If Macdonalds was an airline….
Well, I’m currently on my Delta transatlantic flight from JFK, where to start… check in: absolute circus: all self service terminals which apparently you HAVE to use even if your checked in had twenty plus people waiting and then after that hour long ordeal there was a 100 person line to actually drop the bags.
Skip forward to the flight - they only have and a quote ‘enough headphones for half the passengers’ and then to the food oh what a joy - served stone cold with a bread roll that could have been used as a medieval weapon. Then I was waiting for the toilet: two staf pushed in front of me and said they HAD to use the restroom first, then I when to ask for a drink the stewardess was very busy eating what looked liked a Chinese takeaway she nodded to acknowledge my request and continue to eat her noodles with chop sticks while simultaneously pouring my drink: props for multi tasking.
$1500 for an economy ticket - welcome to Macdonalds in the air - except that the cheeseburger isn’t 99 cents
Delta Overcharged My 14-Year-Old. Comfort Plus Is a Lie. This Airline Is a Scam.dishonest…
I just had one of the most dishonest experiences I’ve ever seen in 30+ years of flying.
My 14-year-old son checked one bag. Instead of charging it as a first bag under his name, Delta charged my ex-wife $130, claiming it was her "second bag" — even though she had her own bag separately.
This isn’t just lazy — it’s intentional billing fraud.
And when I flew Delta myself on a Comfort Plus ticket (which includes upgraded service), I got nothing — no snack, no drink, no service. Just excuses.
On a 2.5-hour flight, they said turbulence prevented snack service… except first class still got served.
Delta’s check-in system is designed to deceive, and their customer service doesn’t fix it unless you threaten to dispute charges.
I’ve posted screenshots, filed DOT complaints, and started sharing this story publicly — because they’re not just dishonest, they’re predators.
Shame on CEO Ed Bastian. You “preach transparency” while your customers get robbed blind.
If you fly Delta, bring your own snacks — and a lawyer.

Delay. Flight missed. App malfunction. Bad website. Wrong Payment processing. The worst things happened to me too many occasions.
Seats are tiny
Seats are tiny, legroom is nonexistent, and flight attendants act like they don’t wanna be there. Food sucks, flights are always delayed, and good luck getting your baggage on time. For what they charge, they should at least pretend to care. Not worth it unless you got no choice.
I will never fly Delta Airlines…
I will never fly Delta Airlines anymore, their crew are very disrespectful, antagonizing and bad! The agent gave me a wrong informations that hurt my round trip flight to Baltimore, they harassed me and held our first class seats against us and put un ON REQUEST!!! That is how they treat first class passengers, they gave me 15000 miles i didnt accept it even though it was 100000 miles given to each of us, we will never fly with Delta Airlines anymore, this is how they treat a senior citizen. They sell to us Delta One First Class but the aircraft was an Airbus 319 and 322 which does not have the Delta One First Class, they just suck! I totally do not trust them! Their reservation agent where i booked my flight did not entirely tell me the informations in reference to my dog that was not allowed in First CLass, I got taken aback when they said, we cannot let you be in First Class and they sold our seats to another passenger, that was so RUDE!!! If you dont want to spoil your flight, do not fly with Delta Airlines!!!!
Nightmare travelling…
To summarise my first flight to Amsterdam was delayed and from Amsterdam I was offered a flight to Boston instead of Los Angeles. I asked for a direct flight to San Francisco but was told that was not possible. (I later was told it was possible but that delta wanted me to go only by delta to the US) The Boston flight was ok but when I arrived I discovered that I would have to collect my luggage and take it to get re-checkrf. after I got through customs I went to the Delta chech in desk and after 10 minutes they told me I was booked on an Alaskan airline flight and that I would not get to that terminal in time to make my flight. They kept me there for about 35/45 minutes and tried to persuade me to take a later Delta flight (money again) Eventually I asked for directions to the Alaskan terminal and I eventually got there just in time to check my bags. I was delayed while getting another search and arrived just as the flight had closed the doors. Alaskan airlines tried to make me stay overnight but I returned to the Delta desk and after 10 minutes of arguing they placed me on the later flight which they had originally tried to persuade me to take. My luggage however had left on the Alaskan airline flight. Both the Boston flight and the eventual San Francisco flights were half empty and I sat by myself on both flights this explains why delta was only concerned about money and not the customer. I eventually got to San Francisco about 6/7 hours late and when I eventually found my luggage I was considerably late. Coming back from San Francisco was also hectic and when I did eventually arrive back in Newcastle I was told my luggage was still in Paris but would arrive later that same day. When my luggage did not show up however I called and they now said in a very bad attempt at English that my luggage was lost. The luggage showed up two days later and my golf bag was damaged/ripped. I had booked using my Delta points thinking it would be cheaper and smoother and it was neither and I doubt I'll fly delta again.
25+ years customer here. Divorcing Delta.
25+ years customer here.
Our flight was delayed 6 hours and we were dumped in a closed airport in the middle of the night w/o any assistance whatsoever from Delta. The car rental desks were all closed and we had a reservation. We also had a prepaid hotel located an hour away and got zero help in getting there from Delta. The ride would've been $100 to get to our hotel and Delta offered NOTHING.
To add insult to injury, they're now denying a claim for a measly $22 which was the Uber fee to get to our car rental place the next morning.
DELTA had massive flight delays at the end of July 2024 and has done nothing to help their customers get to their destinations and complete their travels. Even $22 is too much for these cheapskates.
Almost every other airline has cheaper flights than Delta whether it's United, Southwest, American... yet out of loyalty I kept choosing to fly with them despite them treating long time customers like dirt.
Au revoir, Delta. 25 years means this is divorce.
Delta cancelled our flight from jfk to…
Delta cancelled our flight from jfk to Rome. They never gave a reason as we waited at the gate. No explanation on what was happening via a loud speaker but instead had to wait in a line that didn’t move for hours. Delta also in all that time, didn’t even retrieve our luggage which was still on the plane. 2 days later and our luggage is still not delivered to us. Pathetic. Customer service is anything but!! My recommendation for anyone flying to Europe is to use Norse Airlines. They only use new 787 Dreamliners unlike Delta’s old fleet and are much more reasonable in pricing. Avoid Delta at all cost. They could care less about their passengers.
Worst Customer Service…
I had the worst customer service experience of my life with this company. The red coats believe they are gods walking on the earth as one told me he could do anything he wants to me and there are no ramifications. This man demeaned me, lied, and attempted to defame my name. It was a horrifying experience and I will never fly this airline again. It is repulsive what people given a tiny bit of power will do with it to control others. It's worse that Delta Airlines has empowered them with the belief that they can rather than consider the customer.
I departed Palm Beach with my Irish…
I departed Palm Beach with my Irish passport for a round trip to Europe on June 5, 2024. My first leg was to JFK in New York. At both airports no less than 2 Delta agents handled my round trip tickets beside TSA check-in. I had a copy of my US passport in my carryon which I always bring when traveling, but before I left my passport disappeared (later found by the library where it ended up in a book). My Irish passport had worked fine when I used it many years before a new ESTA visa requirement was enacted in 2009. None of the Delta agents in the US said "you may have a difficult time returning with this Irish passport". It would have helped me tremendously as I could have gone to the US Embassy in a number of cities and gotten the ESTA which I needed in order to board in Prague. As you already have guessed, the Prague Delta supervisor would not allow me on the plane stating you must either have a visa or be a US citizen. Neither a paper copy of my US passport, nor my FL driver's license were proof of my citizenship. So my husband boarded the plane for home and I booked a room at the hotel airport as the next return flight was the next day, June 19, 2024. After taxiing to the US Embassy and obtaining an emergency US passport, rebooking my flight, paying for the passport, extra taxis and meals I incurred an extra $720.00 in expenses for which I filed a Delta reimbursement form. I have no knowledge of the result of my reimbursement application at this time.
I believe Delta could have stepped up and advised me of travelling requirements on a foreign passport, but in Prague I was told that it is the passenger's responsibility. It would have been nice to rectify this before I was denied boarding the plane to NYC where the next plane was delayed at LGA after I transferred from JFK.
Horrible
After a 50 minute delay leaving Phoenix caused by Delta Airlines themselves, we were cutting it close to catch our connecting flight back home to Bismarck. We actually made it to the gate after running through the airport with our 3 kids, one of which is a 7 week old infant and were told that they were closing the gate and that we could not get on.
We were then stranded at Minneapolis Airport and subject to a $600 per day rental car rate with SIXT because of "supply and demand issues" with rental cars. There was not one single other available rental option in the airport. It was around 2am before we were able to find a decent hotel again due to "supply and demand issues".
For the amount of money we paid with Delta for these flights and all of the travel that we've done in the past it is absolutely outrageous that we received the treatment that we did. Delta Airlines is NOT for the customers and the their main focus is not to achieve customer satisfaction.
I'd like to emphasize on the fact that they were un willing to offer us 5 minutes extra to board and that they left me and my family stranded with a 7 weeks old infant!!!!!!!
Avoid DELTA!
Avoid DELTA!
I bought a ticket, choosing DELTA because it has the fastest time to fly; when the trip came, they sent an email saying that my flight was rescheduled and I had to stay at the airport for two extra hours for the connection. I wanted to be refounded because that was one of the options they sent me in an email; according to the operator, the passenger has to wait more than 170 minutes at the airport to be rescheduled. I ended up with two vouchers and it is possible that they will change again over my new ticket...what a shame on this airline. i dont recommend anyone to take such risk. avoid it!
Why would anyone voluntarily fly with this airline?
My first time flying Delta this last week - what a horrendous experience. From the attitude of the staff; to the million-zone boarding process where passengers aimlessly wait around; to delays; to parts of the plane falling off during the flight (the aircon duct literally fell off and landed on my head during one leg of the journey); to the food. Nothing about Delta was pleasant.
I have spent more than 1000 hours flying many airlines over the last 10 years. Even Ryanair offers a better experience.
Delta First Class and Skymiles program are scams
Delta makes a big deal about domestic first class on its new Airbus planes, but it's a scam. They spent money putting the seats in hard shells that do not provide the advertised privacy instead of making them comfortable and more padded - they are basically slightly wider coach class seats. The advertised wifi never works, and the audio doesn't work in most of the first-class seats- as verified by the flight attendants (same experience on June 1 flight as well). The supposed high-quality food is disgusting, especially the breakfast. As far as their frequent flyer program, it's another scam - you can only use your points for an upgrade from coach class on a standby basis, waiting until the last minute to see if they have a first class seat available - good luck with that!

Discount airline at premium price
Delta is now officially a discount airline at a premium price!
Lately they have been shamelessly riding on their reputation.
A couple weeks ago, we tried to go to Cancun from Salt Lake City via Atlanta with plenty of time to spare for our connecting flight.
Only problem is that the departing flight was not a few minutes late but hours late! The Delta desk attendant told us the plane had mechanical issues.
Since this massive delay would have caused us to miss our connecting flight in Atlanta, we had to rebook our flight for the next day, pretty much ruining our trip.
We tried to get a refund for the first night at the hotel which we had to forfeit, and Delta is now telling us they cannot refund us because the room was pre-paid! Of course, we had to reserve that hotel ahead of time. The arrogance of that airline is just limitless.
Finally, we were able to check the historical data on that specific flight (you can get this data from several sites such as Flightradar24), and it turned out that this Delta flight has been either delayed or cancelled 5 times over 10 days from February 1st through February 10th, including our flight.
So, this seems to be a systemic issue with delta's plane maintenance and management. In fact, the attendant we talked to encouraged us to rebook the trip as a direct flight telling us that Atlanta was experiencing lots of maintenance problems. Nice to know, and not very comforting ;(
I will not make any speculation about the risk level that Delta might be exposing its customers to, but when an airplane keeps being delayed (and in one instance cancelled), this is something everyone should be concerned about. At least this should be brought up and questioned.
At this point we have decided to totally stop using Delta. Other airlines are now much better at better prices.
Delta Airlines, Scramble
I was on a Delta flight returning home after Christmas and I was the FIRST passenger on the plane. I tried to put my carry on into the overhead bin above my seat but there were already two suitcases in it. I walked to the back to speak with the Steward (the one in the front when I boarded was slightly rude) and told her the overhead bin was full. She told me to put my suitcase wherever there was room so I used the next one closest to my seat. As other passengers boarded there was so much confusion going on with everyone trying to find an empty bin. It's a good thing our flight wasn't running late or that would have delayed it even more.
I wish I could leave no stars for Delta…
I wish I could leave no stars for Delta airlines but unfortunately that is not a option. I recently took a flight from Buenos Aires to Atlanta then on to Toronto. When I arrived in Toronto my luggage was nowhere to be found. Spoke to delta personal they told me that my luggage was in Atlanta that was a lie found out later from Delta the luggage never maid the Buenos Aires. took 2 days for my luggage to arrive in Toronto. on top of that I found delta stall rude and unfriendly. Never fly with delta again and would recommend to others to fly with another airlines for their travels
Delta cancelled my reservation
On August 13, 2023, we bought two tickets to travel from Montreal, Canada, to Bogota, Colombia. We purchased them through the Travel Makers agency. We paid CAD$3760 for the two tickets.
After a long back and forth with the Agency, on August 26, we finally received flight confirmation with the reservation codes: JPVNML and JQDGNT and completed the registration process on the Delta Airlines website. We confirmed the tickets and provided our personal information on the Delta Website. Also, we called and asked to notify us of any change regarding our reservation, and everything was in order until last Friday, November 10, 2023, when our reservation was cancelled.
Immediately, we called Delta Airlines and a customer service representative said they did not contact us because they did not have our personal information, but as we said our information was provided on Delta's Website. Also, they could not provide clear information and said the Travel Makers requested to cancel our reservation.
When contacting the Agency Travel Makers, they provided the opposite information and argued that Delta Airlines was the one who cancelled the tickets to sell them for a higher price. The Agency told us that Delta Airlines cancelled all the reservations for December as they promotional fare.
Neither Delta Airlines nor Travel Makers provided us with clear information and refused to refund our payment or continue with our reservation.
We are almost a month before the flight date, and we, as consumers, are affected financially and morally. Our rights are being violated, and both Delta Airlines and Travel Makers are abusing customers like us.
