Just avoid anything to do with this company
They have had a pair of my Garmin pedals for a paid-for-service since January 2025. I doubt I will ever see those pedals again. I doubt Bob Tobin was trading throughout the past few months solvently, which is not legal and certainly not honest. Sadly, no amount of attempts to communicate with him led to the courtesy of a response.
Don't order from this company
I wish I'd checked the reviews before ordering some new pedal bodies from this company.
I'd ordered some bearings from them before and they were delivered in a couple of days, but having ordered some pedal bodies over 15 days ago I've still not received anything and e-mails are unanswered and calls go right to voicemail.
Company on the verge of closure
I would avoid purchasing from this company as according to Companies House the business is on the verge of being dissolved, due to ‘active proposal to strike off’.
Accounts are overdue - AVOID.
Unfortunately this company seems to…
Unfortunately this company seems to have gone down the pan, i have used them before with no problem but i'm still waiting for a reply and my order from four weeks ago and i've paid for it.
Scam artists
Scam artists. Avoid at all costs. They will take you money and property and never talk to you. Legal action has been taken. You have been warned.
50% chance of them stealing your money
Based on my experience you have a 50% chance of receiving your product and a 50% chance of them just going silent and stealing your money. I bought pedals in June 2024. It took over a month to arrive, but compketely satisfied. I then tried to buy another set for another bike at the start April (3 weeks ago); since then they have not responded to a single email.
No communication - No delivery
Placed an order, paid for fast courier delivery, automated order acknowledgement - no delivery
No response to several emails - 9 days later - no delivery and no communication
I’m not sure what’s going on … not…
I’m not sure what’s going on … not answering phone call , email ( ignoring PayPal too ! )
I have to wait 5 weeks to get my money back !
DO NOT USE!!! FRAUD
The company have taken my order, the order has not been dispatched, they have not responded to any emails, and I have emailed all the named individuals on their website and their phone number in "unavailable".
I have contacted my bank and they are looking into the payment.
This is a company based entirely on FRAUD it would seem. I have reported them to the police as a Scam.
First I felt mixed, now I feel totally disappointed
First I felt mixed.
I wishes I had checked the reviews either here in Google or in FB reviews before ordering. You know when I bought a powermeter from CPM years ago (in 2012 and in 2019 January) everything went fine. Now I am in the same boat as many of you, no replies at all.
And I paid by bank transfer so there is zero chance to claim the amount back.
And why did I feel mixed? Because I was hunting just a small “Powertap G3 triangle lock nut” and the total amount at stake is just 15 pounds.
But anyway it is such a shame that this company with good reputation is ending like this.
Their website is full with obsolete data. Eg. their technician Mr Paul
Goodwin seems to have left them in February 2024. So exactly a year ago, see www . linkedin . com/in/paul-goodwin-51294715?originalSubdomain=uk
And a final note: if Mr Robert Tobin and his family had trouble to cope with the new orders why did not they simply deactivate their webshop months or years ago?
I could order this nut 2 weeks ago, so the store is open to collect new victims who do not know whether they will get what they ordered with a huge delay or it would be better if they were looking for a refund. As I dont know either.
I reported the whole story pf SRAM/Quarq, because CPM is listed as their online partners, but I guess they will not intervene. Maybe just drop the logo of CPM from sram . com….
UPDATE
SRAM DID NOT WANT TO HELP ME SO I SUMMARIZED THEM ALL THE INFO I COULD COLLECT WITHIN 3-4 DAYS. Here it is:
Ad 1) If SRAM is not bothered to put on its website a name and a logo of a company doing this www . facebook . com/Cyclepowermeters/reviews/ that g . co/kgs/fk2e1EQ and that www .
trustpilot
.
com/review/cyclepowermeters.com?sort=recency then I have no additional comments. But I got your message you say you have no contracts with them thus you cannot do anything.
Ad 2) You say to your knowledge they are in operation, but apart from the reviews saying they are unavailable I can add that
A) their website claims obsolete thing, eg. they removed the name and contact address of their technician colleague from here www . cyclepowermeters . com/contact just this weekend or today after I had sent an email to all the 4 available email addresses displayed there including that (paul at cyclepowermeters dot com ) of the technician Mr Paul Goodwin. Fun fact: I investigated it and Paul left them exactly a year ago www . linkedin . com/in/paul-goodwin-51294715
B) you can try and call any time of their phone number (I tried like 20-25 times and never answered), 00441788556860 either within their claimed operating time (Mon-Thu 8:30-17:30 UK time) or when you have a coffee/tea/smoke break.
Ad 3) I checked and in case of bank transfers the bank I used (Wise) there is no option for refund l, just a chargeback for those who paid by cards.
You know, I had hoped that SRSM have a contacting channel to CPM which works and you can reach them saying that what they are doing is bad for any brands they are selling including SRAM/Quarq/Powertap. I was stupid and naive.
FRAUDULENT COMPANY
Goods ordered 1st January. Nothing received. No response to emails or phone calls. Only payment method was bank transfer- images on website are lies. £500 stolen from a fraudulent company!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Ordered a powermeter on 25th November. Order currently appears as 'processing'. Despite numerous attempts to contact via phone and email, I have had no communication whatsoever. Having to go through credit card company to reclaim what I paid. Wish I'd read the reviews...
Zero customer service
A customer of many years my last experience leaves me thinking, I won't bother again. No reply to my email asking when my order will be dispatched. Not sure what has happened. It's 2024 and surely it's not that hard to communicate with your customers? Won't be shopping with cyclepowermeters again. I've had to order from another shop to ensure I get the part so I can keep training properly, the part arrived 2 days after ordering, from Italy! Update 7th Jan, two emails sent requesting order cancellation, still no reply.
Money taken, no contact, no product.
I made an order in October and the money was taken from my account. The confirmation email said the product ships in 7-10 days. I have heard nothing despite calling and emailing multiple times.
Scam
Appalling service. This is a scam, don't order from them as you won't receive the goods or any responses to emails or phone calls etc. Fortunately I only ordered a low value item
Buyer warning
Do not use this company.
Zero customer service
Have been awaiting a high value refund for over a month now with zero communication.
I've exhausted all options and will now pursue a credit card chargeback and instruct the small claims court.
Limited communication but job done quickly
Having read other reviews I understand the experience others have had. For me, I had a fairly simple requirement which was a bearing change on my power meter pedals. I sent them tracked and signed for and heard nothing back for a few days. I was a bit concerned as my emails weren't replied to, then I decided to message on facebook. This was responded to very quickly and I received my pedals back 3 days later. So, all in all it was a good outcome and the pedals are back in good condition. The comments around lack of communication appear fair as that was also my experience however, for a simple job like mine I don't think a lot of communication was required so it didn't bother me much at all.
Zero customer service.
Placed an order, no one answers the phone, no one returns messages, no replies to emails, no one replies to fb messenger. God help you if you have a problem.
Pay a little more money and purchase from a reputable outlet.
e-mails and phone calls not answered, no delivery made.
I ordered some power pedals which were shown as 'ships in 2-3 days'. My card was charged immediately.
A week later, I started phoning and e-mailing as the order was still showing as 'processing'. All phone calls were sent to ansafone, and I had no reply despite leaving messages. The e-mails didn't even respond with an automated acknowledgement.
5 weeks later, and still nothing, and still showing as 'processing' on my online account.
I spoke to my bank who will be processing a refund for me, as the retailer is supposed to deliver in 15 days by law. What a strange way to run a business.
My credit card payment was refunded by my bank the day after I spoke to them.
Slow service and uncommunicative
Slow service (9 days for an "in-stock" item to arrive and travel about 70 miles - about 0.3 mph). Uncommunicative - no answer to the phone or to emails. Automated emails unlcear whether the item had been dispatched or not. On the positive side, they got there in the end at least.
