I have worked overseas for 45 years. I have seen global delivery providers. DHL the organisation, customer service and SOFTWARE (apps, website accounts, plugins, integrations and API's) are all broken. Some companies are recoverable... but only when they realise they are at rock bottom. My advice if you are developer; refuse to use their software. If you are a business; refuse to be their client. If you are an individual; find an alternative to DHL to deliver for you.
Appalling customer service
I would give zero star if I could. DHL purposely charge when you call to enquire. The service given was appalling, the staff do not know how to handle queries. I need the transport documentation for my parccel and after 5 phone calls or even more, then only I was given an email address to email my request to?! Why was I not given this email address on the first call? It wasted the money I have been charged to call and receive incorrect information and advice, and my time! DO NOT USE DHL. This company should be closed down.

The most unreliable delivery company. I would never use them if I had to pick one.
Was supposed to receive a parcel from them and they just delayed the delivery because they couldn't find the address. No call, no contact, nothing.

Terrible company. Charges a ridiculous high fee to process a small VAT charge on an overseas delivery. Fee was nearly equal to a full day's minimum salary.

Trusting a European logistics company, I paid DHL Express 23 USD for the shipping of my books and now I have to pay additionally 37 € as customs fee: 17,90 € for DHL Express (again) and the rest to Spanish customs.
During the order process the customs fee was not mentioned at all.
After asking DHL Express they say: 'DHL cobra unos gastos mínimos a particulares de 17.90Eur + IVA por el trámite aduanero, este gastos se escalan en función del valor de la mercancía'.
Therefore I paid 60 € for shipping + customs fee being 70 USD the books charge. This is unbelievable.
Disappointed
Oh My goodness! Well l paid nearly 200 USD for a package to be shipped from USA to UK, I then received a bill of 71 to pay for taxes and duty before leaving the USA, it was scheduled to be delivered today October 12, and I find out it was sent back to the shipping Address and never left the USA! And absolutely no one can help, or explain why it was sent back even after all fees were paid !!
DHL - a new form of scam?
I make an order and everything seems to be perfect till it came in Netherland to be delivered by DHL. They sent me an email that it will be sent on 7 October. The second email show that my parcel is delivered. When I came home I saw an empty DHL card so I knock at all my neighbors, but nobody received nothing. So the same story I heard also from other people whose delivery company was DHL. Is DHL drivers just took this parcel for themselves? Is the new form of scam?

Total Incompetence. Not Fit for Purpose. Constant excuses from Customer Services. "Its in Customs" being their favourite. They keep saying we're going to escalate the case only to say months later the package has been returned to sender. If that's the case they can't even do that right. The Package is Never seen again
DHL worst company for international deliveries
I ordered some clothes from yours global unfortunately they chose DHL as the courier.
All import and duties had been paid and all the paperwork had been completed.
I received an email from DHL advising I needed to pay import fees for them to clear my parcel through customs, they also requested a signed avadavid and a power of attorney. They requested a copy of my passport, date of birth, place of birth proof of payment (screenshot of the transaction) and a code to confirm what was in the parcel - despite then having clear paperwork to reflect this.
They initially stated if I did not supply this within 5 days they would return to the sender, the most recent email as we are nearing the 5 days states I have to pay 25 Ron a day storage and if I fail to do this I will face a fine of up to 1500 Ron.
This seems to me to either be a scam to get money out of me (they provide details of how to pay online) and also the information requested would give then enough to create identity theft. Total harassment from them my advice avoid at all costs if you can I had no option as the clothing company chose DHL.

I am going to call up one of the DHL representatives and very politely ask them something, then when they have finished answering, ask them the exact same thing again... and then ask them again, and again, and again, and again and then again.
Yes, I am going to repeatedly ask the exact same question seven times, just to see how long it takes for them to break down and start crying.
Why?
That's how many times this bunch of work-shy losers have harassed me, in ONE afternoon, for ONE delivery, by asking if I *don't* want my parcel to be delivered to my home address as I have paid for.
Whining and moaning about doing their job, these people really do not seem to want to deliver parcels. They should go and find something else to do they can do properly without crying and trying to wriggle out of doing it and actually take some pride in their work.
Why on earth would I not want my parcel delivered after I have paid for it to be delivered?

AVOID, Iam in Ecuador Account blocked in payoneer because the manager talk with payoneer , and after Payoneer ask me that retired my money and give some days so I tried to do it and the key dont work, so they steal my money I tried to talk with service client and they not answer me, blocked so gets terminated for the reason "not fallow theirs rules" but never told me exactly what... but it happened after when I paid the hight paid for send me tha card to house with DHL but never arrive and I must start to research where it was, I did calls and they did aa mistake and send me to other part of city again call and finally tired of to walk for all city of one agency to other I arrive so only was in this agency 2 people noboy in chairs waiting so I moved my mask to breathe and that's why the manager of this store yelled at me as a terrorist that she was going to throw me out if I didn't put it on properly right away. Having paid the highest cost for the shipment and that it never arrived and in addition to that the mistreatment of the client so I ask my payoneer card and left that place and the next day payoneer canceled me and kept the balance of my money luckily I has not sent all my funds to payoneer this complicated my freelance online work, DHL is a TERRIBLE SERVICE it is the WORST tried with other service in special if you are paid hight cost,

Problems with international parcel return
My husband and I are having a huge problem with respect to the DHL international parcel delivery. We are struggling to have our returned parcels delivered. To make a very long story short, my husband sent me two international parcels from the UK. After different problems, DHL sent back the parcels to the shipper in the UK (which was my husband). Now DHL UK is saying that the shipper is not my husband and cannot discuss shipment with him!
The parcels are located in the UK since the 27th of August and it’s being impossible to change the delivery address or to have any clear information from DHL concerning their delivery.
It's been a very frustrating experience from the beginning.

DHL does send from corporate addresses to corporate addresses with their private service.
A supplier send me materials at work but used the private DHL service for that.
This means that I do get to pay import duties as private person, while it was send to my work address?
Why is DHL allowing this kind of corruption?
How can I be hold liable for something that is done wrong by the supplier and the shipment company.
The support desk of DHL was not helpful or friendly at all. It is time that DHL takes responsibility and not blame other parties for this BS.

Had my carpenter with me when he delivered ie I was busy - so didn't get chance to count boxes/look inside them - and 3/5ths of the Cox&Cox order were not delivered...

DHL Portugal is the most appalling international delivery service I have ever experienced worldwide.
I have had 4 parcels that were meant to be delivered by Portuguese DHL. Not a single one was delivered to my addresss. DHL claimed they made an attempt to deliver the parcel but I wasn't at home (which wasn't the case). 4 times you could see that a DHL courier simply picked up my parcel at about 8:40 am in Lisbon and then at 9:20-9:30 am already checked a notification that I was unavailable. Not a buzz in my door, not a ping on my phone, not a single card in my mailbox with "I was here at 9:05 am. Your parcel will be available from XX at XX".
When I got in touch with the support team, DHL claimed that I was the one who was lying and refused to initiate the requested investigation.
Customers are nothing to DHL, no respect about them, no respect about own name. The company takes the money and doesn't do its job (I think if that was about a person that would have been called a fraud and would have resulted in firing him/her for the wrongdoing). But this is DHL, they don't worry about that. Not a single parcel/document will be sent by me personally through DHL worldwide because of the shocking level of services and disrepect by DHL Portugal.

Don't trust DHL and don't select the signature free option
Had a parcel of documents sent via DHL to me for 12:00 delivery today. At 1146 got a text saying it had been delivered, whcih it had not. Impossible to contact DHL by any of their listed numbers as no one answered. Package did arrive after 12 and on questioning the driver he said that because I had selected the signature free option they no longer had to deliver it in their contracted timescale ie 1200, which was also what was marked on the package also.
