Fantastic Dance School
I've been going to Paul and Tracey at Dance at 8 since 2016 and they are some of the loveliest people I've met. They're both patient and will help you learn at your own pace. Paul has been dancing since he was in short trousers and has been in the dance industry for many years, so is a very experienced teacher. Tracey has over 10 years experience and has an eye for details.
Their week night classes are great for beginners who wish to learn the basics of social dancing and they make every effort to get you to a decent standard with the time you spend with them. Their classes run in four weeks blocks, which teaches you basic steps and some additional variations. After each block, you move on to a new dance.
If you want to take your technique to the next level, they also offer private lessons at the weekend. These help you refine your abilities further. They do come at a price, but are well worth it for the experience and knowledge you can make use of.
Finally, there are the social dances. These are once a month and are a great way to dance in a relaxed environment and meet other dancers from across the county. Not only are the ballroom, Latin and specialty dances done, but also barn dances and the occasional sequence dance, which keeps the evening varied and entertaining.
