Always great ordering from D'Angelico direct. My only small gripe is the color choices of some other parts...like Scalini pickguards are limited. If D'A carried more colors, specifically pearled cream... See more

Bari SS vs Bari Atlantic

I’m a big fan of the Deluxe Baritone Atlantic, which makes playing almost effortless. I developed my style by putting giant thick strings on my SG and tuning it down, but the tuning heads kept exploding from the tension so I decided to upgrade to a real baritone. I couldn’t find anything as fun to drool over as the beauty and majesty of D’Angelico so that part was a no brainer. That being said, when the Deluxe Baritone SS arrived I found it relatively unplayable. A lot of that is my fault because I play percussively and I couldn’t find any way to get a decent kick or snare sound without plinking against the massive Great Dane P90 next to the bridge. Without pulling my hair out I discovered a solution. I raised the action just high enough above the P90 and then compensated for that by turning the truss rod clockwise to lean the neck back away from the bridge and now the action is just as fantastic as my Baritone Atlantic. Don’t tell my Atlantic, but the snare sound on my Deluxe SS is actually pretty awesome with a nice woody thwack to it.

Missing order

I’ve loved D’Angelico guitars for over a decade. My EXL1 tailpiece recently broke at the hinges. I was given a discount code and was told the part I need should be in stock later in the week. Once the part was in stock I placed an order. The part was paid for over a week ago and there are still no shipping details. I emailed customer service two days ago and have received no response. I’m still pretty confident it will turn out okay, but I currently have a guitar shaped decoration by D’Angelico until I have the tailpiece. :) Just looking for some answers.

Excel EXL-1

The guitar's playability, sound and appearance exceeded my expectations. It has a bell-like tone; the art-deco design, binding and finish are gorgeous. It will be cherished.

No Response from the customer service

I purchased a D’Angelico Bedford Deluxe SH at the end of November from an authorized dealer in Germany. After receiving the guitar, I noticed a few quality-related issues and contacted D’Angelico’s support/warranty department with a detailed description.

Unfortunately, I have not received a response yet. I understand that support teams can be busy, but given the price of the instrument, I was hoping for some feedback or guidance on how to proceed.

I am sharing this experience here to inform other customers and hope that communication will improve, as I truly like the instrument and the brand.

Seamless purchase experience

Very easy to order the guitar, and shipping was extremely fast! I received it within a couple of days. This is the second instrument I've ordered, and both experiences have been exceptional.

Thank you, D'Angelico!

Firstly, I love the Korean made guitars, especially my Excel SS. I own a nice Gibson 335, as well as other name guitars, and my D'Angelico is as sweet or better than the others. The staff who have helped me with my minor request were absolutely terrific. Much kudos to management and staff!
