What started out as a good choice ... was ruined !
What started out as a good choice of vehicle was ruined by getting an email to say there was damage to the vehicle, which from my perspective, was not the case.
The van had the usual selection of scuffs and grazes, over the 2 days i had noticed quite a lot more than were originally pointed out at the time of collection. and it was when i was refuelling I noted even more damage and some trim missing that again, I had hurriedly been asked to sign for without having been given sight of the actual document that was sent via email once we had the van and were on the road. My thoughts we even then that i hope they don't try and blame me for those ! The visual inspection when we collected lasted all of 2 minutes and a further minute just to scribble in the boxes as instructed, but this morning, there is apparently a crack in some plastic on the step at the back of the vehicle, the photo is very vague, no detail of the alleged damage, I am currently waiting on further info as i believe this was missed during the inspection, the lad took maybe 4 general pictures that i witnessed before asking me to walk around and sign.
My message is ... Get the full defect report in print, go through all the faults that are listed and agree or disagree as appropriate, do not feel guilty about taking up their time because at the end of the day, they are trying to withhold returning your deposit over something that there is a high probability that they missed. I'm not happy about being told i am paying for something that I have not done !
