TERRIBLE - ACNE TREATMENT

To anyone reading this who has ACNE- DO NOT GO TO DESTINATION SKIN OR USE ANY OBAGI PRODUCTS.

I purchased the Obagi Nu- Derm skin care range based on expert medical advice from an expert in the field of dermatology. To this effect, I relied upon a doctor's medical advice to purchase the Obagi range in the hope it would improve my skin concerns (acne).

On the 13 July 2019 having arrived at the clinic, I waited approximately 20 minutes and was informed by the receptionist the Dr would not be seeing me due to her fees being £200+ for an Obagi consolation. I had been informed by the receptionist previously this would be waived as I have been trying to see a doctor since the beginning of my Obagi treatment.

I made the purchase of Obagi Nuderm kit costing £500+ in April 2019 as advised by Dr Kent. I shared my concerns with Dr Kent, whom I saw twice before making the purchase. I expressed by skin concerns and under the supervision of Dr Kent who stated that I had "acne" and "scarring" to which I felt was minimal and minor. I believed she was the expert in the field, considering she is able to diagnose and prescribe Obagi medication, specifically tretinoin of 1%.

As I began my treatment, with an immediate affect I was informed that Dr Kent was no longer practicing at the clinic. Therefore, I had no support from any skin clinic to help advise me throughout my treatment.

After heavily calling and asking for help, I was able to make an appointment with Dr Micheal from the Oxford Circus branch in May 2019. I felt he was incompetent and poorly advised me again. I expressed my skin was becoming worse and I was not sure if this was was right. Dr Micheal, seemed very disinterested as said "its hard to know because I don't know your skin". He then proceeded to tell me to "purchase more products" rather than looking at the root cause of my skin.

Since May until now (August) I have continued to try and make an appointment and continued using the Obagi products in the correct way, as I was fearful that my skin would be damaged.

I have shared my frustration with the lack of standards of service and care provided by Destination Skin to the Practice Manager (who previously was the receptionist and agreed my skin looked "worse").

The Practice Manager stated that they were not able to provide me with a refund as I have exceeded the '14 days' and the products have been 'used'. As you are aware, Obagi can take up 12 weeks to show improvements. This is stated clearly within the Obaji Nu- Derm instruction manual. Therefore, it is unjust and unreasonable to state that within “14 days” you would offer an exchange.

The whole diagnosis was utterly incorrect and was simply a money grabbing event, to induce a vulnerable student like myself, to purchase something was is not correct for my skin. I have been clearly misled and diagnosed high medical grade treatments which has left my skin, thin, sensitive and more with more spots. I am now more self conscious that I was before. I now have icepick scarring on my cheeks.

Love Destination Skin

Love Destination Skin! The girls are so lovely and really look after you. They make you feel really pampered whatever treatment you may have. I'm really impressed with what I've had done so far and starting to see the results. Would recommend to anyone and I'll be returning very soon.

I went to Destinaiton Skin in…Manchester

I went to Destination Skin in Manchester and visited over the period of 6 months to help reduce my acne scaring. I was very trustful in the technicians and the products however not only did the treatment make my acne return but my scarring is now even worse.

I was attempting to repair my damaged skin barrier and with sensitive, acne/ rosacea prone skin I was recommended to try the Epionce range which worked well for the first month along with a lite refresh peel.

The technician then suggested some new products for me ( and the the obagi peel treatment) which my skin reacted horribly too. She said it was possibly just purging. After 5 weeks (two peels, & following the new product recommendations) I saw no improvement. I then contacted the company of the skincare line and found out that I was told the wrong information regarding the amount I should be using the product. I also found out that the Obagi line should be introduced gradually, which was not the case.

They were nice enough to exchange the product for me; and to compensate for the horrible Obagi reaction I was allowed 2 more lite peels (which I only used 1 up as my skin was still getting worse). Obviously the peel treatments did not work well with my skin and I took the matters in my own hands by never returning.

If you are a skin care amateur and know nothing about ingredients this is the place for you to come and explore skin care and learn a bit more about it. As someone who is familiar with this already I found my time here to be a waste of money and my skin has suffered because of it.

I have photographic evidence on the downfall of my skin and am still trying to recover from the process. Even after my horrible breakouts they still kept badgering me to buy more and more products (which they all make a huge amount of commission off btw).

If you have sensitive / acne prone skin and are looking for a skin care specialist DO NOT COME HERE! I trusted my technician and spent A LOT of money on the products and treatments only to find my skin became worse over time. Destination skin just wants your money, they do try their best to prioritise your skin. But at the end of the day it's another chain business trying to sell you products/ treatments.

Guildford clinic.
Never had any issues. Their laser is more powerful than other clinics I tried. I would give 5 star if the prices for injectables were less expensive. Girls change all the time but always lovely staff.

Extremely disappointed.

I have been visiting the Bristol clinic for a hair laser removal treatment. Initially I was satisfied with the service provided even though they lied to me during the first two session that they were treating me on alex when they were not . However, during my last treatment the practitioner burnt a big part of my thigh and knee. When I went back to let her know she gave me a cream and assured me that I will not have any permanent damage to my skin. After 3 weeks I noticed some big white spots that indicated skin damage. I visited a dermatologist that explained to me the severity of skin damage like this especially during the summer with sun exposure. I went back to the clinic, complained and requested my money back. The manager told me that I will have to do this in writing and that she doesn't think I will get my money back because they have done nothing wrong. She did however give me two creams as a ‘gesture of good will’. I submitted a written complain and they responded to me that since they have followed procedure (patch test before treatment) they don't have have responsibility for the fact they severely burnt my skin and refused to give me my money back. I guess in destination skin they believe that its a matter of lack whether they burn you or not, even though I repeatedly complained during the treatment that I am in pain. It looks like they also think that its okay for people to pay 2.000 pounds to remove their hair but end up with skin damage instead. I don’t think anyone should trust a clinic that does not take responsibility for their own mistakes or try to fix them. As a matter of fact this is what they wrote back to me: “this is one of many risks involved in Laser, as you are aware from the contract you signed before starting treatment with us.” I guess its my fault after all ??

Dissapointing experience

Felt forced into purchasing products that were pricey and similar, with little opportunity to query the effectiveness of the products. The sales consultant performed a well rehearsed sales pitch for the purpose of her trainee colleague who was observing the session at the time. Dissapointing overall experience

Went in for a facial months ago

Went in for a facial months ago. The facial was overpriced and didn’t do anything for my skin. I felt like the only aim of it was to try to sell me products. Nice and clean place though.

Very nice environment and the professional staffs adds more comfortable feeling. They are very patient and everything was absolutely fine.
Up to 70% of my hair was gone in just one session, It's unbelievable.

Everyone is happy until something goes…

Everyone is happy until something goes wrong and they scar you! You'd think they would be professional enough to admit it and solve the problem for you! Not in my case and so Cardiff clinic denied they burned my skin, then threatened if I made a legal case they will not repay the rest of the course I did not have treatment for. After months I eventually got some of my money back, then they still threaten me if I left bad feedback they will take me to court. However feeling hurt and having a say about this is freedom of speech! Today I have scars that has taken away my confidence when at first I went there to enhance my confidence! Glad for those who have had a good experience thus far, if it goes wrong, be aware they aren't as nice or professional then. All I can say is Karma, what goes around comes around! One day something will happen to those involved and they will feel how they made those feel that they hurt and ruined emotional, physically and mentally. Fact of life!
