My experience is one of Utter Happiness from the bottom of my heart.
Music has been my top hobby from when I was 18. I danced every opportunity. I'm a Music fanatic. I dance round the house when house cleaning. My Mam used to say 'you have it' when I would accompany her and Dad to Social Dancing. DYF has uplifted me in my daily life since I retired from Nursing.

I joined DYF in Sept’19 and it was one of the best decisions I have made.
The classes are run by amazing teachers, every week we learn new steps and with different music themes. Classes are always interesting, energetic and great fun, the perfect tonic for mind, body and soul. The DYF community is fantastic, everyone is welcome, I joined on my own and from the first class felt right at home and welcomed. I have made great friends, some I met on my very first night and we are still dancing together and just started back on the new term.
DYF has so much to offer from face to face classes, on line programmes and support, it is so much more than a dance class.

Dance Yourself Fit is more than just a fitness trend—it's a dynamic, joyful, and transformative approach to wellness that integrates physical activity, mental health, and emotional well-being through the expressive power of dance. By combining movement with music, this practice transcends traditional workouts and becomes a full-body, mind-body experience that supports a healthier, more vibrant life.
At its core, Dance Yourself Fit uses rhythmic movement as a form of cardiovascular exercise, helping participants improve endurance, burn calories, and tone muscles. Unlike repetitive gym routines, dance offers variety through diverse styles—from high-energy hip-hop and Latin dance to graceful ballet-inspired workouts and freestyle improvisation. This diversity not only prevents workout fatigue but also engages different muscle groups, promoting balanced physical development.
Beyond the physical benefits, dance has profound mental and emotional effects. Movement to music stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural mood elevators, reducing stress and anxiety while increasing feelings of joy and confidence. The immersive nature of dance allows individuals to become fully present, fostering mindfulness and a sense of flow that can serve as a form of moving meditation. This mental clarity can boost cognitive function, improve focus, and even aid in emotional regulation.
Dance Yourself Fit is also deeply inclusive and adaptable. Regardless of age, fitness level, or background, anyone can participate and progress at their own pace. Whether done in a structured class, at home with a video, or informally in a living room, it offers accessibility that many fitness programs lack. This inclusivity encourages consistency—an essential component of long-term health.
Social connection is another key element. Group dance fitness classes such as Zumba or Dance Cardio build community, reduce feelings of isolation, and encourage accountability. The shared joy of moving to music with others can create lasting bonds and a supportive environment that reinforces positive lifestyle choices.
Moreover, dance taps into the expressive and creative aspects of the self. It allows people to reconnect with their bodies not just as tools for exercise but as instruments of self-expression. This reconnection can enhance body image, self-esteem, and personal identity, especially for those who have felt alienated by rigid or image-focused fitness spaces.
On a deeper level, Dance Yourself Fit aligns with holistic wellness by addressing the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. It cultivates a healthy relationship with movement—one that is not driven by punishment or guilt, but by pleasure, passion, and self-care. In doing so, it helps reframe fitness as a celebration of what the body can do, rather than a response to how it looks.
In summary, Dance Yourself Fit is a powerful, holistic practice that brings joy, vitality, and connection to the forefront of fitness. It empowers individuals to move with purpose, playfulness, and presence—transforming exercise into an act of liberation, healing, and holistic self-care. Whether you're dancing for health, happiness, or healing, the message is clear: fitness can be fun, freeing, and deeply fulfilling.

REVIEW
Dance Yourself Fit, Nicki Kelly
I’ll be honest—I never planned on joining DYF . In fact, my friends practically bullied me into coming along at first. But looking back now, I’m so glad they did.
What started as something I didn’t even want to try has turned into the best 2.5 years of my life. Beyond the amazing workouts and the fun of dancing, I’ve found something much bigger—lifelong friends, confidence, and memories I’ll cherish forever. Nicki Kelly is the most patient, caring, energetic dance instructor that you will come across always making you feel calm, at ease and her smile never leaves her face even on a bad day.
This class has been more than just fitness; it’s been community, laughter, and a reminder that sometimes the things you resist most can end up bringing you the greatest joy. It’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for both my health and happiness. I wanted something more exciting than a traditional workout, and this class was the perfect fit.
What drew me in was the mix of fun and fitness—it doesn’t feel like exercise when you’re moving to the music. The routines are easy to follow, high-energy, and adaptable for all fitness levels, which makes it welcoming even if you’re new to dance.I joined because I wanted a workout that would motivate me to stay consistent, while also giving me a chance to let loose and relieve stress. It’s become more than just exercise it’s a mood booster, a way to connect with others, and something I look forward to every week.
If you’re looking for a workout that feels less like a chore and more like a party, I highly recommend giving this class a go and giving yourself an hour of just ME time leaving your troubles at the door and having the best hour of your week 😀.

I absolutely love my Dance Yourself Fit class every Monday. Our teacher Holly is a “treasure” she is so enthusiast & brings us all along with the routine with gusto. I like that we keep going for the hour and never get bored, long may it continue 💃🏻

I have a heart condition so I thought dancing at my own pace as the instructor explained everything to us before and during dancing.
Meeting new people and feeling relaxed. Nobody judging you. Website and members hub is brilliant and you get to learn the dances before the next class.. Excellent communication from DYF customer services. Feel great after the class. It's a great achievement. Love it.!!!

@highlight - I have been a DYF member for nearly 3 years with Natasha Coppola & I would honestly be lost without it. I have always been a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing & when I saw classes in my area I jumped at the chance to join. The themed weeks, guest dances & routine dances are great fun & you dance to class music. I would highly recommend dance yourself fit.

I joined the DYF family in January 2023 not knowing what to expect. After the first class I was hooked. The laughs, fun and energy you experience make you want to keep coming back for more, so much more I started going 2 nights a week. I have not only lost weight since I started but gained more confidence and love for myself since I began. Cannot recommend these classes enough. 💃🏼💕🎶

When Dance Yourself Fit popped up on my Facebook it definitely sparked my interest from the first time I walked into the class by myself I knew I was never going to leave.Six years on I still love the classes and have the same high as I did in that first class, I have made wonderful friends. Its one of the best things I have ever done for my mind, body, fitness, health & happiness I can't imagine not dancing every week now. I would wholeheartedly recommend you give it a try I promise you won't regret it.
P.S That was the last time I was by myself !
Sandra ❤

Great classes but keep spamming my mail box!
I really enjoy the weekly classes (would give them 5 stars) but the constant hard sell both before and after the classes as well as the volume of junk emails is really annoying. While you can unsubscribe from the mails, you then miss out on early booking emails so risk not being able to book the class of your choice.
I also really dislike the expectation that you will be in the group photos after class. It's very difficult to be the ONLY one not seen as willing to participate and I've never had any instructor state that it's optional.
Personally if I sign up for a class, I just need to know when I need a mail telling me when to sign up for the next term and don't want to be pressured into appearing on social media! From talking to people in the class, most of use now just send all emails from DYF directly to our junk folder!

Always leave the session smiling
Love my Thursday evening dance, great energy and music. Work out for your body and your brain as the routine builds.
Can’t wait for next term to start.

I joined Dance yourself Fit classes in September 2023 as I had heard about it during thar Summer from two different friends one in Dublin and one in Athlone. Hearing how great it was I thought it would be good to check it out and try something new. I also saw it on Ireland AM and it looked so great so I said lets go for it,
So in September 2023 my daughter and I joined in Maynooth. I didnt want to join on my own however I neednt have worried. I absolutely loved it. I havent looked back and I never miss a term. I am so glad I did. It didnt feel like exercise. This excercise class was so much fun.The hour went by so fast. Everyone was so happy and friendly and I really enjoyed it. Excercise for me was never this much fun.
We have a fantastic teacher who gave us so much confidence to be ourselves
Dance Yourself Fit has been amazing and joining was the best decision I ever made. I am so happy when classes are on so much that I joined summer classes in a new venue that I could continue my weekly classes. My location did not have a summer term. The new venue was great as I got to meet fabulous new teachers and meet new DYF friends. This has been so lovely.
My advice to you if you are thinking about joining… Do it ..you will not regret it. Its a weekly feel good class and you come away feeling energised and so positive. You will learn so much more than just the steps and make new friends along the way. It is amazing👏👏👏💃💃

Dance Yourself Fit kept popping up on my Facebook feed and each time I thought, that looks like so much fun.
I told my friend and hoped she would join class with me but she couldn’t and I really didn’t want to go on my own.
The next time I saw the ad I told myself I could do it on my own and I just booked it.
That was 7 years ago (the September before the pandemic struck) and I have hardly missed a class since.
When live classes were put on hold due to Covid, Niall Newman introduced the DYF 28 Day Challenge online and I danced every day from my home.
There was so much more than dancing on offer too with yoga classes, Pilates, strength and mobility classes to name but a few and we had cookery demonstrations with lovely wholesome ingredients for healthy meals and healthy treats as well.
Every day Niall did a motivational walk and talk and kept us upbeat and positive in a world that was full of stress and worry in very uncertain times.
When Dance Yourself Fit classes resumed after “Lockdown” I had no hesitation about joining my local DYF class in Galway, as well as staying in the online 28 Day Challenge group.
I have made so many friendships through these weekly classes and at the end of last term we had fun with ladies from the other sessions in Galway at our end of term party.
The online Facebook community has been life changing and over the past 7 years I have made so many strong friendships with like minded people from all over the world whom I communicate with almost daily, have had weekends away with and met at many of the DYF community events eg.. DYF Christmas Ball, DYF Retreat in Spain and privately for birthday celebrations and Spa weekends in Ireland, UK, Europe and across the world.
I have changed so much from those days 7 years ago in my mid 50’s when I was so shy and extremely nervous about walking into a class on my own!
I have lost weight, become fitter and healthier than I have in years and my strength and mobility has improved immensely which I am thankful for now in the post menopausal phase of my life.
My mental health, mental clarity, mood and self confidence has improved 100% and if I have an off day I have close bonds and unyielding support with people who I can turn to either online or actually meet for coffee and a chat with, which always lifts our spirits.
Dance Yourself Fit has been my lifeline and I am so happy that I clicked that link to join.
My advice to you if you are thinking about joining… You will NOT regret it. Life is for living and YOU ARE WORTH IT.

Dance Yourself Fit classes are just amazing. I absolutely love my classes they are such fun and I enjoy every minute. I never miss a class. The music, the dance routines and the atmosphere in the class is just brilliant. I am very lucky that I get to attend Aaron’s classes. There’s a reason why his classes are so hard to get a place in, he is just an outstanding professional dance teacher. His positivity and energy are just unmatchable. This made me join DYF’s Spanish retreat and here I am now booked for my third retreat. The other teachers I have met along the way in Spain or at DYF events like Kris, Sinead, Nikki, Anne etc are so lovely and give their all. I’m so delighted I took them steps to join DYF a few years ago. Many thanks to all the team at DYF especially Niall, Kate & family. - Liz Coyne
