Hi,I would defiantly recommend Cycle tech to anyone. Paul sorted my problems with my hydraulic brake's where no other bike shops could fix them or tried to overcharge me.Thanks.Paul.

Excellent Cleat setup

Booked a cleat setup here for 2 pairs of shoes (Road and MTB). Very relaxed and professional attitude, everything was explained and tested. No rush experience and all questions answered. Wasn't sure initially if it would make any difference, but can honestly say I fell more comfy on the bike with better power going through the pedals . Paul also gave me some good local route information too.
Definitely recommend, should have got this done a long time ago. :)

Wow, just Wow!

I came to Paul after suffering whilst riding my bike, pins and needles, numbness and not enjoying the bike. Paul worked wonders and was so patient. There was no urgency and adjustments down to the millimetre were performed, so precise was the fit. Even down to identifying a muscle issue in my knee! The following night I took the bike on a proven route, and Wow!! Increased my speed, my climbing speed, I didn't fatigue where I once did, it is like a new bike.
I genuinely can't thank Paul enough

So today I went finally went in to get a proper fitting for my bike!

I’ve ridden a lot on this bike over the past few years - but have just returned to it after a good long break!

Absolutely loved my fit with Paul Smith and I definitely recommend it to anybody.

What a great experience - every stage was explained really clearly, the changes that were made were done in a way I understood why and to find that I had my bike set up for all these years in a more aggressive racing style than Sir Brad... 😳

My bikes set up bears no resemblance to that when I rode it into the shop but after a couple of trips out on it since mt fit, I can seriously say it’s a much comfier a ride now!!!

Thanks Paul! Made up with it!!!

Friendly and informative

Set up a bike I bought from a different store and fitted it to my preferences. Cost me a fraction of what some other stores wanted. Paul is friendly and was informative throughout the process and responded to emails even out of working hours. Cheers.

Honest Review

I'm not sure I'll receive a reply, but here's my honest review.
I was thinking about using another bike shop for my repair, but being impatient, and was informed by Cycle Centre my bike would be a week to put right, I thought why not, give them a try. I wish I'd have waited and used the other shop I had in mind.
I'd dropped my bike off to be made "roadworthy", wasn't really bothered about it's looks, just needed safe, and "roadworthy". I was quoted a cost in the shop, this went up as I was informed through the week a new wheel was needed, fair enough, give them the benefit of the doubt, was also informed it would be ready by 17.00 on Saturday the 2nd June. I phoned at 1.30pm on the Saturday to see if this was still the case, the reply came..."yes, we have a couple of small jobs to complete, then we'll be on yours, and it will definately be ready later this afternoon, I'll ring you when it's ready". By 4.30pm I was a little concerned that I'd not heard anything, so I rang them, unfortunately there was no answer at all. I then sent an email expressing how frustrated I was, and went on to say, it's unprofessional not to have at least received a phone call to let me know how things were going on, even if that was to say the bike wasn't ready after all, I accept sometimes things happen.
Fair play to Paul of Cycle Centre, he emailed back quite soon suggesting if the bike was ready, which he thought it was, he would ask Elliot if he could meet me on the Sunday, 3rd June, in order I collect the bike.
Elliot agreed to this and we met at 4.15pm on the Sunday, 5th June at the shop.
Elliot went through the jobs we'd agreed, but I noticed the pedals hadn't been exchanged, which was one of the jobs agreed. Again, to be fair Elliot did change the pedals there and then, at no extra cost.
I paid the money and left with the bike. The reason I quoted "roadworthy" earlier was because that's all I wanted the bike to be, and yet when I got the bike home I noticed the rear tyre was threadbare, all the canvas backing was showing through the rubber all the way round the tyre.
So, in closing Cycle Centre Oldham provided me with totally unacceptable and unprofessional customer service. Ironically 4 work colleagues of mine had asked me to let them know how I went on, as they were considering services for their bikes. As you can imagine I haven't felt able to recommended Cycle Centre, purely based on my experience, I couldn't recommend to friends or colleagues based on the level of service I received.
I am not a serial complainer, but the least I expect when somebody says they'll ring you later, is just that.... a phone call.

Paul, I just wanted to respond to your reply, which I thank you for, but also I'd Like to clarify a couple of points.

If you read my post correctly, I did acknowledge both your swift email response, along with your apology. I also used the phrase "to be fair" not only about your response, but also about Elliot meeting me on Sunday, and I specifically mentioned Elliot fitted the pedals there and then, even though they were pointed out and acknowledged by Elliot a week ago.
You were quick enough to point out the need for a new wheel, it might have been an idea at that point to warn me of the tyre, which for want of a better word, is actually bald.
I'm not prepared to get into review wording tennis, but I will agree with you about the main issue being around the lack of communication, not receiving a phone call after being informed the bike will definately be ready was the main issue. As I said, I acknowledged all the fair points you'd made, and of course you'll try and defend anything derogatory said about your business, but from where I'm standing from, the collection day/time were nothing to do with me, it was your end who stipulated that.
As far as I'm concerned I've drawn a line under it. I've used Cycle Centre, wasn't happy, move on.

Hi Steve, thank you for your reply and I take on board your comments, we are currently doing around 400 workshop jobs a month and even though you are the first person to complain its still one unhappy customer to many!

In reply to your comment I did reply Saturday evening when I saw your mail and apologised for the delays and missed phone calls, I did explain we had just had the busiest week and Saturday since opening 4 years ago, however I did also apologise as I agreed the service level was not up to scratch.

As you said you required your bike for Monday for work so I asked Elliot to come in Sunday to enable you to get your bike back, Elliot actually left his sisters birthday party to do this as I was away!

You asked us to do the "bike as cheap as possible" as you wanted to "do it up yourself" which is what we did, in fact you was not charged full retail for most of the components and you was not charged for the pedals!

Elliot did show me the tyre but with your request to keep the costs down and the fact you was doing it yourself i felt the tyre was roadworthy "for now" but will need replacing in the future, unfortunatley this was not passed onto you in the rush on Sunday with Elliot leaving his sisters birthdasy party to open up when we are not normally open to get your bike back to you

I can again only apologise for the poor commnication which seems to be the major issue here, we are actually curently recruiting more workshop staff which will help with this going forward. if you wish to come into the shop at some point to discuss this in more detail please feel free to do so and hoepfully we can resolve any issues.

Absolutely Fantastic

Had a full bike fit and the attention to detail was fantastic. All changes fully explained and tested before using as final setting. Shoes, cleats, pedals, saddle, stem and handlebars all adjusted. Riding now feels much less strenuous and riding position is far more comfortable. Great service.

Incredible

I didn't realise just how important a good bike fit was. Paul took his time to explain better posture and mechanics to get the most power and comfort for my ride.
He didn't rush but was very thorough. The bike feels so much better now and I can ride for much longer without my "parts" feeling sore.
Incredible service & a top fella who is clearly an expert.
