Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 55 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with product quality, including furniture that quickly deteriorated, had damaged parts upon arrival, or was not fit for its intended purpose. Reviewers also frequently experienced poor customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to get a resolution for their problems. The delivery service was a major source of frustration, with many reporting significant delays, missed deliveries, and a lack of communication regarding delivery dates. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with the staff, praising their helpfulness, knowledge, and patience in assisting with choices. Some customers also noted that the delivery team was helpful in setting up the furniture, despite overall issues with the delivery process.

Very poor service

Very poor service, the store at Middlebrook nr Bolton was v helpful & attentive when buying our electric recliner suite but different again 2 days later when i telephoned them!! to complain.
Also when signing paperwork in store the assistant kept reiterating we cannot cancel or change our minds & this made us feel v uneasy about things.
We chose from a swatch sample that looked nothing like what we received, which was a circular patchy pattern- v v disappointed but they would not acknowledge the colour & difference in pattern to their swatch!!
Then we had an engineer out same day as when reclining the couch it scrapes on the carpet- the chairs dont or the other end of the couch doesn't but again they said it was bedding into the carpet & not their problem!! saying if we had a tiled floor ut will be fine!!
I tele the store but got fobbed off by a Liverpool fast speaking woman whom was rude & patronising- no exchanges or refunds etc allowed!! so stuck with a awful colour & pattern not what we thought we was getting & conts to scrape on the carpet when reclining!!!
Beware of this company, the delivery date & date was wrong & they are full of excuses!!!

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent purchase and the shocking customer service I’ve experienced. I ordered a wardrobe that arrived incomplete, making it unusable and unsafe—it leans dangerously when opened, putting anyone, especially my son, at risk. Despite reaching out multiple times, I’ve received no updates or any indication of when the missing parts will arrive.

This lack of accountability and poor communication is unacceptable. If you’re considering buying from this company, think twice. They take your money, deliver an unusable product, and then go silent when you seek support. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company!

Truck driver hit our car

Truck driver hit our car. All three men in the car looked down to see the damage they have done. Contacted dfs and had horrible customer service considering what happened. Now they are disputing the claim when myself and my mother witnessed it and all three men in the car witnessed it too. A disgrace. A horrible company to buy from with horrible customer service and careless drivers. Never buy from this company. An absolute disgrace

Property damage

Sofa delayed by weeks. Wrong footstool colour sent and had to wait another 6 weeks for replacement. Main issue is when delivered the sofas, delivery company damaged our carpet leaving a big black mark on a brand new carpet. Sent images to dfs who sent someone out to try and clean it. It didn’t remove as its not dirt. DFS head office called and said they will take no liability as we have no proof it was them. Unsure how we prove this. The mark is exactly where the new sofa sits. In a brand new build house and new carpet. Will never buy from them again.

Damaged front door and frame….Phoned up twice with measurement when…

Phoned up twice with measurements when ordering a sofa from Belfast branch to make sure it way would fit in the door and was told it would.
On Sunday it was delivered by “the chuckle brothers”,they really damaged our front door/frame trying to push in a sofa that would not fit..
They said “ sure take out your front window and put it in,just like that..🙄
They said dfs would pay for the damage to the door..
They took photos and we had cctv of
the clowns pushing in the sofa..
Now there saying “we told them to push it in and us not even near them”,so won’t at for the damage.the dfs delivery drivers should be recorded on phone once they land, they will li to get themselves out of trouble for property damage which is a daily accurace.
Iam glad it didn’t fit in because it was only rubbish, not comfortable at all, cheap looking and for price of it.
Next home does better quality sofas and most furniture stores.
@AVOID. AVOID

The worst experience

Actually don’t think it is possible to rate these ones any lower. They had a guaranteed delivery day for 5th Sept and we are still wait now (23/10/24). Nobody can give me a straight answer of when the heck it is going to be delivered and trying to get speaking to someone who knows who they are talking about is impossible. There is no way of actually speaking to someone from the store only this person on the phone who doesn’t know anything and isn’t actually able to do anything. I asked for their supervisor and there seemingly isn’t one! So here we are now 19wks later with no sofa and unable to cancel the order. AVOID DFS AT ALL COSTS!!

Not what we expected…

We bought 2 electric leather sofas expecting them to last like our previous sofa from DFS decades ago 17 hrs. Nope at 6 yrs just past warranty a metal pole snapped that supports the when it extends and the padding going. They sent someone out during covid period was told it was our fault and “they only make sofas to last 5 yrs” now it would seem, the seats are leather and the arms but everything else is bonded leather and it is peeling and crumbling away. Lesson learnt, make sure sofas a full leather and never buy from DFS again.

I bought a 2x3 seater and 1x1 seater recliner sofa set.The one we choose in showroom was different than one we received.when l made a complaint they said they sent me the pictures of the one l received by email so l should have notified them if it was wrong order. When we received the sofa one of the power pack(with split head or double head)missing and delivery man put in notes said l will receive soon.02/09/2024 received sofa today is 19/10/2024 l only received single power pack which is not good because l need double head. I called them several times but still haven’t received (this is banbury branch by the way) never ever buy anything from them and if anyone ask me l will not recommend this company very friendly liars.

Classism

We popped to Dfs to look at sofas in Bury St Edmunds branch.
We was pondering over 1 sofa in particularly for a little time ( 20 mins).
We were ignored by 3 members of staff. Then there were 2 members of staff looking at us and just stood there. It appeared they were discussing who was going to attend. Usually staff see you look and come to assist. It felt they were not interested in us but had to attend to us
We were in slouchy clothing and put it down to how we looked. Others were casually dressed. I could've been a reporter doing an experiment on how people are treated by others due to the way they've dressed.
I thought classism was a thing of the past
clearly not.Very disappointed with their attitudes.
My experience was awful.

SONDER 3 seater - recliner

Almost 4 months passed since I bought my sofa from DFS (£1400 and over 13 weeks of waiting ) .Here is my honest opinion on this . .. Sofa itself is pretty stylish and we do like material and the colour When it comes to comfort and reclining mechanisms it’s all good 👍.
Unfortunately the quality of assembly of a sofa is rather poor ( hand made sofa ) that’s why when sitting on or standing up the sofa squeaks like it was old sofa ..DONT LIKE THAT.. I’m a bit disappointed also people who delivering furnitures need to be more careful about handling things .They scratched my floor .

Shocking company

Shocking company .

Took a 70 year old pensioners money and told her a sofa would be delivered that was in stock in 1-2 weeks . 8 weeks later she still has no sofa and has been forced to sit on the floor because she had to get did of the old sofa to make way for the new one .

Store is proving to be difficult with processing refund and cannot confirm a delivery date .

Their customer service team are not helpful at all all they do is ask the store to call my mum who doesn't speak good English . They insist they can only call her and not any of her children to discuss the matter .

This is no way to treat customers let's alone 70 year old pensioners .

Utterly appalling it really is I can honestly say I've never had this type of service before .

One of the customer service people even once suggested a 20% restocking charge which was later rescinded after I had to argued with them in the shop .

I literally cannot believe the word restocking was ever even included in a conversation after all this .
