Lost all trust in Cyclotrocity

Lost all trust in Cyclotrocity. I bought a conversion kit from them approx 2 years ago and now the battery has degraded such that the range is only 8 miles on relatively flat roads and the system is only partially used at level 1 assist. You cannot get another battery from anywhere else as nobody supplies batteries for these system, must ask why not. Spoken with UK an agent and found they could not give me any technical help on the battery spec. Suspect this is a low quality product. Just spoke to Elaine who told me that if I wanted a charger for a new battery it would cost an extra £59.99. Now starting to strip my Cyclotricity system out and get rid of the poor quality system. Buyers beware expect to replace you battery early. When I check both my battery and motor unit I found it did not have any makers mark, serial number or CE a marking suggest it is a poor quality Chinese knock off. Not impressed.

Good customer service

Ordered front wheel e-bike kit and it arrived really quickly.......however my heart sank when I discovered that they had sent the wrong sized wheel. The good news was that easy to get hold of customer service and Elaine was great. Wheel collected and correct replacement delivered - so issue resolved within a week. As for the kit needed a bit of tweaking to fit but love it and cycling to work every day - even in the wind and the rain.

Great bike

Bought online. A bit of a delay with the courier, arriving a week later than the date the courier texted.
However, Cyclotricity support were very helpful.
A couple of niggles - an uncapped wire that had me puzzled (why is it even there if not needed?). A tire dust cap missing. And video instruction on a bike that has bolts in a different place than mine. Poor Elaine on support dealing with my questions! (Very politely)
Overall, I love my bike, it's been a joy to ride to work and back. Brilliant value for money.

Lazy, terrible and incompetent.

Bought a bike that broke within six months and when I tried to return it I was told it wasn't their responsibility.

Spent a month going back and forwards between Cyclotricity and Generation electric before one of them took responsibility.

Was told by a customer service agent (Conner Gibb) to "do my own research" and that he wouldn't help me with the problem.

Naturally, I asked to put in a complaint but this too, was completely ignored.

So avoid this company at all costs

I can't reply to the below comment but just for any customers that sees this.

Cyclotricity claim that all bikes have a year warranty and yet, as you can see below, they deny even having a six month warranty.

Also, it is uk law for all electronic goods to have a year warrenty. So I will be reporting them to trading standards.

I'm sorry to hear you feel this way. But certain requests are beyond reasonable. You asked to return a broken bike that you've used extensively for 6 months. All bikes develop faults at some point, which is why regular servicing is recommended by all bike suppliers.

Our return policy is one of the most accommodating in the cycling industry. But even we can't extend it to 6 months!

We do, however, offer a 1 year warranty policy so that if your bike develops a fault we'll send you the spares needed at no expense to you.

Great kit and easy to fit to bike

The ordering process was straightforward on the website. The only confusion with the ordering was a pop-up warning when ordering the control - panel. This suggested that the LCD display was not quite compatible with other items in the kit. I then incorrectly ordered the LED module and had to get it swapped out which delayed the bike conversion. As for the completed bike - it was excellent! The components are high quality and the ride experience is great. The online installation manual is detailed and made the install easy and snag free.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service.

If I could give zero stars I would!

I have a bike that arrived faulty weeks ago, emailing zen desk, over 30 emails so far over a few weeks so far and no resolve. I keep asking for the complaints service and not being given the information.

Finally offered a video call but I work full time, how am I supposed to resolve this.
I would like a return and replacement or refund but no one is really helping!
£700 birthday gift that I cannot use!
I do not recommend this company at all! 🤬

Purchased a 36v 250w conversion kit 3…

Purchased a 36v 250w conversion kit 3 days later a 1000w 48v wheel only turns up , contact Cyclotricity customer services told me they would get it collected next day then send right order ,that was 8 days ago every working day I get an email and message from DHL stating a collection time and nobody shows up, today I printed the label provided by Dhl and proceeded to drop it off and was told failed parcel and refused to except it ,so 11 days after purchase I still have something I didn't order and now want a refund because I cannot go through this again, updated 13 days after purchase DHL finally collected this wrong wheel on a Friday supposed to deliver back to Cyclotricity on Monday that then changed to Tuesday and was delivered Tuesday Wednesday morning still no refund , had to open PayPal case but still waiting for my money back, Reply to Cyclotricity reply, Yes most of the problem was DHL your courier but someone sent a wrong wheel instead of the kit I purchased in the first place to start the whole thing off , I appreciate that communication was for the most part good so I've added another star ,but even after DHL finally collected it took 5 days to get back to you then after another 26 hours PayPal stated I had been refunded by PayPal as case decided in my favour so am unsure if that was because Cyclotricity had put through refund or PayPal as stated decided, Anyway after 18 days I'm refunded case closed will buy off ebay, personally I wouldn't renew that contract with DHL when it expires from this experience they are worse than Hermes

Practical conversion

Equipment is well made and instructions clear enough to allow installation with a basic knowledge of bike maintenance.
Through life support has been excellent with queries answered promptly.
The kit has made my old but sound Specialized Hardrock into a practical alternative to commuting by car.

Needed a couple of batteries tested

Needed a couple of batteries tested - they arranged for collection and tested them (1 was OK, 1 was dead). So ordered 1 new battery and it was sent along with the return of the others as promised. Customer service could not have been better. Really efficient and helpful. Well done Elaine (and Nelson). Thank you.

Parts for e-bike

Recently bought a 2nd hand Cyclotricity Revolver e-bike. Found one of the brackets of the Controller box was snapped. On their Website they only sold the whole controller box and 2 brackets as a pack. Had communication with Elaine who was extremely helpful! They sent me 2 brackets for free! Great service and I would strongly recommend Cyclotricity for anyone looking for an e-bike. Customer Service was excellent and second to none! Well done Cyclotricity.

I have an old Cyclotricity

I have an old Cyclotricity, a Sahara, and I needed to know if it had a freewheel, if it was freewheel or cassete and if it was possible to fit a rear kit so that I could go uphill a bit easier. The assistance was perfect. Thank you Cyclotricity.

Cyclotricity a top brand in E-bike conversions and E-bikes, I have used Cyclotricity for a number of years now, their service is second to none, I would not hesitate to recommend Cyclotricity to anyone, they are brilliant.

Helpful if you have a problem

Fast delivery of conversion kit, parts look quality. Took me a wile to fit, I had to modify the front forks to clear the front wheel drive hub.
Had a bit of trouble with setting the speed on the LED controller, e/mailed Cyclotricity and they were very helpful. Replaced the controller with a new unit again speedy delivery. The bike is now up and running and am very pleased with the conversion.
