Wish I have reviewed this site before…

Wish I have reviewed this site before wasting £219 on absolute utter rubbish. I got ripped off and they know they can get away with it because the likes of Paypal don’t care.
The CV was utter rubbish. Grammatically incorrect and written by a non English speaker. Every recruiter that reviewed it had the same opinion. I did also not received any interviews as included in the package. Absolutely livid.
Joke of a company. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.

Incompetent chat gpt writers. False promises. Do not use …

My reviewer was a completely bad match although they ask you questions about your experience and the roles your are aiming for.I gave him constant feedback almost wrote the descriptions agin and he had no idea. He put a business intelligence tool as a coding tool. The descriptions were like chat gtp was writing them. Complete waste of money. I also emailed the service and 3 weeks later no response. Finding a job is stressful enough I don’t need to pay extra for the incompetence of a false promising service

Worst CV service ever..

Worst service ever... I engaged them to rewrite my CV but they made it worse. The CV could not even secure a single interview for 4 months after several applications. It is waste of money to engage them to write your CV. I wrote them some mails to express my disappointment and dissatisfaction but no response to any of my mails till date. It is so pathetic.

Absolute charlatans

Absolute charlatans. Poor grammar used, bad formatting, scored lower on ATS than my original. Included a table instead of clean formatting. Made claims of experience that did not even match my history and are completely refusing to refund. Waste of over 200 quid! Scam

Very poor quality writers! Do NOT waste your money with them!

I have paid for a CV, cover letter and LinkedIn update. The CV draft come back full of lies
- roles that I never had
- organisations that I never work for
The writer highlighted my experience from 12 years (that is not my current profession) and ignored useful points from my recent experience. I spent so much time reviewing and amending the CV that it was unbelievable! Let's not talk about the Cover letter!
It feels like it was sent to a high school student in the US and the person did a copy past job. I live in the UK.

It has been more than a week I have been asking for my money back and not getting anywhere. I am getting emails from someone called Caroline Robert. Not sure if Caroline Roberts is a real person because responses sound like a robot!

DO NOT waste your money with this organisation. Find someone else, would be my advice.

Don't do it

Mercifully only used the free cv review in a moment of desperation to feel like I was doing something positive to get a new job. The feedback was incredibly generic, not really relevant (claiming I had no "acheiver" stats and figures where I actually have a lot!), and even completely misquoted my CV - did they even read it or just pass it through a bot? Now getting regular emails exhorting me to buy their packages, despite me repeatedly requesting to unsubscribe from their mailing list.

Very glad I didn't pay for service from them - AVOID, no matter how desperate you feel.

Reads like a robot has written it so…

Reads like a robot has written it so suspect they’re using a computer programme not an actual writer.
Littered with spelling and grammar mistakes.
Complete con. Luckily I only parted with £99.

Absolute con

Absolute con, they do a free review of you CV, then slaughter it, but offer to correct it, for the small cost of 99 pounds, upto 250 pounds. I would advise people to stay away.

Unfortunately complete disaster

Unfortunately complete disaster. To keep story short: needed to rewrite and correct multiple spelling mistakes even after final review. Dates for roles from LinkedIn profile did not match CV and data provided. Only support offered was to write it again(after I corrected all the errors). Format send to me was absolute horrible when printed. My biggest mistake was to trust "professional" and send CV without another checks, which caused a lot of embarrassment.

I have requested the complete service

I have requested the complete service: resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile. I have had 3 rewrites. I wish I can say this was worth the money but it is not. I am unable to use these documents because of poor grammar, and spelling mistakes. I wish I would have been warned sooner. they also do not offer refunds even after acknowledging all the errors in their documents.

Avoid this service at all costs. Please.

Avoid this service at all costs. Please. I think it might actually damage your chances of getting a job.

I read the detailed feedback CVKnowHow provided on my submitted CV, and frankly agreed with a number of their comments that I was underselling myself. I engaged them to revise my CV in the hope that I would be that bit more successful in my job search - CVs are not my forte, so I was happy to get some help.

At this point, it's probably worth noting that I am a design specialist, so I have to be very careful describing what it is I do and the skills I have. But hey, they are the professionals, right?

As per the onboarding requests, I supplied all the information requested, and went into depth supplying extra info about my working process, my view on the role of design in society, and a whole lot more besides. I went deep with the responses, hoping they would be able to see me as a more rounded person. Feeling pretty satisfied with the info I supplied (more on that later), I submitted this and waited for my drafts to come through.

What I received today (on schedule, admittedly), actually made me laugh out loud.

- They didn't get my phone number right.
- They highlighted skills that have no consequence for my role, and paraphrased all the specialist skills that actually set me apart.
- For all the achievements that were significant for my role, they paraphrased, and created bullet points for everything that was non-essential to my role... almost as if they had no concept of what I actually did for a living.
- My cover letter and CV was not able to define my role title accurately
- The first sentence of my cover letter made no sense.
- My cover letter focussed on career highlights that were in a different design discipline.
- Oh, and they forgot to include my portfolio links (I’m a designer, they’re a pretty big deal for me)

I could go on, but I think I've built up enough of a picture. I will also note that I have worked in publishing, so I know what to expect from a writer. I wouldn't accept the kind of grammar used in these documents from a child. I’m honestly not sure my CV was written by a human. Or even a machine that was actually fluent in English.

What my fantastic, 'Professional' writer did do, however, was add a terrific amount of complex, overused, business-orientated buzzwords that obfuscated my actual qualities, and completely miscommunicated my value to a potential employer.

The really interesting part? In the time it has taken for CVKnowHow to come back with what is laughably titled a 'Draft' (2.5 days) and with the 'underselling' CV I originally drafted, I have 7 separate specialist recruiters currently in conversation, and have already been put forward for 15 roles. Do you remember how proud I was of the additional responses I had submitted as part of the onboarding process? Well I used those in the interview scheduled for me today, and I'll might using them again in the interview I have scheduled for tomorrow... although I might not need to if I accept the offer that has just been sent to me.

Yep, you read that right - My original CV was able to communicate my skills, accurately define my phone number and even point them to a repository of my best work, prepared for just such an occasion, and served as the first touch point in a lovely interview process that led to the right kind of person recognising that I could add value and that they wanted me to join their team.

I feel that because I am judging CVKnowHow so harshly, that I have to be transparent:

I admit that the role I was offered today was not the position the CV and cover letter was intended to target.

It was a significantly more senior position.

So it makes me think, could it possibly be that that initial review, the one thing in this process that was both grammatically correct and used real words, wasn’t exactly truthful? Did I fall for a spectacularly over-thought practical joke? Have I been scammed, or am I just gloriously naive? That, dear reader, is for you to decide.

The moral of this story? It’s your career, so it’s your choice to write your CV yourself, ask a friend for advice, get a professional to write this for you, or take out ad space on a billboard perhaps? Heck, you could even hire a small plane to drag a banner with your face and phone number across the sky, but please, for the love of everything you hold dear, DO NOT trust CVKnowHow to know how to write your CV (see what I did there?).

An outstanding service

I have already written a review but would like to reiterate that this CV writing service is fabulous. It was easy to follow, my communication with my personalised CV writer was excellent ( I cannot praise the CV writer more!) and moreover the price in relation to receiving an up to date, personalised and well written CV was affordable and worth every penny! Thank you for this outstanding service.
