't really have consistent outcomes.

So, my situation is that I, like many people, started a business during the pandemic while we were all trapped at home, and then I, like many people, did nothing with it. I didn't set up any accounts, I didn't have any customers, I didn't do a single thing that could be attributed to that business. I didn't know you needed to officially let the california SOS know that you were no longer operating (as I didn't really understand the mechanics with the government on a business) and I foolishly figured - well, if I'm not doing anything, they'll probably just write me off.

Well now, in 2026, I got a notice from California saying I need to file my tax return for 2021, even if I made no money, and pay the business tax. (That's fine, shame on me for not educating myself). So I go to try to fill it out and submit the form, but sadly in California, forms must be filed electronically, and you can only do it yourself after the first year (since they use your tax form for you to set up your FTB account). Okay, fine, I had already filled everything out, I just needed to find a firm to submit the form (which i was mostly all 0's btw). I was referred to Dimov Tax.

I've been completely ignored for 3 weeks after I paid. Finally I asked my friends who referred me to them to ask their person to reach out to my people and nudge them to do something. All of a sudden, I got 2 apology emails (that were just excuses) saying they were almost done with a draft and they needed a little more information from me. I provided the information immediately, and again, no responses for 3 days.

Well, that was enough. I used google, found a local tax preparer, and she said she'd be able to file within 3 days, as this was a common occurance and pretty straight forward. She only charged me $100 instead of $360 like Dimov, since it was such a straight forward process.

I've asked Dimov for a refund, and again, they're stalling / not responding. I decided to just dispute the charge with my credit card company. I have a full email trail of me asking for updates all the way through and them not providing any useful updates, nor any indication of work. Absolute waste of my time.

It's been very stressful, and as others here have noted- you're going to end up paying more in order to get things done. They are not there to help you or care about you, or even bother doing the minimum. Find someone who you can talk to in person and directly hold accountable, don't engage with this black box.

I’ve used this company for years and never had an issue. The process is smooth and responses are punchy and helpful.

I had a great experience working with Dimov Tax and their team. I submitted my documents fairly late (about two weeks before the deadline), and they handled everything smoothly by filing an extension and taking the time to complete my taxes thoroughly.
The process took about six weeks, and while I felt a bit uncertain about the timing at times, the final result exceeded my expectations. I truly appreciate the quality of their work and attention to detail.
One small suggestion would be to improve communication around timelines, just to help set expectations along the way.
Overall, I’m very happy and would definitely recommend them. I look forward to working together again—and I’ll be sending my documents earlier next year!
