Í very satisfied with degiro platform.Frank
---Pros:
1. It is in a great tax category for Hungarians.
2. Great variety of stocks.
---Cons:
1. Price delay
Some important financial data is delayed by 15 minutes.
2. Deposit/withdrawal
The deposit/withdrawal system is extremely bad. It is the worst I have seen so far. They have a policy, that you can not store money in your Degiro account on the long term. But not only that.
They tried to send a part of my money back the same day I deposited it (for no reason). So, I had to wait days until that amount arrived to my checking account, then I redeposited it. But when it finally arrived to Degiro, they have already started to send back the other part that got deposited earlier.
Withdrawals take a very long time.
3. Fees
Commissions and fees are too high even for a 4-8 day holding strategy. Only optimal for the ‘buy and hold’ approach.
4. They only have a €20,000 protection for assets.
5. Only bank transfer.
6. Trading platform
Unorganized, dumbed-down trading platform with a lot of unnecessary news and videos. Not customizable by any means. (Is there anyone who watches news videos in his/her brokerage account?) No available studies.
7. Balance changes
The first transactions I made was buying two shares in two distinct companies. After 4 days I sold them. This simple buy and sell resulted in 33 (yes 33) different changes to my account balance.
8. Emails are always late 1-2 days.
My overall experience is excellent with this product, but I would like to report to the developers, that I found a misbehavior during Transaction List export. After setting the start and end date to cover the last year entirely, the export button resulted a file, containing only transactions from the last few days only. The list of transactions appeared well on the screen, but the exported file.

I use Degiro now since 1.5 year, for long term ETF investments.
So far I never had problems with the service which was not caused by my mistakes.
As mentioned earlier from Hungary we cannot hold "free" money on our account longer than 2 days, but this did not caused big issues with my trading strategy (long term) with the trading account where we can go into negative balance.
Fees are really low compared to the alternatives in Hungary.

Positive: I begin with the positive things. I've been using Degiro for about a year now and I am very satisfied with their service. I am very happy that there is a brokerage also for people who are not US citizens. The user interface is and was always fine and easy to use. The call center has always been available and ready to give a promt help. Only now in the pandemic times it is more difficult to get live help but fortunately I only had problems twice in 6 months (, which have been resolved quite fast after reaching their call center). The money transfer is also very fast. I only use one account so the time the money arrives is quite short, usually same day at midnight.
Negative: The only hindsight I can mention is that as a Hungarian citizen I cannot keep 'free' money on my Degiro account longer than 2 or 3 days. So I need to re-transfer the money every time. Fortunately for 2 years my local bank does not charge me a transfer fee, but for those whose banks are charging fees for money transfer it is quite pricy in the long run. I really hope this is going to be resolved in the future because I would like to stay with Degiro for a long time.
Conclusion: 4/5
